Can't count How many times I got a clear shot into someone into IB for them to not take damage!
Check that shit Bungie! Cuz I know I'm not the only one having this problem in this IB!

1 ReplyEdited by Kirka: 8/9/2021 11:19:26 AMIt's not just hit detection. Often the whole game is like playing in glue and even the minimap shows enemies where they are not, enemies appearing out of thin air, dying behind walls, getting seemingly one shot by primaries etc etc. Not sure which part is p2p which network manipulation or something like that. The "top" players never seem to have these issues for some reason.. And this has been going on for since y1. During the years I've changed my location, bought ps4 pro to replace my old ps4, changed better connection (direct fiber). No effect whatsoever. Maybe I'm wrong but with 15 000 crucible matches I think it's more of an educated guess at this point

7 RepliesIt has been happening in QP too. I hit some Hunter with a sword and the player took no damage and killed me with a melee.

Edited by Knightlight: 8/9/2021 3:39:46 AMI generally don't know the issue. I even get hit markers and a sound notification but he still lives. It's dumb. Even the dots on Polaris Lance lights up but no damage.

1 ReplyYou must be new, welcome to Destiny pvp. Considering this has only been an issue since D1 launch, i’m sure Bungie will fix it in no time.

2 RepliesEdited by JWHT0M: 8/9/2021 9:59:31 AMthe issue isn't hit registration, its the awful bullet magnetism this game has. i'd like for you to run a few experiments in a private match to see what i mean. -stand 40-45 meters away from a target and see how low the head hitbox goes for scouts, i tend to find the upper stomach is a crit spot at that range. -stand 30-40 meters away from a target with a pulse rifle, and see where the optimal place to aim is to hit three headshots; because i can guarantee it isn't actually their head -aim near somebody's head, but not so near as you think the bullets will deal damage. shoot and see where the bullet hole(s) is/are behind them; because it sure as hell isn't where you're aiming -try and hit a player's head with a smg or sidearm three consecutive times at 60 meters of range the bullet magnetism in this game is probably necessary to help the game flow, but it really isn't programmed or designed very well. it seems to greatly GREATLY help certain weapons in 'optimal' ranges but severely cripple others in suboptimal ranges. more below for people who care have you ever been in that wonderful zone with a weapon where literally no matter where you aim the shot registers as a body? and you think "wow this gun doesn't have enough range i can't seem to aim at this range!" we all have, especially console players. i cant seem to find the stat that dictates this bullet magnetism cone after some rudimentary testing, though i do believe each weapon has a hidden stat of some sort that determines the severity of bullet magnetism's negative effects at longer ranges. to see this, simply compare vigilance wing and outbreak perfected against a dummy at long ranges. my findings tend to indicate that while their stats are very comparable, outbreak is able to consistently hit headshots at much further ranges than vigilance wing. i know this isnt a direct 1-1 comparison but the effect is quite obvious if attempted. the aim assistance discrepancy is only 5 to outbreak, likely balanced by vigilance wing's significantly greater range. this leads me to believe that the game is stupid and im done typing this now

I was playing cold war the other day and was down a stairway, a guy peaked from behind a large barrel, the only thing showing the top half of his head, I killed him but the game registered it as a body shot despite it not being possible, upon reviewing the clip it was clear from the scope position when slowed, the bullet line, and blood splatter all confirmed it was a headshot, this all in spite the fact his head was the only part showing. So I've seen worse hit detection. The bullet magnetism and AA in D2 is quite high actually. Some snipers can still headshot while being off the person head.

I've experienced several cases of ghost bullets in handcannons, especially with Palindrome Adept. I want to love this weapon, but because of this problem, I can't rely on it.
-
Thats peer to peer for you, bungie wont switch to dedicated servers so what you see is what you get.
-
Just wait until cross play hits lol
-
I know the last word is known for having ghost bullets, but I hate when I hear the sound indicating I hit the enemy and they still don’t take damage. Also, I got shotgunned out of spectral blades when I hit a enemy with it and it did no damage, made the slashing sound too, then I just get shotgunned.

I noticed this the most if i came out of rest mode and went right into PVP or PVE. My character model and guns wouldn't load in. But if i close the game and reopen it, everything is fine. For whatever reason coming out of rest mode the connection is wonky and things don't load right. That's all i got, could be something, could be nothing, who knows.

thats Bungie.

Peer to peer is a mutha luva
Can't count How many times I got a clear shot into someone into IB for them to not take damage! Check that shit Bungie! Bungie themselves said they have no intentions of fixing it so you either live with it or move on to new horizons

I think it’s all connection based and this being the worst game for pvp
-
P2P server infrastructure and a low tick rate.

5 RepliesI have near enough given up on all Crucible modes apart from Rumble because Rumble seems the only mode where my shots register consistently.
