The power requirement is an unnecessary and disappointing wall. Change my mind.
Not everyone can grind destiny endlessly. Some of us have responsibilities.
Remove the wall, problem solved.

16 RepliesLol at all the elitist assholes in this thread. Thinking their weeks of shitty grinding somehow makes them the special chosen guardians. This is a hangover from the Luke Smith vision of Destiny, a game for dopamine chasing monkeys that think they’re better just because they can mindlessly complete bounties for weeks on end.
-
I never saw the point of needing to grind out power for GMs anyways; it's immediately nullified by the contest mode.
-
VRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM
-
37 RepliesThat’s the point. The activity was designed with those in mind that are the more hardcore grinders. Let that crowd have one thing without having to cater to the casual audience of the game
-
1 Replyit s an endgame Nightfall. If you want to play it, get the requirement. and stop your crying baby
-
3 RepliesEdited by Lord Felwinter: 6/25/2021 11:49:49 AMNo it's not If you can't do it don't do it It's not for everyone No need to make the game more softcore than it is rn why should the game be adapted to your requirements and not you to the requirements of the game?

Remove the power level requirement to enter but keep the enemies at 1360.
-
1 ReplyYeah it's stupid. Apparently so are the majority of people replying. They could easily just make it the pinnacle cap, 1320 this season, and still have contest mode on. That literally changes nothing about the difficulty. For some reason people can't seem to understand that point.
-
18 RepliesThere truly are some no lifers and you brought them out in force with this one. These rewards are only for the elite awesome few that play over and over and over. They can sequence the same 3000 buttons in their sleep. They are offended by your threatening notion that you can beat this at a lower level. You better get good and level up here this bulls$&@ is getting deep and I couldn’t get the pinnacle boots to wade through it this week.
-
1 ReplyIt should just be contest of -25. Grinding bounties isn’t skilful in any way.
-
U can't be serious? Remember when we had to lower our power modifier for nightfalls. I guess u could ask for that back. But count me out.
-
Just get to 1315 and xp farm 20 levels
-
But then how's Bungo supposed to make y'all keep playing D2?? By making it fun and engaging?? You dreaming... Grinding artifact levels has been the endgame of the past 4 seasons and it would be next one as well.

7 RepliesEdited by svenkir: 6/23/2021 1:35:54 PMThere's a lot of people trashing you, but as someone who does GMs somewhat regularly, I have to say that you're right. Its already contest. What is the point of setting the level requirement at 15 above pinnacle cap? Would it not be equivalent to having contest set at 1320 with 1345 enemies? The challenge should not be "How quickly can you reach +15 (or higher) on my artifact?" The challenge should be "How well can I coordinate with my team and choose the best gear setup to get through this GM?" Granted, GMs arent usually that hard anyway

Edited by ShadowWing48: 6/23/2021 1:41:12 AMHonestly I agree. At least until power level actually does something aside from arbitrarily gatekeep, there's no need on GMs. Because the thing is, you're forced 25 power under anyways so just make GMs open after hitting the powerful cap and have it knock everyone down to the powerful cap and set it 25 above there.
-
Gear level should be removed entirely and they can just adjust enemies on difficulty setting. Gear grind and rng progression is just empty ass content.
-
4 RepliesDefinitely agree, a +15 requirement on the Artifact is arbitrary and just feels like I'm being asked if I did all my chores before I get to do what I actually want to do The difficulty of a GM comes from the set Power Level from the Contest modifier and the slew of other modifiers with no respawns and limited revives. They could set the requirement to the powerful cap and put the enemies whatever level above that and Contest would make it the exact same difficulty it is at current Feels like them just trying to justify the Power Bonus on the Artifact, which is pretty pointless to begin with, along with the Power Level system overall

6 RepliesEdited by MII 50 CAL: 6/22/2021 4:15:30 PMI think if the power cap was lowered my buddies and I could finally do them for once. I would suggest 1330 because that’s more doable Contrary to what some people believe, grandmasters aren’t available for everyone, due to work, school and other things that happen in life. We don’t have time to “rise and grind” to get 1335 to run grandmaster nightfalls. Nor is our RNG the best, I’ve gotten so many bonds and so many helmets it’s the D1 problem all over again
-
I do agree that since the nightfall inherently caps you put at 25 levels under, there is no reason for there to be a certain requirement to go into. Just make it the same level as the master or legend nightfall and keep the contest mode modifier so you're still capped out.
-
Stay in your lane
-
They have multiple levels of difficulty. Stick to masters.
-
GM's were built as the endgame's endgame, explicitly aimed at streamers and no-lifers. They aren't for everyone, by design. I think restrictions in general are BS, but they've made it clear who this part of the game is for. To change that would go against their design philosophy.
-
They can cap us at 1300 and make the night fall 1325 ... It will stay just as difficult as now with -25 light, but more people could participate.
-
People still don’t get that GMs aren’t meant to be accessible or even rewarding. The LL lock is Bungies carrot for the most dedicated players. It makes players grind to pinnacle cap or grind a huge about of artifact light in seasons that would be completely dead otherwise. It is a nothing grind that is meant to increase playtime. There is absolutely 0 reason otherwise. Especially since being higher doesn’t help you either. They just want a minimum playtime investment

I love the implication that no one with responsibilities could possibly reach GM level. I work 50 hours/week, have other responsibilities and volunteer positions, and spend loads of time with my wife and kids. I still reach GM level just fine. Having said all that, I don't at all disagree about removing the cap.
