Just get a PC and ignore all this 'next gen' bullshit and split playerbases. Imagine how hard console players are going to rage next season when crossplay is enabled and PC just roflstomps over everyone with easymode controls.

It’s something that bungie can’t fix the new gen doesn’t see the old gen as a matchmaking option. It’s not on bungie to fix that it’s the way the Xbox/ps5 forces you to buy one. Bungie cant fix this issue. So sadly we are in the same position l. And I do acknowledge your frustration. I am a decent player and idd rather not play unless we have a old gen with us

I feel like it was miss sold . I moved from PS4 to series S for better field of view and faster loading and 60fps, and cross play, sounds great yeah. In reality, sure it's a much better experience however mm is real bad in Europe, Xbox numbers are already very low here, and splitting it by generations means very often I'll do 2 man strikes, 3v3 gambit, 5v5 crucible, and when it's iron banner week the rest if the game is afk. I had 10-15 wait times during iron banner, to play mayhem. I played thru SK and BL and had to do the 2 strikes alone as there was no one to match with. And the kicker, the majority of my lobbies in PvP is series X users, on 120fps, whilst I'm stick on 60. Seems like a minor gripe but they can pop out and shoot me before I see them, they move too fast to track, and it feels like I'm 1 shot nonstop even though it's 2-3 shots. I've popped my thundercrash and been killed after using it and spawn still wit my super. There's lots of little niggles with this and it makes PvP almost unplayable, I've had 1.75 kdr in all games for many years, give or take, even destiny 2 which was lower granted, around 1.4 but that's fine bcoz it's cheese central, but on series S I often go 0.30. I've spoke to people in-depth about this and they say 120 is a huge advantage over 60, they're also on monitors and have 0 input lag and I'm on a big TV. Went back to standard Xbox one and posted 2s and 3s, it's like a different game. I've considered going back to PS4 but i spend most of my time in pve so I've decided to just not play PvP until it's full cross play, other than mayhem, and even that's frustrating as hell, dying in my super and spawning still with it. It's a tiny advantage, but it's still 50% more frames and enoug to totally ruin the experience

Yes next gen vs old gen is so fair, bc we want to face players with bigger advantages in competitive areas. 120 frames vs 30 frames 105 fov vs 72 fov Yes totally fair.

I don’t think this is true in trials. I’m on new gen and when I matchmake I get much easier lobbies than my friends on old gen

My question is why do they separate the pools at all ?

Crossplay is coming. They kind of have to make it first. Other than that Bungie doesn't produce consoles or CPUs/GPUs.

Play on the previous gen edition of the game until the population on next gen grows. Currently, even getting a next gen console is a monumental task, but it'll get better with time.
