I don’t need help with a 1280 strike…
Tell me why match making for GM nightfalls or Master Nightfalls or even Trials or Raids is a bad idea especially when they can go sour real quick anyway???

Edited by anansispider: 6/28/2021 7:43:54 PMEndgame needs accountability and communication as opposed to just leaving etc. Also encourages some sort of respect in fireteams. Edit: But maybe Master and GMs are that level. Definitely GMs can't have matchmaking. Below master, it would make sense. But match game communication is necessary even below then.

Having extensively worked with LFG in raids and such, I can tell you it would not be pleasant

1 ReplyEdited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 6/29/2021 9:37:44 PMBlueberries can't even pass the orb in the corrupted strike. Blueberries dont know what to do in the blind well with orbs when its the big ogre as the final boss. You really think these players can handle matchmaking for raids & grandmasters? No way 😂 These same players that don't equip champion mods for the nightfalls that are matchmade.

2 RepliesMatchmaking for Legend NF - god yes, Bungie pls Master NF - I could see it, once you are at or near level its not overly difficult GMs - this is heavily dependant on what the GM in question is. Arms Dealer could probably be cleared by a matchmade team fairly reliably, but something like Corrupted, Glassway or Proving Grounds actually really do require pretty heavy communication and strategizing. Trials - Bungie are looking into allowing matchmaking by the sounds of things, or at least a way for solo players to engage. Raids - LMAO if you want to utterly waste all of your time, go for it. I cannot see this working in any capacity, at all. Sorry.

If people seem to coop well in Override they sure could manage the raids as well. I think that is STUPID not being able to matchmake whatever we please! And make it 3-6 players regardless of content. If people want to solo, fine let them, give them a special badge or banner for completing such things, i just enjoy playing and blowing sh*t up, so i could not care less about achievements and badges. I do like the gear and want new shiny things! Have you seen the glitch where 12 people do the raids? That is really funny Games are all about having fun. Destiny2 is a sandbox, so give us the proper tools.

People failed 12 man raids yet you want matchmaking for endgame content? That's funny

17 RepliesI feel like there should be match making because this is a choice people can make for themselves you don't need to Bar people out of content if they wanna risk playing with randoms then let them you never know you might get the right people at the right time 😂 tbh they should make mics a requirement tho for raids like people have suggested
-
Everything should have OPTIONAL matchmaking
-
Afk farmers and quitters, basically. I know, if people would only not be total douches matchmaking would be a good idea.

30 RepliesBecause people think we’re too stupid to realize we’re blindly lfging in game instead of blindly lfging outside the game. And if someone mentions that dumbass raid report, I’ll do something.

10 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 6/26/2021 4:52:10 PMBecause their main concern is profit and they bank on maximizing profit by near forcing you to either/both: A. Drag and nag your friends to play - which makes them more money. B. Join and play enough to remain in semi-social gamer "clans" - playing more, which makes them more money. Or you'll suffer the deprivation of loot, mods, materials, lower droprates and content of the minimally catered for matchmade soloplay. Or you'll suffer the trials of non-integrated LFG random snotty adolescents and squeaky kids in with occasional reasonable player. A and B are the overarching marketing plans for Destiny 2 and it's designed that way so as to pull money in from them... at other players cost.

