There is no reason I should be carrying a team on motes and killing enemies, but I don’t get A SINGLE BRICK OF HEAVY. Please make heavy come from a certain amount of combatants or something. Allow me to be rewarded for playing the objective. We literally lost the game because I could not do any good dps. This makes gambit feel one sided and very predetermined. Especially when I get invaded on and killed by eyes of tomorrow back to back to back to back to back. How does this invader have heavy EVERY TIME, but someone playing the actual objective doesn’t. Please bungie.

I would rather they fix things like Revenant wizards who hit harder than raid bosses FFS, so easy when they spawn three at a time and run about like squirrels. I just leave the game.
-
But gotta waste 1/3 super energy to do so

3 RepliesInvaders are likely running scav and deeper ammo reserve mods will give them more chances at having stupid amounts of heavy for long periods of time; the fact that you don't lose heavy on death doens't help it. If they're in a stack, then there's always the possibility that someone is feeding them heavy ammo by finishing blockers.

Edited by MontyCora: 6/13/2021 10:22:51 AMI like the solution of fixed ammo drops for heavy when the game starts. Everyone on both teams starts with a fixed amount of heavy ammo, and that's all you'll ever get. Side steps shitty RNG entirely, and as a fun bonus all those poor souls who are utterly defenseless against Invaders now have a chance to defend themselves. Not to mention the built-in mini-game of wondering if you should use your heavy to burn the Primeval, to kill Invaders, or to Invade yourself.

Please just fix gambit....or vault it...

1 ReplyIs it just me or has it gotten worse after the update this past week?

2 RepliesEdited by My_Wet_Rooster: 6/8/2021 12:53:54 AMIf you increase the frequency and amount of Heavy ammo players can get in Gambit, you run into the problem that it had when it first came out, where entire games were determined by whether you had Heavy ammo or not. Opposing player invades you with Sleeper Simulant ammo and you don't have Heavy ammo? Well... you're screwed, plain and simple. Someone invades you without a Heavy while one or more of your teammates have buckets of Heavy ammo? That invader is screwed and won't be able to do any significant plays. The way that the Heavy ammo economy is presently in Gambit is perfectly fine. It's a whole lot better than what it was when Gambit first came out, where you had mods that practically gave you Heavy ammo if you did... anything.

Very true, I average 60 combatant kills per match (others average 30-40 though sometimes they’re better). Yet I get no help with motes, invaders, or allowed to invade when I do have heaps of heavy (proced from all the kills + ammo finder) For a co-op mode, not much cooperation happening.
-
1 ReplyWhoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there fella. Why would you think have actual ammo for your guns would be a good thing in a looter-SHOOTER?
-
3 RepliesThis is very true. Power ammo finder mods and drops are extremely inconsistent. It's especially frustrating given the frequency of invasion and the number of tanky enemies that you have deal with in a given match.
-
It's stupidly inconsistent. Sometimes I get a full-sized ammo brick from the first red bar I kill, go on a nonstop killing spree with a sword the entire match and still have full heavy for the boss. Sometimes I go literally 2-3 games without a single heavy brick dropped from an enemy... at all.
-
2 RepliesEyes of tomorrow i feel your pain...i got destroyed by this gun, 2 guys from my team rage quitted because of it, that gun is crazy especially on the EDZ MAP, first... if somebody can see the rockets Flying let me know... i can't see shit...no animation ..just the explosion...the game takes too long to let you get back, guess what? It gives enough time to the invader camp in front of the respawn... We both came back to be greeted by 2 more rockets. 😄👍👍
-
Well... considering that this must be the only FPS where I get out of primary ammo in too many situations, I'm not surprised for the starve on heavy ammo in almost all activities, sometimes even with heavy scavenger mods equipped.
-
Please, fix Gambit.

2 RepliesEdited by NYDIBS: 6/7/2021 2:48:53 AMI still think heavy ammo shouldn’t even be a thing in gambit. It makes the mode so easy Remove heavy, nerf boss health a lil and maybe it’d actually be worth playing

Edited by GMDeece7: 6/6/2021 7:18:39 PMThere’s one significant advantage that stacks have in gambit. A major game changer. What is it? Aeon exotics. They work in gambit. Any Smart Stack will have at least one person running it to give a ridiculous amount of heavy bricks to their allies for every yellow bar. They’ll never run out of heavy. Invader always goes with full heavy. This is pretty much the same situation as the armaments mod. But it can actually be argued that it’s BETTER since it gives a heavy brick for ALL allies per finisher on strong enemies.
-
I had a game of Gambit yesterday and it didn't drop any ammo types until the boss came. not even primary ammo. had a few bullets in my sub and was melee the ads like crazy
-
It does feel like ammo finders and such don't work in gambit I've never actually looked into it If they are turned off in gambit or not
-
Try not equipping ammo finder mods. I’m getting heavy ammo everywhere since I stopped using them.
-
2 RepliesAgreed 100%. The difference between winning and losing in Gambit can come down to the heavy drops. Invading, defending against an invader, and boss DPS all are much more effective with heavy. Even when running all the right mods, too often a heavy brick never appears for the entire match. I've paid close attention to it for quite some time. I can see no pattern to it. Just trash RNG. In D1, heavy was guaranteed to drop from yellows, maybe we need to go back to a system like that. Maybe not the exact same system, but a fair, repeatable pattern that guaranties the drop.

Edited by KayOsS882: 6/7/2021 4:01:22 AMLimiting heavy ammo is to prevent other guardians from abusing it on their opponents.
-
2 RepliesI run 2 sword ammo finders and scavengers always have full ammo by the end of the 1st wave. Hope this helps

Laughs in aeon

One thing I learned over the years is that the reserves for a heavy seems to dictate how likely heavy ammo drops. So lmgs and swords have heavy drop more frequently than rockets and GLs, mainly due to the amount of ammo they can carry. Adding reserve perks to your chest looking for field prep rolls seems to increase the odd ammo dropping

Edited by Double07: 6/6/2021 10:24:29 PMHave you tried the armor mods yet?
