I was wrong about Atheon
Its not overtuned garbage. Contest mode just made it seem overtuned. No idea why I was blind like that my dudes. I apologize.
Edit: Im still slightly irritated about there being no emblem for clearing just contest mode, but I shouldnt expect a participation trophy for clearing a returning raid on one difficulty. All is good though, I have a new found purpose in obtaining the 10 carries emblem, Im glad that exists.

8 RepliesMy only problem is more complicated mechanics. I don’t find it difficult, but there are too many people that don’t even know what counterclockwise means let alone shooting oracles in order. Honestly I just wanted an easy chill raid where you don’t have to do too much. But it is what it is, that and the mechanics might have grown on me a little.

It is a once a year event that is supposed to test the best teams, it is NOT representative whatsoever of the intended difficulty of the raid. If you have any critiques about difficulty always give it a few days for strategies to come out and metas to form before saying it is too hard etc, because every single year there have been complaints about difficulty on day 1 and every year without fail the complaints have dissapeared after a week as people realize that day 1 is an anomaly.

6 RepliesThe entire raid is fine except the detainment. I really wish they’d let us shoot ourselves out. Or Atleast don’t let the relic holder become detained.

The only real things that even bug me about the raid are Atheon's oracles (could be slightly more lenient on time to shoot imo) and detaining the relic holder (they of all people should be allowed to break themselves out), and the former is more of a small nitpick than a major complaint.

Props to you for admitting you have a new opinion based on new information/experience. There are SO many people who would rather go down in flames than ever admit they were wrong. I haven't even played it but I was jumping on the bandwagon because I'm extremely introverted and even jumping into a raid group throws me out of my comfort zone. (I've tried clans but they usually end up being a core of people with little opportunity to get into the raids if you're a newer member)

I got an invite into a Fireteam on Sunday. I was the only one who cleared the Raid, everyone else didn't know the encounter. After a few runs of them learning the Oracle locations, getting used to Detainment, and just staying alive, all five agreed that the encounter was straightforward and not that bad.

It’s definitely a lot easier than it was day one, but it’s still a raid that I am highly discouraged from taking anyone new through it. And I try to cheese it whenever possible because it entertains me more than the actual mechanics.

eh, oracles are better after contest mode is gone than atheon. Too much can go wrong with an LFG team (how I always do raids) to make it fun.
