I understand that this is "Bungie's platform", "They're are private business", & all the other arguments for why its ok to violate people's first amendment....Non of them make it ok period! What makes it worse is you get no actual reasoning for a locked thread nor any recourse to find out exactly what they're calling "Hate speech". I guess telling someone they're a moron is "Hate speech" now. A weak term, Made up by and for weak people but hey, Cant cure weaknesses in everyone. This is farcical all the same, Give people a little power and they go way overboard with nonsensical policies that violate the first amendment but its ok bc they're a private business! I threatened NO ONE, I CALLED FOR NO VIOLENCE, I SAID NOTHING RACIST, Stop being authoritarian dbags!

They are not violating your first amendment by laying down ground rules for their platform.

Edited by Seraphim Crypto: 7/13/2021 8:36:29 PMAll this text just to ignore that it's Disrespect/Hate Speech, and not just Hate Speech. If the one reason we can choose doesn't fit, then the other probably does. And calling someone a moron is Disrespectful in my book. Could have chosen Harassment/Personal Attack/Bullying too. Anyway, as this is a private website, Bungie can govern it however they see fit - which you agreed too when you accepted their Terms of Service and used this forum. They can throw you out for any or no reason, just as much as you can remove any unwanted guest from your private property. I suggest you read up on the Code of Conduct: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/CodeOfConduct Also, as the Terms mention, if you don't agree with these rules you can always stop Bungie's Services. I am now closing this topic.

LOL. First amendment rights have nothing to do with this at all.

First amendment only covers censorship from the government. A private person or entity is free to disagree with you or your beliefs, and and also have the right to choose to keep it out of their private territories. In this specific case, you’re a dbag, and bungie has the right to say “hey, we don’t like dbags lipping off to people in our forums, so let’s remove this guy”... just the same as a user has the right to block you, which is also censorship on a personal level.

Bungie not letting you be a jerk on the forums =/= authoritarians.