2 RepliesEdited by Dr Obstacle: 6/27/2021 9:48:01 PMHmmm... Lotta strong feelings on this, and it makes me scratch my head and wonder what could mitigate the problems people are grousing over. I agree that just opening matchmaking to higher level activities could have disastrous, unintended side effects. On the other hand, as a guy who's on all the time and doesn't have a lot of friends and clanmates who are, finding fireteams for some activities can be really, really frustrating. I like grinding Master as opposed to GMs (SO much less fuss), but it's hard to get a team together on a weekend when Trials is running. Now that Presage and Harbinger have been around for months, there should be a matchmaking option for both, as neither depends too much on mechanics knowledge to get the job done. I've waited hours to find team-ups for both of those, to the point where I finally got frustrated and burned four hours of play time soloing Harbinger (I did it, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it fun). With the time limit, Soling Master Presage is just too daunting to all but the sweatiest of PVE try-hards. I wanted to suggest that dungeons might open up a matchmaking option after a certain number of completions, but then I remembered that several people sometimes play on a single account. I'm cool with being matchmade with GamerCHick834573948 in the Prophecy dungeon, but if her boyfriend whose normal jam is Animal Crossing is using her account, then maybe not so much. Maybe a matchmaking option appears for those who get their Pinnacle gear score up to a certain... nah, then we just run into the same problem. Thoughts? Anyone?

Edited by Freak: 6/27/2021 10:04:12 PMLoL I only wish they would make it all optional MM. just so I get to see your wasted hours on MM GMs or a Raid. You’d have a better chance of winning the lottery but if you want to bang your head against a wall I wished they’d accommodate you. Can’t wait to see all the different complaints about bad players or players not speaking the same languages. Finding/ making an LFG post is as easy as you making this post on Bnet. There’s not optional MM on End Game Content for a Reason…..
-
The average destiny player simply doesn’t have the skills to be useful in match made endgame content
-
Cuz destiny is a "social game"
-
2 RepliesSure let's make it happen You guys want to handle this dumpster fire...go fully in it
-
I don’t think it should be on GMs since those are the top of endgame content. They should be done with communication. Same thing with raids. You need communication and you can’t guarantee it with matchmaking. Everything else I’m indifferent about
-
Because bungie is dumb and one of thier gave devs has "ptsd" from an matchmaking in other games.
-
The majority of teams you get together through clans or LFG tend to get through content just fine. Matchmaking on raids would actually be abominable. I could see GMs being absolutely horrible too. Master and Legend would be fine. Trials would also probably be fine.

2 RepliesI don’t think you want trials match making…
-
15 RepliesBecause you people already find it too hard to equip anti champion mods in 6 man matchmade low light required activities. So i have no hope for anything even slightly more difficult.

I say matchmaking everything Nightfall related

2 RepliesI want Bungie to do this, the track how many teams fall apart.

I’d love for trials, raids, GM, and master nightfalls to have matchmaking but it’s just not really a good idea. Lookin at the issue at a glance it looks nice, but stare at it for a bit and you notice the rough imperfections. 1. Players are a melting pot of unpredictable actions. Some will brave the waters upstream as a team, and others would rather let the river take them. I.E. don’t expect every match to be perfect. 2. LFG. It exists for a reason but it’s flawed. Sometimes it’s hard to find a group true but eventually you’ll get a good one. Start your own and be sure to tell the people who join what your expecting of them. Don’t be over commanding and harsh (trust me those players just weed themselves out eventually). 3. Players and you! Some players are just well........ yeah. Just like at work you don’t have to like them to do your job. Just keep your eyes up and centered (or crossed idk) and push through. But that doesn’t always guarantee victory. Though runs and matches go wrong there are still many instances where many succeed. In fact those who do play well together in said group will see success because they get along. Even randoms can learn to work together after a little chatting and planning. On the other hand though matchmaking usually puts the player in the mindset of instant gratification. Where if it’s match made then it should be easy and won’t require much work on their part. Then they mentally disconnect and just play till something happens even if they accomplish nothing. As with some current matchmaking game modes you’ll have the AFK players and general malcontents that just want to joke around. There’s not much you can do for this, and a veto or vote to kick system would just be abused to harass were it actually implemented. PR sacrifices would have to be made in this case. Honestly it would work but with this ever inclusive mentality that runs rampant in today’s society the feature would just cause more harm to bungie than good. Bad PR is still bad PR (Public Relations). Well this has been fun and I hope this eases some of your thoughts. I could think of others but then I’d be here all night typing about something that will never change...... just like my love life. You ever wonder why we’re here?
