Console QoL Requests

[b]Preface:[/b] I've been been playing Destiny 2 nearly every day recently and have been playing in some capacity since Destiny released back in 2014. I've really enjoyed my experience and, largely, continue to do so, but a few things have been bothering me for a long time and I've had a lot more instances of small issues causing negative impacts on my gameplay. I'd like to request a few Quality of Life changes or just inquire as to whether these are even on the radar for the devs in the studio: [b]1) Please allow higher sensitivities on console/controller[/b] (I play on console so I have no idea whether this is an issue PC players feel exists) - I've heard a few rumors here and there about the potential removal of "Traction" as a perk and I would like to see an increase to the speed at which I am able to turn my character as well as the speed at which I am able to move my reticle. Even back during Destiny (1), I felt that my look sensitivity was too slow. I recognize that changes to this would likely mean different balancing requirements for PvP as this is where I encounter situations where I would like this change the most, so I don't expect drastic changes to this, though it's a pleasant thought. I also recognize that this is far from the only game I feel is "slow" as far as the sensitivity is concerned. I'd like to be able to have my character react in similar ways that I react in both PvE and PvP. Please consider. [b]2) Please allow controller/console players the option to turn off or disable parts of the Aim Assistance[/b] - There are so many situations in both PvE and PvP (I am primarily a PvE player) where I am aiming at something and another enemy (or player in PvP) will cross my reticle and it will drag to that closer enemy, resulting in a missed shot. I would like to have the option to stay aimed on that original target and be able to switch targets on my own instead of the game forcing me to do so. (I know this may negatively impact the feel of aiming the weapons if every part of aim assistance is turned off. My main issue is with losing track of a target or having my reticle pulled off of something I was aiming at and I'd like to have a little bit more say in where I'm pointing my weapons). [b]3) Please allow us more customization in our controls[/b] - I know that a "Custom" option was recently added and I appreciate that this was thought of and implemented. However, I would like to see a specific feature included: the option to separate melee abilities from a melee attack. There have been too many times where I want to smoke myself as a Hunter (for invisibility) or let loose a throwing knife at an enemy, thinking that I will be able to utilize my ability, only to cover the distance in a lunge (regardless of whether I was trying to attack or escape) and, more often than not, result in a death. I also know a Titan friend of mine who is frustrated with the inconsistency of his powered Stasis melee showing up when he wants a regular melee attack or a melee attack showing up when he's looking to use his melee ability. If this is already an option, please advise. I was unable to locate this specific setting while attempting to change it yesterday. [b]4) (Non-gameplay related) Will we ever see an emote wheel or more options?[/b] - There are so many great emotes that have been put in the game and I enjoy being able to communicate with other players quickly with them, but often find myself having to swap things out for different moods or situations (I play on an original PS4, so my load times are rather slow). Is an option for a greater range of emote flexibility in the works? Thank you for your consideration and thank you for all of your hard work in maintaining Destiny 2 and bringing us content. These recent seasons have been rich with lore and I've really enjoyed seeing all the developments in the story.     • I don't think we need higher sensitivity, but we do need more in-betweens. ex/ sensitivity could be 1-20 with 20 being the same as 10 and 10 being the same as 5 I know plenty of people who find the current maximum sensitvity fine but struggle to find their own sweetspot in the current selection.

      • Plenty of good suggestions here! I'd also like to add maybe just making traction built in. It's a standard mod with no cost that is generally mandatory for better movement. Maybe just a setting in settings, so we can free up that slot for more builds.

      • Also add full-auto as a toggle selection fir all weapons. I have joint issues and after a session even using just a 150 scout let alone higher rof guns my fingers are in pain. I’ve heard people say this would be op but if it’s on all weapons then it’s fine. Disable it on HCs if you want I dont care.

        • To add to your list: - auto fill the max number of tokens for all vendors that still take tokens. Makes no sense it does it for banshee, but not Zavala nor salidan - increase vault space or finally make collections work like, I don't know, a collection and allow us to grab things from it. Those things can have static rolls - let us carry more than 50 enhancement shards. Especially since we have to collect them from shax to advance our crucible progress. - simplify the mod system. There is no reason every weapon type should have it's own mod (especially since y'all forgot about some, smh). All we need is kinetic, special, heavy (whatever it is, ie scavenger, finder, etc). - to continue about mods: just make kinetic, special, heavy champion mods, not weapon specific. That way we can use what we want and experiment with different setups, not be limited to what y'all pick for that season. - change the artifact so that we can unlock everything in it, not have to pick and choose. Hell, you can keep pick/choose for the first 12 levels, but after that, once we get however much xp needed, rows need to start unlocking. That way we can experiment and play around with all the mods. If you don't want to do that, make the mods unlocked account based. That way we can unlock different ones on other characters, but still get to use all the ones we unlocked that season

            • A non-gameplay QoL addition I'd like to see is Legendary/Master Lost Sector symbols on the planets in the director. That way I wouldn't have to manually check each planet to see where the active ones are.

              • Definitely agree with all of this, the sensitivity issue being one of my biggest gripes with PvP. I play on 8 sensitivity, and I still feel hopeless when someone jumps over my head. I barely have time to turn around and spot them before I’m dead… might just be me being bad at the game though

                • Agreed, I got bored of Destiny so tried playing some CoD after a year. I couldn’t keep up with my old sensitivity settings on CoD. My aim was terrible for the first 5 matches or so Destiny feels fast paced when it’s the only game you play, but it’s actually terribly slow compared to other games

                  I agree with all three, especially the sensitivity option. With the addition to FoV, the sensitivity feels sluggish when numerous enemies are infront of the reticle. Then again, could just be Bungie's intense AA playing apart there too, nerf the Aim Assist as well as additional Sensitivity options please and thank you. :)

                • Completely agree with the traction and aim sensitivity. Even on 10 with traction it feels so sluggish. Also, fix the bug that keeps turning motion blur on every time I boot up D2. I always have to manually turn motion blur off when I load into D2. It’s annoying.

                      • I'd like to see the text chat implemented into the console version. I play a few other games that have in game text chat and I just use a wireless keyboard. Makes communication all that more simple.
