This is kind of a suggestion for Bungie, especially after asking quite a few people and reaching a unanimous answer with everyone I've asked.
So, after watching the Halo Infinite trailers, I was filled with both disappointment and amazement when it came to a lot of things about the upcoming game. One of the things thst really amazed me was their progression system and Season Pass system, more so the ability to go back and earn past Season Passes that are no longer up especially by the players choice. So, what I'm suggesting as well wanting to get some feedback on a larger scale about the idea is this.
What if after we completed our Season Passes which most players do in an extremely short time when grinding away at our beloved Destiny. What if we could go back and select a past Season Pass to progress through and unlock rewards from? In the exact same manner that Halo Infinite offers? Obviously only available after completing the current Season. Past 100, as it involves a a lot of things involved with the current season for players to understand lorewise and more.
For example, ill just use an example for myself.. Season of the Undying was a very good season with some amazing rewards, but unfortunately, a lot of things came up in my personal life and I only made it to level 50, missing out on a large chunk of the rewards, especially that gorgeous Vex armor set. My cousin had a similar view with Season of Arrivals. My dear friend's response to this was "Well yeah, dude the majority of us already paid for the season with the season pass, if we stop playing for a bit, why not go back and earn things we missed out on? I'd love to grind out past rewards." Also I have friends I've longed convinced to return to Destiny and most can be disallusioned by rewards as a lot of past items or season pass rewards can catch their eyes a bit.
Anyway, I think Bungie should take a few notes from that system and they can maximize more rewards for those who are willing to grind out the game and unlock many rewards that catch their eye. Or if Bungie wanted to maximize an income on it, or make a profit on it, those who use silver to purchase Season Ranks would extend their wallets. But for the majority of us, Think of how many people will want to jump on that to access and earn some amazing finishers and offers from the past with game hours things they missed out on. It would be such a welcoming thing for players who missed out to come back to.
Wanted to get some feedback on something larger for Bungie and the player base to take part in and maximize their grinding efforts. :)

5 RepliesImagine Bungie actually taking FOMO out of the game. While also telling you that they are removing 75% of the content before Beyond Light. What I'm saying is remember who you're interacting with. They don't have the best track record.

3 RepliesEdited by CookieNiki: 6/26/2021 4:40:42 PMBungie should just let players earn the incomplete levels of old season passes by using the excess levels of current and future season passes. Like, if I get to 130 in this current season pass, those extra 30 levels should translate in some kind of currency or points that would allow me to get rewards from older season passes that I didn't unlock. This approach would get rid of FOMO and would give meaning to those extra ranks we get. It would even make more people buy the season passes, imo. It goes without saying that this "feature" should only be allowed for those who bought the old season passes. Let's see if Bungie statement that they wanted to get rid of FOMO wasn't just another blatant lie (as it surely seems to be, as of now).

12 RepliesEdited by RumHamLvl9999: 6/26/2021 5:13:04 PMBungie is not working on Halo infinite, lol. That's why their FOMO system is crap and they reissue gear instead of making actual new content. Don't forget each season so far has been do activity x10-do similar activity x2-go to helm-Do activity x10- do similar activity x2-0 now go do playlist activity x1 multiple times, or x3 or x4 whichever one you want numb your brain with. Now go do activity x10 again, this time its on a different planet!! and vex are there now! Now go so similar activity x2 v 2, which is actually the exact same activity as similar activity x2, except now there's taken!! Don't forget how awful implemented transmog is in this game!( please let me know lol i refuse to take part! for science.) Halo infinite is actually being designed as a joyful, fun experience. that's the difference. also, now that I think about they can monetize the old season pass reward tracks in D2 now! thanks a bunch.

1 ReplyI don’t even care if you can’t re buy them, I paid for season of the dawn, got to rank 100 but can’t claim the warlock gear because I didn’t select my warlock in that time period, it’s stupid things like that which annoy me about the season pass

8 RepliesDon’t Get the Sweaty No lifers all Juiced up !!!! You Had To Be Here !!! Lmao Except a lot of people who can’t . Like one of my old clan mates who is in the Navy and on assignment for months on end . Missed a season and then some , he didn’t come back to the game . Fail-gie could easily implement a system to activate multiple season passes loot trees . Just highlight the season you want to dump XP into and that’s where it goes . when your done buy and switch to another one you didn’t finish or get to even play during because you had a life or a Duty . We have jobs , lives , families , responsibilities. Sometimes we can play maybe an hour a week . But to Bungie we’re Second Class Gaurdians . They preach that They make the game for all of us but Shaft those who can’t play 10hrs a day .

