1 Replywhy do you play this game then?
-
3 RepliesSpecial is fine . The issue is map size an team size.
-
87 RepliesNo. Bungie just refuses to let primary weapons kill fast enough to allow them to properly balance special weapons. As a result, someone with a shotgun can dominate practically out to mid-range. Because primaries kill so slowly that I can simply jsut RUN at you with that shotgun and kill you if you try to stand your ground and fight.... ....and if I can't close, then there's plenty of time to run away to cover. So there is practically NO disadvantages to running around and spamming a shotgun until you run out of ammo for it. Because the guy with a primary isn't a threat you have to respect unless he's teamshooting.

1 ReplyNah. I went Flawless twice this week with the MIDA. Admittedly it's an easy week to go Flawless. But still. Shotty and fusion can only go so far and the MIDA pre fire flinches even the best snipers on Xbox.
-
11 RepliesSo what you're saying is, you don't like playing Destiny?
-
1 ReplyNah, special weapon spam is just the symptom of much bigger issues. Piss poor special ammo economy, scavenger perks, and map design.
-
1 ReplyI played some ib yesterday and I kept getting jrammed by the trials HC. That gun is good
-
4 Replies+3 weapon style, locked down, no change, either forfeit the match or wait until the end. Peoples bad choices should reflect the outcome!
-
1 ReplyDont you have 15k kills with shotguns.?
-
14 RepliesWe tried double primary and that almost killed the game.
-
10 RepliesI do find most of the "high tier" players rely on their special OHK crutch weapons far more than their primaries

Edited by Jeidd: 7/6/2021 2:54:50 PMPpppff, pezch, BOOM, bruuuuupla go the main special weapons that people use
-
1 ReplyYou miss spelled handcannons
-
5 RepliesEdited by NYDIBS: 7/5/2021 8:52:07 PMThere’s nothing wrong with specials. Take them out and the game is dead. We don’t need another team shot boring meta
-
1 ReplyLuckily that’s just your opinion In my opinion, special weapons is what makes Destiny pvp even remotely interesting It’s the ability spam that’s a bit too much

1 ReplyEdited by Hawpy: 7/5/2021 11:15:23 PMJust something I've picked up on, by reading some comments on here. Please can people learn the difference between Primary and Special versus Kinetic and Energy? Primary weapons take white ammo bricks, Specials take green, both can be either Kinetic or Energy. A Solar Pulse Rifle is not a Special weapon, nor is a Kinetic Grenade Launcher a Primary weapon. For instance, to quote the comment below this one at the time of writing:
Special should only drop from kinetic weapon kills
This would mean that a Kinetic Shotgun, such as Astral Horizon, could generate its own ammo forever without needing the enemy to have even had a Special weapon equipped.
-
1 ReplySpecial should only drop from kinetic weapon kills
-
3 RepliesSo do hand cannons
-
73 RepliesYes it really does. Too much special ammo drops. I can undestand special weapons that use primary ammo, like an auto rifle, handcannon, side arm, bow, scouts, because it allows you to engage in a legit gun fight. But with weapons like special grenade launchers, shotguns, fusion rifles, that can 1 shot you, takes away from the legit gun fight experience. Especially when theres so much special ammo dropping every 5 seconds, that you dont even need to draw your kinetic weapon. Pvp needs to be fixed in that regard.
-
3 RepliesMy option “NO they don’t, we have a shotgun problem not a special problem” And they are only a problem because primaries have to slower body shot time to kill. Decrease the body shot TTK of primaries and that will decrease there average TTK and apes won’t be able to ape.
-
3 RepliesWhat should be done, is a more barebones game mode without special. Lower super charge rates, and more focus on gunplay. Keep the primary TTK the way it is. Initially, I thought this was what momentum control would be, but definitely is not. Then they can evaluate the numbers of players in this game mode, and see how it stacks up against the current standard game mode. I personally do not care for special weapons much, but thats my play style. Sure, I am leaving damage on the table, but I prefer to play this way... others dont.

2 RepliesY1 is one of my favorite eras of PvP if not my favorite.
-
Edited by Last Spartan: 7/5/2021 8:42:00 PMI agree. And I warned people nonstop that Forsaken would decimate PvP (back in Y1, special weapons weren't a thing, good times...), and in response, they just ridiculed me, flamed me, and crapped on me every time. It's all good though, because everytime I look at my now 15,000 kills with Fusion Rifles (and counting), and get hate mail after a match for using a Fusion, I just laugh to myself, because I'd bet that those guys are the same people who praised Forsaken for making this game into "Destiny 1.5". So, enjoy. With all that being said though, I won't reply to any comments on this post. People always start crying when I share my opinion that Destiny 2 Y1 was the best this game has ever been, and I really don't feel like arguing about subjective matters or dealing with keyboard warriors.

1 ReplyHave you read the TWAB? This is already being addressed lmao
-
Specials as a whole? No, they definitely arnt as bad as you make them out to be. Scavs and shotguns (Looking at you Felwinters)? Yeah, those are the problems. The whole sandbox is bad if you ask me, if say napalm it all and try again.

Something always ruins the game for someone. I often ask myself why play then. Oh well.
