OP: good post. GG My thoughts: …as a D1Y1 player of both PvP/PvE across HWT, at Div. IV standard with the occasional Div. III ‘in the zone’ moment, when my guns fired popcorn and party streamers, and my armour was tissue wrap, just hearing the sound of Vex M and/or Siri’s, meant one’s end was near! Of course, this would be in D1Y1. But, still we played - to get the better gear and weapons - in IB / Trials / Raids. And, it was F-U-N. Then came D2…where the senseless grind for diluted arms and gear became ever-increasingly the norm, and the ‘fun’ evaporated. Over time, things got EverWorse. Cheaters began to proliferate. Trials became a stomp fest, which only pushed the Casual players away. It wasn’t about ‘git gud, skrub!’… It just wasn’t any fun - for sensible players across all Divisions - Div. I to Div. IV. Despite the nonstop pleas and entreaties to Bungle from passionate Guardians to ‘better the systems’, all we got back was a sneering contempt, and ‘radio silence’. So, people stayed away. The PvP pool shrank considerably. Recovs and cheaters abounded. Now, in Trials, players would simply jump off the map to get a desired weapon, rather than play the game. And, when one’s LFG team of ‘no mic’ randos are up against crack(ed) teams of guilded x n. Flawless / Unbroken with a hundred Lighthouse clears, who can blame them?! How to fix? 1. Country / Regional dedicated servers 2. Trials needs tiered playlists with matching rewards 3. Scour LFG of Recov / Other Scalpers 4. Create a fair and level playing field for PvP games 5. Listen to sensible and passionate players, and act 6. Rid the game of cheats whatever the cost 7. Bungle - upgrade your architecture, up your game There’s more, for sure, but the a/m would be a good start. This is just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA - or don’t. 👈
