The following change refers to the Ward of Dawn bubble itself and not players inside the bubble. Currently, dropping a Ward of Dawn on top of a boss is a no-brainer because it’s so effective. The goal of this change is to reduce the breadth of encounters solved by Ward of Dawn and make burly bubbles a conscious choice by the Titan.
Ward of Dawn
Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x -> 7x (at 0 Resilience).
Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat.

Well of Radiance
Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x → 1.5x (at 0 Resilience).
Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat.
Note: This refers to the Well of Radiance itself and not players inside the well.
So for everyone misunderstanding the nerf, the BUBBLE ITSELF will be taking more damage, and the WELL SWORD will be taking more damage.
We are just so used to not having to worry about it that many probably forgot that the sword and bubble can be destroyed if they take enough damage.
So building resilience will now be more important to ensuring that your bubble and your well survive the damage they will receive.
This is to counter dropping wells at say...atheons feet or any future boss we may over level.
So now quake can be a legitimate threat to those supers...probably.
Edit
However, we need to actually take into account which bosses this will actually effect before we blow it out of proportion.
To clarify, I'm not agreeing with it, I'm just arguing that this change could end up being a whole lot of nothing that people are getting all worked up over.
Take some time to look at our boss encounters in raids and nightfalls and count the number of bosses that can actually do the necessary damage to kill our supers.
I don't count very many

I saw those changes and immediately got a group together to finish the rest of fatebreaker off. Master Templar is gonna be rough after those changes.

2 RepliesNerfs bubble Doesn’t nerf walking bubble known as heir apparent
-
2 RepliesI don't really mind being reminded that the Bubble and Sword could be destroyed, but I AM salty over the fact that a Warlock needs Resilience (not their primary stat; or for you technical people, the stat not tied to class ability) to keep their Sword from dying, whereas a Titan needs Resilience (their primary stat) to keep their Bubble from breaking.
-
2 Replies
I don't count very many
I can. If you're a Dawnblade running a low resilience, I can seem Atheon being able to bust it up.. Or Templar being able to do it if you're running a no-teleport strat.
-
3 RepliesThe only class I have is hunter so this doesn't bother me at all, in my experience if it comes down to needing a well or that bubble thing you probably are undergeared for the content anyway, this game doesn't have roles (tank, dps, healer) everyone is dps because you don't need tanks or healers in destiny.
-
4 Repliesso basically, i'm now going to get killed even faster in my well in a grand master then the one shot i was already taking when using it? What's the point of using the super then. i'm already getting one shot out of a well in grand masters, now my well will get destroyed even faster when it doesn't even work in the first place? Makes no sense.

22 RepliesEdited by whateverman7: 8/8/2021 4:00:27 PMYou are correct, but a change like that is huge, and shouldnt be random and out the blue. People are now going to have to rethink builds, especially warlocks cause they barely use resilience. It just feels like this is a cheap, quick nerf for something that isnt truly an issue, and it's gonna end up being more annoying than anything.
-
6 RepliesThey nerfed well of radiance again? How sad. Why even buy the game?
-
5 RepliesThis is a big nerf, I may be over exaggerating but bubble and well are so required for harder content due enemies one tapping you. What a bad day to be support main
-
I mean, I personally love the change, I think making the resilience stay more important and preventing people from just ignoring raid mechanics, like atheon, with well of radiance is a great thing.
-
These changes are designed to reduce the duration of Bubble and Well. Don't be surprised if every enemy in the room starts shooting at the Well's sword instead of the players from now on.

The second u find aps5 is the second i start a different game. Unless you leave anarchy alone wells bubbles and just make some awesome new content and write reverse f, ING the game up, MOVE FORWARD NOT BACK, HELL I JUST DIE EVERY SINGLE TIME ICE HIS ME, NO REAL NEED IN THAT AREA. BUT NERF OUR PVE, DO THAT AND WE'RE GOING GOING GONE. YOU'VE ALREADY MESS MESS MESSED TO THE POINT WE ARE PLAYING OTHER GAMES. WE WILL KILL THE WITCH AND QUIT. IF THAT. MOVE POSITIVELY FORWARD, NEW NEW NEW NOT REMADE REHASHED REFURBISHED, quit taking crap guns off the print them back in making us have to really and rebuild then again. We don't have the time for all that in our lives u unless you take our whole lives. If you can't make new content how some smart sobs to do the job and quit with the negative adjustments already

There is absolutely no balance anywhere in this game D1 WAS WAY BETTER DIDN'T LOOK AS GOOD BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WAY BETTER EXOTICS WERE EXOTIC. ARMOUR DID SPECIAL STUFF. YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DIAL IN EVERY SINGLE PIECE FOR EVERY SINGLE THING. ITS NOT EVEN A FUN THING TO HAVE TO GOOGLE WHAT YOU NEED TO MOD EVERYTHING JUST RIGHT. ANYWAYS THERE'S ALLOT OF BAD NEGATIVE EFFECTS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. BING BANG THE WITCH WILL BE DEAD AND THE PLAYERS WILL BE FINDING OTHER GAMES BECAUSE OFTOO MANY BAD CHANGED AND THE STASIS IS STUPID OP, WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY OP.

So sick of nerf after nerf after nerf after nerf after nerf
-
1 ReplyI've been playing this game for years and just learned with this last TWAB that the WoD sword could even take damage.
-
3 RepliesBungie logic, Titan Bubble is stronger with higher resilience make sense there class is built on resilience. Warlock class runs on the recovery stat bungie u need max resilience. Counter intuitive
-
6 RepliesAs usual the only reason to nerf these two is to SQUEEZE more life from existing content to make it more "difficult." Have fun with Master VoG next season lol
-
5 RepliesEdited by Deus: 8/9/2021 5:17:31 PMCan someone explain to me why a bubble taking more damage matters? Can they even be broken before the timer expires? Also, WTF does it mean to freeze the Dawnblade sword?
-
1 ReplyHonestly the funny magic healy sword having more health based on res is a little weird since warlocks don’t really speck into res, like at all. Titans it makes more sense since their class ability uses res
this is all big bungies and big gamings plan for a resilience based meta, god help us all
-
7 Replies“I’m gonna spec for 100 resilience” - no warlock ever.
-
The only thing I find bizarre is warlock primarily benefit from recovery so why is it being made that you have to spec resilience to help other than the obvious to reduce our effectiveness with our current builds
-
So from now one just abuse the infinite fart missile strategy on Templar, got it. 😎🤙
-
4 RepliesIt's a massive nerf, especially for bubble. The res stat is the most useless stat in the game. Rec and mob at least have real world usefulness....
-
I run 100 resilience on my Titan anyways, so this nerf doesn’t really affect me
-
Edited by Dredgen Truth: 8/9/2021 2:57:00 AMThe thing I think nobody is talking about is that most bosses are incapable of targeting wells and bubbles unless a player causes them to shoot it by accident, so unless it's against bosses with serious splash damage like atheon well will be nearly unaffected, and in atheon it won't matter anyways since you can basically spam well with times vengeance. As for bubble, most people never actually stay in it any longer than they need to to get weapons up, so the same applies.

The replies are making me embarrassed to be a part of this community Apparently "bosses" now means every enemy and every encounter in the game now 🤦
