Reverse Boots of the Assembler nerf

I’m not talking about the bug fix that allowed us to spawn a ton of orbs, but the other part of the nerf. From the patch notes: [quote]When Warlocks wearing Boots of the Assembler are extending the duration of a Rift, class ability regeneration pauses. Design note: The reason for this change was both to prevent game crashes caused by too many rifts being placed in a single activity, and to restore some of the advantage to running Sanguine Alchemy over Boots of the Assembler. [/quote] What kind of joke is that, you want to keep sanguine alchemy relevant? That exotic has already been murdered once and now its ghost is haunting the new exotic. The nerf that make it pause the ability regeneration makes zero sense and the reasons you stated are totally ridicolous. And the other reason, too many rifts being placed in a single activity? With 41s cooldown at 100 recovery and a rift duration of <15 seconds if you’re not stepping inside it how many rifts do you think can be active at the same time? There’s a new void class mod that allows to instantly charge a class ability with a finisher, and that can create way more rifts that BotA. TLDR: REVERSE THE NERF, IT’S POINTLESS AND SANGUINE ALCHEMY HAS NEVER BEEN RELEVANT TO BEGIN WITH

  • I’ve played destiny 2 as a warlock main since day one. I absolutely love this game I really do The team has done some amazing work is so many areas an im extremely thankful for the dedication and hard work, I truly am. I was over the moon when boots of the assembler was released, it was an amazing exotic that FINALLY let you feel and act like a real support class, it came in clutch so many times during day 1 vog for my team. But then, out of the blue with no warning at all in the footnotes of some stupid hotfix, 2 weeks after releasing the exotic, bungie neuters them….. “to restore some advantage of running sanguine alchemy” No warlock main ever runs those. If you want it to be “relevant” make it a universal ornament, that’s the most use you will ever get out of it after you butchered sanguine years ago by completely removing its original exotic perk, an ornament is the best it will ever be, honestly I wouldn’t bat an eye if you just removed it period. You already neutered lunafactions Give us back assembler rift regeneration. Remove the bug where you can generate orbs by hot swapping sure I have no issue with that, it’s a legitimate bug that’s perfectly reasonable to patch. But this bs excuse about “to many rifts” is garbage, and the “ relevancy” of sanguine is the laziest most pathetic excuse I’ve ever heard from bungie. You have an amazing game bungie Do better.

      Bungie hates warlocks and Sanguine Alchemy is booty cheeks! I've never even used it one single time. It looks good though. I'd transmog it if bungie would let me. But I will never ever wear that shite unless it gets a serious rework and buff. I also put the Boots of the Assembler in my vault never to see the light of day again unless Bungie does the right thing and reverts the nerf. But they won't so yet again another useless warlock exotic to forever collect dust. Bungie shoves warlocks into a support role then nerfs it.

    • Bungie does not care about Warlocks, they erased them from pvp and now they want them gone from pve because they are "too hard to balance" Also buff fusionrifles 🤣

      • Not to mention it nullifies subclass specific abilities such as “Electrostatic Charge” (bottom tree Stormtrance) and “Benevolent Dawn” (mid tree Dawnblade). Why would I use an Exotic that actively works AGAINST my subclass instead of WITH it?

            All they had to do was make placing a new rift cancels the previous one. Problem solved.

            • It makes total sense. Warlocks we’re keeping 2-3 rifts up entire game modes. It’s literally an infinite well. Pair with breach and clear mod and it’s basically an infinite super. So yeah the nerf was needed

              • For the past two year we only got a good leg alone usable exotic armor every so often. All the did was bring this seasons which were good in line with the garbage and never used one from before. I 100% get what they did.

              • The rift makes sense. If Bakris and icefall mantle can’t get their ability back while the perk is active, why could warlock? All the exotics change the class ability in a major way.

                      This is such a ridiculous nervous and the reason Is even more so! Honestly. I finally had an exotic I was stoked about. That let me play support like I have always wanted to in destiny and bam. Sanguine Alchemy hasn't been relevant since its nerf. So your answer is to make this one irrelevant too? 🤔

                      • I couldn’t agree more, they are absolutely insane if they think this was the answer. It’s actually detrimental now if you use these boots on Well subclass and it essentially disables a subclass perk. Rework Sanguine!!!

                          Bungie, You can't kill Rift Regen and kill Sanguine at the same time. The nerf is dumb. I get you wanted this to be an all use subclass exotic with rift itself being the neutral game but you can't make a healing exotic then cut out a middle tree node because people were locking rifts and getting regen through healing then putting put out another before its gone. You have 2 choices: Remove the timer so sanguine and benevolent dawn can live. Or Keep the timer but remove the previous rift if a second rift has been activated and kill off sanguine for good. I WANT MY BENEVOLENT DAWN BACK IMMEDIATELY.

                              Maybe because other exotics that change how the class ability works also pause class regen. Look I don't like it either but it makes sense. And infinite rifts would allow for content to be a bit easier too

                              • They could have, just as easily, limited it to 1 Rift per Warlock instead of directly nerfing the Exotics revolving around Rifts. I get they don't want players using an aggressive territory creation build (because that would actually trivialize a bunch of encounters), but the fact they nuke any sort of properly defensive exotic is just poor design.

                              • agreed, Sanguine Alchemy was already trash in the first place, now with this nerf, every rift exotic for warlock is below average just like they wanted. (They are worried about it crashing the game when Promethium Spurs exist and are probably the most underwhelming and one of the worst exotics in the game?) Get real.
