Presage, for example. If you die in the mob swarm after the compactor, you spawn back in the compactor in its pre-solved state... but it's now a darkness zone. Meaning you restart your run. Legendary content? Never done it. Because I can't. Because champions restrict me to idiotic weapon combinations and there is no upside. I can't win anyway, so there goes every new exotic past Forsaken. Raids? Nope. Every "guided game" sets me up with four mutes and an asshole, or the inverse. Never been past the first encounter of any raid. Fireteams on the app? Let me paint you a picture: it's day two of the VOG release and every thread is "Atheon CP, know every minutiae of every cheese and twist and have an exotic from a different raid and never die at any point." Let alone the "solution" to getting retired raid exotics being tied to doing other raids. I can't even up difficulty on nightfall because burns no longer exist. Burns are what made nightfall with randoms possible, and (and this is the real problem with the game as it is now) they just are. Not. Fun. Momentum control is fun. Banner is because it's stupid but you get interesting objectives. Strikes are because there are modifiers on there that actually DON'T -blam!- you. Which is apparently a lost art at modern bungie. I wouldn't be saying any of this if I didn't like the game. I -blam!-ing love this game. But you're off track with these champions -blam!-ing EVERYWHERE and tying exotics to not just being a random drop, but a random drop tied to a -blam!-ing lost sector of all things set up specifically to be as attrition-y and lame as possible. I get it. You dig the idea of champions. The idea of them is fine. The execution is just idiotic. You want to tie something in there that could be useful? Exotics. Exotics take down their protection. Or just having a mod that makes primary or special ammo the thing to use. I'm off to go look through fireteams again to see if there's anything about running a raid where it isn't assumed I spent four hours watching videos to study encounters. Because who doesn't love homework.
