Aria (Part 4): A Forest of Thorns (RP)

Note: Read before joining.
Notice 1: This RP is watched over by the Takamagahara System. If you perform any action that is considered to be god-modding, or otherwise not allowed, you will be issued a warning, and the T3 will rewrite time to undo your actions. Repeated warnings may get you banned from the RP. Remember to play nice! Notice 2: In order to participate in this RP your character cannot survive underwater. Whether it's from the extreme pressure, the lack of air, or both, leaving the city outside of official transport is not survivable. Notice 3: This is a pseudo shared RP, and talking with other players is recommended. However, to keep things organized, please do not just hop into another player's comment chain and start chatting them up. Instead, tell me you want to talk with them, and I will create a separate comment chain for the convo. You will go through most events in the RP alone, but Key Encounters will be shared. Notice 4: You do not have to have participated in previous parts to join. I can give you a summary if you missed the previous parts! If you have any questions, please contact your local RP admin! (that's me!)
Aifos stood alone in Oceanview, staring out at the water. He was glad Joshua was okay, but couldn't help but feel guilty for having pinned him of all people as the murderer. And now the real murderer--Aubrey--she was still here, somewhere. They knew her face, she couldn't hide in plain sight anymore, but that didn't mean they were any closer to catching her. "It's not your fault, you know." Fukua said, as she walked into the room behind him. "We took every precaution we could when building this place. We couldn't have predicted some crazy murderer who can turn into water would slip in and go on a killing spree." "How's Joshua?" "..He's fine. Well, not 'fine', but he'll be okay. I think that attack Aubrey threw at him was more of a distraction than anything. Just a way for her to get away. Don't worry, though, knowing what she can do, Grandma Koko took all the necessary precautions. There won't be a drop of water coming in or out of the city without her noticing." "Well that's all well and good, but how do we plan to catch her?" Rho said, stepping out from the shadows. "All this playing detective hasn't gotten us anywhere." "Rho's right." Fukua said. "We need a plan. We need to make sure she doesn't escape next time." Aifos sighed, and looked back at the ocean. He knew they needed a plan, but- He stopped. He saw someone in the reflection, and only narrowly managed to swerve out of the way as the sound of a gunshot echoed through the room. The bullet crashed into the window, and once it was weakened, the water pressure did the rest of the work, tearing the entire view apart. A shutter immediately slammed down and covered the glass, but not before a burst of water had forced its way into the city, knocking everyone in the room to the ground. The assassin tried to flee, but Aifos levitated himself above the water, and glided over to the shooter, grabbing him by the hood of his cloak. He was surprised to see a face he didn't recognize. "You aren't Aubrey.." He said. "Death to the Angels!" The man yelled, pulling out a knife. Aifos immediately let him go, preparing for a fight, but the man responded by dropping a flashbomb, and by the time anyone could see again he was gone. "That wasn't Aubrey." Fukua said, plainly. "That means.. She's not the only one." The group all looked at eachother for a moment in silence. ----- Kokonoe gathered you, and the others up. Aifos had explained what happened to everyone, and the same dread that fell over them back in Oceanview fell over everyone here. Kokonoe sighed. "I don't know why I'm so surprised by this. Fie's corpse had the Divine Trinity's halo drawn over her head.. They had a church up in the Capital, we already knew they had a following.. And now they're down here in Aria." "Okay, so we messed up." Fukua said. "But what we have to do should be obvious. Aubrey is probably their leader, and if she's not she can tell us who is. We found her hideout at the gardens, we should go there and investigate." "Agreed." Kokonoe said. "Aubrey herself might have come on board under our noses, but there's no way an entire cult could've gotten in. If we strike now, we still might have a chance to get this over with before the situation escalates any further. She turns to you. "You and Fukua will start the search. If you encounter any resistance, detain your attackers, understand? I don't want to see you going around murdering people in my city."
The detective portion of this RP is officially over! Hope you all enjoyed that bit; I certainly had fun writing it! Feedback is appreciated! You can still look around and talk to folk, but I won't be posting anymore "location/character" lists, so you'll have to do that from memory. Obviously, it should go without saying that you can't just go talk to Aubrey, though.
•
Alignment, we’ll go from here to prevent the replies from glitching.
“I don’t think so. All that blue fire reminds me of Lamia, but if she were here I think we’d know. I’d bet she summoned an aspect of her or something.”
