Make Energy Accelerant a weapon mod and replace dragonfly spec with it
Dragonfly feels useless without dragonfly spec and now we have both firefly and chain reaction which do similar things but better. So why not make energy accelerant a permanent weapon mod and replace dragonfly spec with it or make EA an adept mod

Energy Accelerant would make more sense as an adept mod, since that way Crownsplitter no longer works with it (therefore no need to fix it) and it can still buff Firefly, Dragonfly, Chain Reaction, etc, on whatever adept/timelost weapons roll with them.

Edited by FL00FING AB0UT: 7/30/2021 8:04:27 PMYeah, Energy Accelerant seems like an easy choice to do this with. Dragonfly spec has basically been depreciated by the addition of Firefly to legendary weapon rolls. There needs to be one that works for them all (Dragonfly, Chain Reaction, Firefly).

Even though it doesn't list it, Reservoir Burst appears to get the damage increase, I'd guess that the code for it is very closely related to that of Chain Reaction. Maybe tone down the effectiveness a little bit, for the sake of balance. The mod is incredibly good but the inability to use it alongside Breach & Clear is preventing it from seeing the usage it deserves.

5 RepliesKind of wish the mod section was used to grant your weapon the special perk like dragonfly, kill clip, rampage etc. imagine a loot system where the weapons were special based on their stats or attachments like stability perks (zen moment, killing wind etc) and the mod section is used to give them an extra bit of power. I find that to be really cool, no longer would I have to force myself to choose consistency over niche. Players could grind for weapon stats and have the power to give their legendaries any damage dealing perk they so choose.

Or make Energy Accelerant an Adept Mod. Either way this is actually a good idea that way we don't just lose it all together like oppressive darkness

I'd be happy with a toned down Energy Accelerant; I'm aware that it, like all Seasonal Mods, is completely busted. But the fact that Dragonfly Spec exists but there's -blam!- all for Chain Reaction and Firefly (and maybe Expolsive Payload and Lasting Impression) is a problem.

3 RepliesDear god no. As much as it is extremely fun an completely busted (looking at you Crown splitter), having it as a permanent mod would not be good for pve in the long run. Having it leave at the end of this season is the best play.

Yes! Why do dragonfly/spec still exist anymore? Should have just brought firefly back across the board.

7 RepliesOr, like someone said before, make it to where dragonfly adds an effect based on the element. For example, arc would blind nearby enemies, solar would burn and void supress.

fix it with things it's not supposed to work with like Crown Splitter, keep the effect for exotics like Sunshot and Grav Lance

3 RepliesHow does this fix anything? Dragonfly will still be "bad" compared to the other "explode on death" area effects since all of them will benefit from Energy Accelerant. How about you just say why you really want it: more Crown Splitter Spam.

5 RepliesIt really depends on the gun imo. Seems to me the effectiveness of Dragonfly ties to either the range or impact stat. Get a low impact auto Age Old Bond and the perk is just bad. Put it on a Hand Cannon and it does very well.
