Mass Dismantle

We NEED a system to mass dismantle things. The amount of garbage that fills our inventories and postmaster is ridiculous.

Mass dismantle? What, did you think this was a modern video game? Destiny 2 is an outdated legacy game. No load out saves, no mass delete, substandard vault, 7 year old character menus, and a tiny postmaster. Everything about this game is OLD. Look at the vault. At the very LEAST, that thing should let you filter things. I should be able to just see my Hunter gear, or just exotics, etc.

    • We also need a trash box (with a 10 minute timer) for those times we accidentally delete our god roll weapons/armour RIP Steady/Truesight/Ricochet/Opening Shot/Rangefinder/Stability MW Dire Promise

      • And picking up spider mats 5 a time? Lol these developers are evil on purpose. Even in D1 you could exchange for x number of mats, why would they take steps back??? Who’s in charge of these decisions?

      • Here are a couple of scenarios to consider: 1. Auto-dismantle items designated as junk by colour: One might lose something like Husk of the Pit, or Bungie could never do another questline like it. 2. Expand the Post so more items can fit: It still fills up because people will quickly become accustomed to the new size, much like the Vault (present company, included). 3. Create a queue so items don't automatically go to the Post and players can select from the queue which to keep and which to dismantle: That queue fills up because there is no such thing as unlimited space, even in (or perhaps especially in) the Destiny universe. 4. Automatically drop the queue (see 3, above) when the session ends/at logout: People will scream bloody murder because their stuff is gone when they forget to review the queue before logging or if they get disconnected. 5. Allow for mass dismantle of stacks of stuff: People will scream bloody murder when they delete a stack of stuff that took forever to build and they mindlessly deleted it even with a 20 second timer on button hold because they just get too much crap and their mind is fried from having to sort through it all. 6. Simplify the loot pool because there's just too much crap to go through and manage: People scream bloody murder because there isn't enough loot. I think the real issue is the type, amount, and quality of loot we get for the time we put in. For that matter, the loot we get for the types of quests we do. The bounty system, as implemented, isn't working because we don't feel like we're accomplishing much, even though we're getting a lot of stuff. Perhaps a more linear progression with quality stuff along the way toward the ultimate reward and not relying as much on RNG might work. But that's not Destiny, and probably never will be.

      • There wouldn't need to be a system if this company didn't flood the game by creating so much garbage. They need to learn how to utilize material and consumables. Stop flooding the game with duplicates especially from the shop constantly using the same items just changing the name and shaders calling them "new items". Stop the manipulation when it comes to the RNG that causes the same items to drop more often than not. Stop flooding the game with blues. If anyone is running high-end content the last thing they are going to want to see as a "reword" are useless blues let alone BD. This game needs to be majorly toned down, becase there is triple the garbage in this game if not more vs actual rewards worth acquiring and using a bunch of garbage as a filler is not an incentive for me at least to want to play this game. Just one more thing. Put the postmaster in the directory seeing how easy it was for them to do that with the shop.

      • This community can't handle something as simple as clearing out their postmaster so that incoming items don't auto-delete existing ones.....

        • Outriders did something similar where you could flag an item(s) as junk, then hit the dismantle all junk button and remove any items you don’t need. Maybe bind it to left stick/R3/shift?

        • It would be good if we could use the 'save' feature on items to keep them from being moved off the PM queue. I cannot recall if the 'save' feature is available for non gear items. I think the heart of the issue is same as the vault, the game uses 3D models and those take up too much memory. Get rid of the 3D models and only use them if a user clicks on an item. Also, all items in a session should remain in the PM until a player goes back to the Tower/HELM. If the PM full message is displayed and the player doesn't deal with it then anything no tagged for saving and not in the displayed PM would be lost. Just my thoughts on this.

        • No. Part of the fun is hearing the dismantle sound over and over and over again. Just like turning in tokens/materials. You should enjoy sitting there developing a rhythm to button smashing, because it's fun.

        • *Enter boomer voice* I remember back in the old D1 days loot was meaningful. We didn't get it often but it meant something if we got a god roll of a weapon Then they complained they didn't get their inventories filled with loot So bungie did fill your inventories to satisfy people...with blues from rahool from back in the loot cave days.

        • They said their design can’t handle a massive dump of resources - especially if inventory slots or glimmer were full.
