PS5 black screen when loading into crucible
I haven’t been able to find anything about this issue specifically, so hopefully someone here has some insight. Everything in destiny and every other game I’ve played works perfectly except when I try to play crucible. As soon as I should spawn into the game, my screen goes completely black. The sound still works fine (i.e. game sounds, console sounds, tv menu sounds) and it seems like I can control things, but the black screen persists until I am inevitably kicked back to orbit.
I thought it was just a game bug, but going to the home menu of my ps5 doesn’t get rid of the black screen, and trying to open the input menu on my tv will not show either. However, I don’t know what it could be besides a game bug as it does not happen in any other game. I’ve tried turning hdr on/off as well as enabling 120hz in pvp, but no luck.

Omg i‘m so happy to find this post. I‘ve exactly same issue since friday 20.02.22 after getting my new 4k144hz/2.1hdmi monitor. I tried everything: changing my hdmi cable, changing ports, turning off/on ps5 and finally i unplug the monitor and pluged in back and i got videooutput. Idk why, but for some reason it brings the only the videooutput to crash/blackscreen (sound/ interacting in menu/shooting etc works because i can hear it). Also turning into blackscreen for few seconds when i launch the game. So weird how they programmed this game🤷🏽 Hope there is a solution or they are investigating this issue! Bungie help us!!!

1 ReplyI have the same problem. The only workaround I know right now is to go to the PS5 and hold down the power button. Then restart it and get back in to the game immediate and it will join you back in to the same crucible game. Even works for Trials. I thought i lost my flawless card, but managed to join my two team mates and secure the game. It's scary though. It seems to happen every 20 crucible games or so. It's not consistent. I even tried not being in the menu to check load outs and it has still happened. I play 120hz mode for crucible, so it's something that goes wrong when D2 switches graphics mode...
