Thundercrash shouldn’t rely on Falling Star to be this powerful

If FS’s increase to base damage is going to be nerfed (and let’s be real it’s going to happen at some point), at least make the base damage impact of TC be more than slovabomb but less than celestial nighthawk.

  • I could live with that but would rather GG and maybe slowva get a damage buff or all three get new damage values to mach the necessary skill or rather ease of use. - celestial being 2x-1.5x better than fs if the boss has a crit spot but has low base damage -fs is a great exotic and should not be touched - slowva is good for bosses with ads but lance could use a exotic to bump up it's damage to 400k to be just under fs since it locks down an area too

  • Thundercrash should be around the same Damage as other Boss Damage Supers. Falling Star Damage is allright but Celestial Nighthawk needs to be buffed to the same level to be just as relevant for Boss Damage.

  • Thundercrash should be the most powerful one off super period due to the risk it has compared to the rest. Its buffs it's gotten over the years at least made its base super decent, but falling star really just MAKES it good. This is an issue I have with how bungie balances supers. They create an exotic that gives an artificial improvement to the super so they never actually have to buff it...even though we all want supers to be powerful on their own. Exotics should make them better, not serve to make them good in the first place.

    • Yes and no. Yes this should be sweet to use. I remember when it was a wet noodle damage. Now it’s on par. Can’t speak for exotic chest damage values cause I don’t test but it’s on par with celestial. Will 1 hit almost everything. No. Just like celestial synergy the chest piece is only op when paired with the missile super. Without both pieces. Still good but it seems you want Werner von Braun to retain its op damage without chest piece?

      • Falling star is actually A LOT more than celestial. Because falling star is AOE...celestial hits 1 thing and needs a crit.

        • Then Celestial Nighthawk shouldn't be relied on to make GG powerful Geomags shouldn't be relied on to make Chaos Powerful Helm of St 14 shouldn't be relied on to make Bubble actually useful. Stomp33s shouldn't be relied on to make base mobility better Opticians/ or Transversives shouldn't be relied on to make base mobility better Dunemarchers shouldn't be relied on to make base mobility better. See a pattern here? We got exotics for a reason. If your reasoning goes through, other classes deserve the same. Period.

          • Yeah, fly at an enemy, blow up right next to them and do a pittance of damage, left exposed for their counter attack. All risk, little reward. The only main argument against making it stronger is the quickness you can get the super. More often means less powerful, if that’s going to be the case then the main damage aoe needs to be bigger. Cause having a boss move away while the aoe is still ticking is just a kick in the knee and reduces its dps. The whole radius needs to be the main damage field.

            • Not that I would want it to be changed, but I feel like exotics need more of a dynamic perk than just “increase __”. For example, falling stars can do [i]a lot[/i] more damage but you also take significant damage after the super which puts you at risk. This makes it a high risk high reward exotic and not just “slap this on to make it better”. It would be cool to see more trade off perks like this.

              What makes you think it is going to get nerfed at some point? It's Titan's only high damage super. A little bit more damage than nighthawk and slowva. The same damage as chaos reach, and way less than GG star-eater Hunter or bottom void star-eater Hunter. I think it's in a pretty fair place in all honesty, shouldn't be nerfed. But I agree, the super is much too weak without falling star.

              • I feel slova should do more than thundercrash by base since it can be blown up by enemies shooting it enough.

                • I don't know how the damage numbers work out, but I think BB should also be in this conversation of damage increase. It's been complete garbage since it was nerfed a year ago and sees 0 play. So if TC gets an increase I would like a BB increase as well.

                  • At least it has an exotic that majorly buffs it’s damage. Star Eater scales are pretty much the only thing that really buffs arcstrider, and even then the damage increase is barley noticeable
