The Drifter games....
straight up get rid of gambit, use the drifters machine and use it to instantly load us into a completely randomized sets of raid boss encounters.
6 people load into it, complete the boss encounter, then jump into a "portal" straight onto the next encounter and so on and so on...1 second your fighting atrax in space, next your toe to toe with the templar.... bosses included are any boss from any raid in the game at the present time.
Ammo and supers carry through rounds.
Rewards given on your 3rd 5th 7th boss completion. Adept version given for zero raid wipes throughout.
Full raid team wipes 3 times and your out of there start from scratch.
Master variant available on a weekend where you run a locked loadout throughout the entire thing at increased difficulty but are rewarded adept versions at each win milestone.
Bounties similar to zavalas but much higher in number ( defeat 100 combatants with your super)
Tokens can be used by fireteam leader and only once per attempt.
Token of bountifully light...allows for an additional 2 team revives before team extinguish.
Token of banners....allows use of raid banners pre engagement.
Token of cowardess..allows the firteam to skip 1 encounter(this will not account towards a win
Achievements emblems shaders etc can be applied to it all, and it directly makes all raids in the game relevant..last thing you need is to be on for your final win and tou get a shiro chi dropped on you with not a clue how to do it.

4 RepliesWe need a *Gambit* equivalent of Trials, not a *PvE* equivalent, that already exists.
-
3 RepliesYou cant do raid boss encounters as RANDOM LOAD IN. You have to set up for that. And you dont want randoms with you like a strike. 6 random people thrown into a random Raid boss encounter? Stupidest idea ever. We already have an equivalent to trials for PvE. Its the GRANDmaster nightfall. different boss each week. adept weapons same as trials. adept mods... ITS RIGHT in front of your face....

3 RepliesGambit Prime was that attempt at an end-game level version of Gambit. It was not well-recieved....and it split the player base of a game mode that wasn't big enough to warrant multiple verions of Gambit.

2 RepliesOh lord.. I can only imagine all the “must have anarchy” posts in lfg.

Seeing a lot of people saying we have GM and raids...this is very true! This is not something to replace them its a replace idea(hell maybe even a new game mode concept entirely with its own npc). There is a massive difference to the way a gm would play or a standard raid compared to having your raid teams knowledge and teamwork really strained up against a randomly generated set of raid encounters... limited team revives. This would not be a matchmade activity you would need to fill your own fire team(that would just be an absolute shit show) I am not asking for easy adept weapons, personally I think if you have a fireteam with knowledge and skill to take down 7 random raid bosses 1 after the other without wiping 3 times...that deserves an adept weapon.. It would not be a randomized load out...bring whatever guns you like, just the encounters themselves are completely random. And the locked weekend variant would be for the absolute pve monsters, where loadouts can not be carbon copies, you need a mix of most weapons, defensive offensive supers, spread across the entire fireteam, and every member of the team must be confident in running any role on, any encounter, any raid... depending on the loadout they work out with their fireteam, Thought I would try and clear that up as some comments seemed like they was replying to something else.

It was called reckoning. It's gone now. So are most of the good guns from it. Also, I know it's not part of the loot pool, but I miss trust. :'[

Raid.

I like Gambit though. I don't want it to go away

Sounds like a great idea! This community is filled with great ideas!

I love this idea! And it wouldn’t really cost Bungie much to put in, maybe Luke is listening right now

11 RepliesGambit is light years better than D2 raids but bad players were told to hate it from their favorite neckbeard streamer.

We have a PvE equivalent it's called Gms. I would suggest maybe a PvEvP end game mode though. Gambit is PvEvP and is supposedly one of the base playlists that makes up the game. Crucible and Strikes both have end game modes, but I agree that gambit needs an end game mode. Use the basic Gambit coding, make bigger maps, more health, more ads, less invades, less heavy, locked loadout?? Idk. Maybe have a big boss after the Primeval. Just had a strange thought about throwing in a few nightmare knights running around like in festival of the lost. Can't be killed , but will kill you. Weird idea, but it came to mind... I guess you could do another card thing, 3,5,7, flawless rewards per round. Tbh there's a lot of other problems that bungie should be working on rn.........

You mean, raids?

16 RepliesI thought the PvE equivalent to Trials was Raids or GM Nightfalls?
-
1 Replyyou got it backwards. Trials of Osiris was geared towards pvp players to be endgame content as raids are the endgame content for pve. But gambit should have a mode equivalent to a grandmaster nightfall.

While I like the idea of a structure like trials in PvE, the raids are far to easy for this, nothing to keep anyone engaged or to apply pressure.
-
3 RepliesPrison of elders was good, bring that back but with different difficulty levels so that people at each end of the playing spectrum are happy, and everyone in between.
-
4 RepliesThe seals used to require flawless completions on raids. I preferred that honestly. Now they just hand out seals like hotcakes.
-
2 RepliesA lot if people are mentioning the fact we have GM, master hunts and the likes for the equivalent, the concept of this idea is more for a direct mirror to trials... Right now a Gm difficulty or master hunt once it is done its done... rinse and repeat time after time. This sort of mode is pure progression going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, This adds variance every single time in adapting to different encounters in a split second, adds a unique form of progression as you are getting closer and closer to your 7th victory, An entire raid team balls to the wall 6 raid bosses flawlessly (no wipes) in and you get a riven thrown at you for your final.. adds a very unique feeling

People struggled with counting oracles, I don’t think they’ll like this.

Leave Gambit alone. Grandmasters, Master Empire hunts and Master lost sectors are surely the PVE equivalent already?
-
1 ReplyGrandmasters are the PvE equivalent.
