TWAB exposes all you Warlock mains. Warlocks are bad at pvp but have the highest win rate in trials?

Edit: This isn’t a nerf post. I use the damn class when I’m on my Warlock 🤦‍♂️ Icarus has the highest win rate in the [u][i]SWEATIEST[/i][/u] pvp game mode the game has to offer. [spoiler]You guys are arguing usage when the point still stands. Warlocks act like they aren’t good in pvp but their Icarus class (which is one of the highest light classes in USAGE, KDA, and Win/loss) has the highest win percentage. Not ANY OTHER CLASSES light classes. Right now it just seems that the only argument is that most of ya just suck at getting that potential out... P.S. That’s balance...[/spoiler]

  • A coordinated three stack of top tree dawns is stronger than any three stasis subclasses. The lethality of stasis is strong and oppressive but you know what else is? a 110 damage, tracking, infinite range melee the passive ability to ADS while floating The strongest zoning grenade in the game a horizontal movement ability that allows you to get to any angle and get out of any bad position in the blink of an eye A team who flies in full tilt on top tree dawn and uses their abilities correctly will always beat stasis. I am a warlock main and I recognize this. I am glad stasis is being nerfed but people need to realize that a light subclass meta will be dominated by top tree dawn, and that either top dawn will need to be nerfed or other subclasses will need to be buffed. I don't think it is that big of an issue because I feel like stasis being nerfed was a victory that we can live with for a while before talking about further subclass tuning, but I just feel like people need to realize that it will be the meta very soon.

      Imagine the players that invest in pvp being good at the most mechanically involved and rewarding tree . Sounds like a typical class based whining post . And of course your warlock is the lowest power of all your characters.

        Hm, yes, among our 3 whole viable loadouts (1 of which is getting nerfed likely out of viabolity next season), 1 has a high win-rate. Because in the hands of players who can take advantage, it's really good. Meanwhile a whole entire element out ours is useless outside of niche PvE scenarios, soon to be likely 2 entire elements when Geomags get nerfed. Let's not even mention that something that should be getting roughly 5% usage assuming perfect equilibrium is getting more than 7 times that. And let's not mention that higher pick-rates in this situation likely hurts win-rates

          Actually look at the stats yourself (I checked on guardian.gg myself). Hunters are consistently in the upper echelons, Titans in the lower, and Warlocks spread between top and bottom (for PvP in general at least). So while Warlocks have a class that is close to or at #1 pretty often in Dawnblade...they also quite often have the subclass with the lowest Win/KDA stats in Voidwalker. Taken as an average, the most used and/most won with classes are Hunter, Warlock, and then Titan...in that order. All of that aside, most people don't argue the viability of Dawnblade/Top Tree. It's just that there are mostly only two viable classes in PvP right now, and one of them requires a lot of skill to use. I'm not saying that Hunters and Titans don't have this problem too either. It's just that Warlocks are almost always the class hit with the nerf stick first, and usually the hardest. This can make it much easier to ignore that all classes have around 2 or 3 usable classes. Ultimately, I really hope the buffs/reworking of light subclasses uses things like Dawnblade as a benchmark, instead of nailing some of the better subclasses we all have to the ground.

            Dude you realize 1 out of every 3 players is a revnant hunter? Not all hunters, just stasis hunters. So all hunter the number is every 2 out of 3 players are hunters, so if that doesn't stand out to you then you are bugging.

                It's almost like a Class that's specifically set up to be in the air and move around incredibly fast is a go to when half the player base is abusing the piss out of stasis 🤷 It also has on demand Icarus grip for literally everything with Heat Rises (and pro players do be creaming their pants over Icarus grip) so no wonder it's the one Warlock class that gets used the most. Well other than ChaosReach but that's mainy because of Geomags Plus, just because Warlocks have 1 good class doesn't mean they still don't suck in pvp 😎

                  • Warlocks are terrible in PvP. Dawnblade Warlocks are an outlier exclusively because Icarus Dash is broken. For some reason they refuse to fix the momentum modifier on it.

                    • Everyone seems to forget that 90% of trials are all recoveries, how often to run into a godly top dawn users any where else? Maybe twice a night in 6v6..so those stats are null and void. Play any other mode and 3/4 of the lobby is stasis.

                      • Hunter is easy to use but not that op that ppl think especially in a hand of an avarage or below (like me) player. Anytime I play pvp with warlock or titan i just feel how much stronger they are compared to hunter. Both in pvp and pve situations. I recently switched to titan and man having nades that actually do something is kinda refreshing

                          Thats only because of the ability to land snipes in the air, in trials, thats a massive advantage. Top tree dawn is nothing special on regular 6v6 thought since sniping will get you destroyed. Is the air dodge really good? Yes, its only on one class and only one tree. Is the super good? Its actually quite buggy and works when it feels like it, direct hits sometimes wont even deal damage, its even possible for that to happen more than once in one super. The melee is nice but not really busted considering other classes have ranged melees too and hunters can even land one shots. In conclusion, is top tree dawn OP? No not really, top tree dawn is a playstyle, possibly the best one at avoiding stasis too, not a whole warlock is OP situation. Apart from top tree dawn, did you see warlocks being mentioned being good at anything else? Behemoth and hunters took that spot right after dawn and guess what? Behemoth and hunter stasis are both great on trials AND 6v6 modes. Your argument is irrelevant. God forbid warlocks get more than one viable subclass for pvp huh?

                            It’s the only subclass that even competes with the other classes! Also…. Their is over a 30% hunter play rate in Trials. They are Nuts. If your problem is Warlock, let’s start by nerfing Top Tree Dawn and Buffing pretty much everything else besides Chaos Reach or Shadebinder. Edit: So I just got a comment that it was “Over 30% revenant hunters”, so they were crunching. There is probs more in ToO itself, but Revenant is the problem child so I don’t think anything except that is a big deal.

                            • No one believes me when I say Warlocks are the most op class in the game. I switch from a hunter main over just to run chaos reach and empowering rifts in trials. It’s literally easy mode.

I'm pretty sure any player who is good at top dawn, will still be good on any other class warlock has to offer. what's next? nerf bottom tree void because health regen? lol

                                    • Twab exposed a lot of idiots that aren't very good with math. Win rate doesn't mean that a subclass is op. Top tree dawnblade is overwhelmingly outnumbered by the other classes/subclasses, thus artificially making their win rate higher simply because they are way less popular than other subclasses.

                                          I don’t think many Warlocks were saying that Top tree Dawnblade was bad. Most were saying that their other subclasses were bad for PvP (While I disagree with that statement, there is an important distinction to be made)
