Hand cannons need a serious adjustment to their range falloff in PvP. When I am shooting across a long map from 200-300 meter ranges I should not get outgunned by a handcannon 99 times out of 100. I was using nightwatch, and every hand cannon I went against outgunned me almost every time....this makes 0 sense. Unless it's eriana's vow, it should not have that much range...my RIFLE aka a long range weapon should not be outgunned by a pistol....at long range. This seriously makes no sense!

2 RepliesBungie doesn't want people hanging out at the edges of the map and plinking away in either PVP or PVE. That is their "explanation" for the state of SRs which I frankly dont' agree with. There are **so** many aspects of this game right now that are unfavorable to the use of scout rifles---map design, add concentration, level of add aggression, etc....----that there really is no excuse for how underpowered they are. In PVE, the situation is so bad that I basically have to put a "Minor" mod on every SR, AND only use rolls with damage perks like Rampage or (preferably) Explosive Rounds.....for the weapon to simply feel usable. Not powerful mind you.....but USEABLE. I really don't understand Bungie's mentality of rendering entire weapons classes (like SRs and Fusion Rifles) so underpowered that no one really wants to use them....and then waste the time and energy keeping them in the game. If you're that opposed to their use....just remove them from the game and use those resources on something else.

People who make these claims are delusional, too close to their target, or missing every shot. Scouts work just fine at their intended ranges, most maps just dont have that many long lanes.

Scouts need their range bumped up to that of snipers and they need to receive less flinch.

6 Repliesat that range the hand cannon is doing like 10 damage. unless it has explosive rounds then it'll do 30 damage. also. what maps are you plying. that a have 200 m areas. destiny maps have a maximum area of like 70- 80 meters as an open straight line at max. what are you high on? not to mention hand cannons do real damage at like 40 - 49 range max. that's with max range 120s. please use your brain.

how the flip are you shooting 300 meters. that’s the distance of the biggest map, easily. 120s fall off at less than 40 meters most of the time, without a damage/range boost buff.

There are real considerations for how OP they could easily become. Most have high stability and any buff would probably have them work at closer ranges plus the range buff you want. Then there'd be no real reason to use anything else.

I mean, the furthest a max range 120 rpm handcannon can go is 43 ish meters, but that’s still less than scouts. The maps are the problem, not the guns.