I don't mind allowing people to earn the rewards if they played the season and had the pass, but didn't complete it. Otherwise it feels like your experience and exclusive rewards for playing at that time are given away for free

3 RepliesNah you had to be there.
-
1 ReplyGood idea but it will never work with this company
-
No, had to be there.

1 ReplyThe seasons are plenty long enough enough that this does not at all need to be a thing. Does anyone realize that we're on the tail end of the 7TH WEEK of this season and we still have more than 50 DAYS left? How much time do you need to complete it? Seriously?

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
They should make an archive system where you can flip through past seasons and purchase ones you don't have and select which season you want to give XP to I usually get to level 100 in a week or 2 every season so this doesn't effect me , but if they have to pay the same has I did and grind the same has I did ,then I'm all for it -
1 ReplyHalo MCC did it based on community feedback (I take credit) I’ve asked every game with season passes to do it, but only halo thought it was a good idea. Other games only listens to streamers, so don’t expect bungie to listen.

It’s just a matter of time now and when they’ll adopt the Halo BP System.

1 ReplyD2 seasons basically boil down to a new seasonal activity and a few story missions with excessive grinding of old content to fill the gameplay loop that bungie wants you to do...nowadays I hit a wall of apathy around level 50 or so...honestly I dont think bungie has anything to lose with at least letting you earn any of the items in the season pass in later seasons.
-
40 RepliesNo... halo is a PvP only game only way to get level in the battle pass is to play PVP while Destiny you gain exp for it by doing anything....every week there's challenge that give you full level up.... I get it it can be frustrating to have miss on stuff because for some reason you decided to not play....but overall what you missed? Some cosmetics? You guys seriously up and arm about wanting to buy old pass to get the cosmetics but ever wear selling cosmetic is lazy and greedy? Seriously ....you guys complaining over nothing ....it's not even hard to get rank 100....if you can't get it done during a whole season im not sure D2 is a fit for you.....

3 RepliesAnyone who skips seasons and thinks I play this game I deserve everything will agree. It’s amazing that destiny is the most accommodating and accessible as it has ever been by a mile. It’s crazy how that’s still not enough. Instead of people being thankful that almost every exotic is handed out for a farmable material or almost every eververse armor set they demand more. Whenever you point this noticeable change in the overly indulged community people get really mad and attempt to justify why causal player who took extensive breaks deserve to be given all the cosmetics they missed. I get halo has a different season pass system but the master chief collection is also revamped decades old games. Seeing as 99% of cosmetics in destiny aren’t tied to any accomplishment or actually difficult activity any more I think having some (non gameplay essentials) tied to playing at a given time is without a doubt fair.
-
2 RepliesI wish it was a thing, but from business perspective it makes no sense.
-
I only returned in Arrivals, the ability to go back and work through old seasons would keep me engaged for months.
-
1 ReplyGood idea but bungie will never see it since it’s on their own website
-
It would be hard to make this work as most items including weapons and armor are sunset from previous season passes.
-
They could do "intermission" season passes towards the end of the year like how Warframe has intermissions between nightwaves. Put cosmetics from seasons past in the paid ranks, and guns/armor and other stuff in the free track. The "paid" track has parts that are free if you already owned the DLC (you owned Chosen but didn't play), but you still have to pay for the parts you don't own.
-
4 RepliesI don’t know about all the resources and materials and engrams, but I will say if you paid actual money for the season, the armor ornaments should be unlocked. That’s just a no-brainer. None of this FOMO, “you had three months” crap, the ornaments should be available at the very least.

Me want HAWKMOON but i will not pay for a legendary edition when i have GAME PASS!
-
2 RepliesDon’t expect to be able to access past seasons you already paid for but couldn’t complete for free as those 100 more levels would need to be redesigned. I however doubt management will take such policy, since it goes against “you had to be there” policy.
