Bad matchmaking, peer-to-peer connection and lack of proper support for the pvp side of the game lead to a horrible experience for the average to below average player. The only players having fun are the top 1% and they are having fun at the expense of other players. They get to pubstomp and crap on other players with no consequences. It really sucks, because I love pvp but the constant imbalance and poor experience in pvp lately has caused me to not want to play. The constant spawn trapping is also really turning me off from pvp too, but thats a whole other rant that I won't get into.

We can only speculate as to why they removed SBMM. We can only speculate why they have left the PvP game without any fun game modes remaining where there are not routine massive - MASSIVE - disparities of skill. No, Survival alone is far too meagre and unvaried an offering to be considered sufficient. There was a concerted effort by the high table cabal of streamers at the time to make coordinated posts against SBMM. These included threats to leave the game and other throwing toys out their prams. Without crossplay (not that its enablement alone will be a fair solution) a fractured and lowered player pool may lead to issues sustaining it. Of course this is short sighted for player retention - more a move of desperation than player consideration or overall game health. It's implementation was problematic, namely an overly narrow selection pool. And like Sunsetting, burning the whole house down rather than make intelligent adjustment is the modus operandi. Perhaps for these reasons and more they deemed non- meta running, lower skilled, casual, beginner players acceptable casualties. They do this despite continuing to force those players into participating via various required objectives, thus mandating them to be cannon-fodder. It's a rigged game. Whether anything ultimately comes of the promised for Skill tiers rollout, it will be too little, far, far too late.

Because the higher level players need to keep their inflated KD up to snuff. PVP population is shrinking to the point where they will be the only ones playing.
