A month ago someone broken into my car trying to steal it but they couldn’t now i can’t even put the key in all the way because the person really -blam!-ed up the ignition switch. I gotta get the car towed in a few days only problem is getting it out the parking lot since i live in a apartment complex.

2 RepliesReplacing the ignition switch would be easiest. Should be no more than a few screws/ bolts and a couple terminations. Maybe a harness depending on how new your car is. May also have to program a new key, but that is usually as simple as turning the key a few times and stepping on pedals in the correct order. Don’t pay a dealership $150 to do a 2 minute job programming keys. If you have an old hulk and the ignition is already hooped you could just do the ol’ flat screwdriver and 2 1/2lbs sledge job (which is what the attempted thief did already by the sounds of it), but I only recommend that as an ultimate last resort deal.
