Figured I’d “retweet” True Vanguards into the forums, and see how many Hunters come crawling out the woodwork with pitchforks…
Hot take, Hunters being the only class that can break aim assist with a movement ability is unfair in PVP. Either every class should have that option or none. It breaks a core element of console gaming and adds built-in forgiveness for a select group.
So, TO BE CLEAR, I never said they shouldn't have a dodge roll. They can have a directional change ability that helps that immediately on command lunge in any direction they choose and break out of engagements and lanes. I said they shouldn't break aim assist.

37 RepliesTitans being the only class that can put up a barrier to block damage in PvP is unfair Warlocks being the only class that can drop a healing ability on the ground for themselves and their whole team in PvP is unfair Can literally do this with just about any ability on any class… Most abilities are “unfair” in an FPS PvP setting

They have too much mobility period.

1 ReplyI mean, yeah, but to be completely fair, you can’t fight back while in the dodge, and it takes time to ready and ADS. And I’d argue that all 3 class abilities have built in forgiveness. Warlocks can drastically increase the TTK on them due to Rift healing automatically in between shots. If they were to add aim assist onto dodge, they should be very careful as to how much there is. Otherwise, it could make dodge a negative in some situations unless you are hugging a corner.

......i keep forgetting hunters dodge does that
-
Aren't we also forgetting that stompees high jump is so immediate and so far that it both breaks aim assist and melee lunge?
-
But, but, but Titan and Warlock are OP. Remember. That’s what all Hunters say.
-
Dodge is OP and has been for years. It rewards them for bad positioning
-
3 RepliesThey also are the only class that can ascend ....while descending. Titan and Warlocks just continually descend.
-
I'd rather stealth not fully remove them off the radar. Always thought that it made them show up on radar like crouch does but I found out that wasn't the case.

81 RepliesYes. It's been a problem for years, and its why Hunters dominate at almost all levels of competitive player. They have a movement ability that lets them quickly exit a lane when taking fire. Its on one of the shortest cooldowns in the game. You have lots of exotics that tie other abilities and bonuses to the use of that dodge. ...and it breaks aim-assist AND ability/weapon tracking. Thereby neutralizing a number of warlock abilities. Yep. Sounds balanced.
-
15 RepliesHunters have been and will always be the most dominant class in D2. They have the best abilities, movement, exotics, subclasses, supers, melees, etc. by far. Of course they will downvote any post that undermines their superiority, as they are the majority, and to Bungie, as long as they are printing money, class balance be damned. Nothing will ever change until the game dies.
-
17 RepliesDont forget about icarus grip the only mod that 100% supports hunters.

4 RepliesEdited by Animal Mother: 7/24/2021 9:58:54 PMDodge vs rifts vs barriers.. dodge isn’t nearly as useful in pve. Stop making this game about pvp only. Pvp is dying. No new maps in how many days/months/years? No new modes.. trials is a shit show. Dodge is fine, a little under powered imo regarding pve. Otherwise it’s in a good place for both modes

Have you ever fought a titan that knows how to use the barricade, it’s god damn terrifying. So no stop being silly. Every class has it’s strength, but if you really want a buff for the other classes just lower the activation time.

1 ReplyIt's confirmed. There is nothing you people will not cry about!

1 ReplyEverybody talking about breaking aim assist. And I get headshot out of mine 70% of the time going in or out of a fire fight lol 50/50 that last 30 for close encounters which it's meant for honestly. Which. I still get meleed out of. Or my dodge doesn't kick me into third person and I barely dodge. Then. Yeah.. But the grenade thing. I totally understand. Nerf that.

Wrong

Technically a titan throwing up barricade breaks aim assist. I think icarus dash does as well and so does blink. Also dodge doesn't breaks so much as it reduces. In Y1 it broke it but I believe in Y2 it got nerfed so it didn't break but reduce aim assist. Best example is how tracking projectiles can still follow hunters after dodging.
-
I think the only thing unfair is that you can dodge to make half of grenades useless.
-
7 RepliesWarlocks have Icarus Dash, and Blink, break aim assist and doesn't take much to initiate it. Hunter dodge has a time restraint so it's not like they can do it constantly. I haven't figured out how to use the Titans in the same effect, but I go around and just tank everything with them anyways.
-
I feel like every class should be able to dodge roll, hip fire while sprinting, and Titans should be slower, but tankier. Let Hunters get 2 rapid rolls on a cooldown.
-
6 RepliesDodge no longer breaks aim assist, it breaks tracking.
