-blam!- Lakshmi-2 and the entire FWC
Throughout this season and the lore surrounding it on the gear, and for the most part significant figures in the city and even a lot of civilians are able to recognize that the Eliksni of House Light are not the fallen that have plagued humanity for a few hundred years now. Even Shaxx and Saint-14 are shown to be somewhat accepting of House Light moving in. But Lakshmi--blam!-ing-2 is playing this like a political power grab instead of an issue of helping other desperate refugees.
If you haven’t heard her latest broadcast to the people of the city, she basically implied that Ikora was behaving as a dictator without the city’s interests in mind when she let House Light set up camp in an extremely run down part of the city, also claiming that through VEX TECH (the very same tech that’s making it so that the city cannot see the sun), she has seen this arrangement only leading to bloodshed. Yeah I’m sure there’s NO WAY the vex are using that to make sure we turn on each other before fixing the endless night.
She even questions if Mithrax can even fix the endless dark because he hasn’t yet, even though when guardians have fixed debatably worse problems in the past it wasn’t instant. Her only claim to any legitimacy is that she claims the FWC foresaw the Red War, which coming from her and the Future War CULT is quite possibly utter bullshit to save face.
Anyway, back to the title, because of all that, -blam!- Lakshmi-2 and the entire FWC.
Edit: feel free to step up and speak if you want to try and defend the FWC, Lakshmi-2, and their crazy ass ideas and conspiracies.

I've already explained this in another [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/258999042?sort=0&page=0&path=1]post.[/url] FWC is playing this cautious. The Consensus made clear their desire to not follow prediction engines and the outcome she specifically references was the Red War. She sees these events and wishes to play a stronger hand. I disagree this is a power grab. This is about protecting humanity from a potential threat. The false theories about an FWC uprising and power grab are being done under fear they might be wrong from what I'm seeing. It's entirely possible to trust the house of light, give them a chance like Ikora is doing, and be prepared for a potentially bad outcome that has been foreseen. I could change DO or NM in this situation and know I would believe any of the three factions. Never forget that what you call theory is merely an invitation to come to the table and speak to the facts of the situation you see. The purpose behind all of this can easily be resolved, for example, if the Consensus would announce their support/dislike of allowing a relatively unknown Fallen faction from occupying a section of the Last City another Fallen house decimated and left for ruin. Could you imagine if the House Light decided to rebuild that raid boss? Use that as a staging attempt? You wouldn't be so quick to let that thing stay in their courtyard now would you?

You also have to consider that she is corrupted by savathun at the moment, and while she holds a position of power in FWC, its likely not all members hold her same views. I'd care to guess that her future actions will be carried out on her own without consent from the other FWC members. You should also consider that all the factions are shady. New monarchy is constantly trying to bribe everyone in the tower for more power and basically want the richest people to rule. Dead orbit just wants to abandon everything and leave behind anyone who doesn't share their views.

9 Replies<To be fair, the Vanguard let the Eliksni in without counsel. I know House Light aren't the Fallen Houses both old and new, but a lot of people lived through battles with them, raids even. I get why Lakshmi is apprehensive, though I don't agree with the planned coup. However, the Device is unreliable as -blam!- and pinning her brain waves on analyzing the 6 of 7 false futures on that list was dumb as -blam!-. The Device, as we can see now, can act similarly to Ixel's prediction engines, and so it's likely these futures are what Lakshmi wanted to see. But if she worries about whether the Lightless fall in line with those simulations or not, then she clearly doesn't know its capabilities and shouldn't be trusted with it. If only we still had the Forest, because then you could take it from the Network themselves that these futures (except I-2 and D-3) are idiotic.>

FWC was my favorite faction of the three, mostly because of their color scheme and style and to arm the people to defend the city from what I remember hearing. It sucks to see the FWC leader spreading hate and riling up the people of the city to do hate crimes on House Light. Though with their name, I shouldn’t really be surprised. I’m actually more surprised that Bungie brought one of the faction into a seasonal story beat. [spoiler]I also heard of a leak that later in the season, Latchmi-2 dies or something. If that’s true then there’s your karma moment.[/spoiler]

Man, I have been with FWC since the beginning. Sad to see my girl go down this path. I remember buying her packs of cigarettes and just listening to her voice. Gonna be a shame if I have to put her down.
