Boots of the Assembler NERF

Hey Bungie, I've seen the patch notes and I both understand and get confused by the reason you nerfed them. In a way, I see that there was no other reason to use Sanguine Alchemy besides the fact you can't have infinite rifts with BotA while soloing. But, on the other hand, nobody will use Sanguine Alchemy anyway after the patch, and the fact that you say that a lot of rifts in an activity can crash the game but you can still crash the game if you're wearing SA. I already know that reworks on old exotics will not be a thing, unless it's Aeon exotics because apparently only they can have the spotlight (even though it's still not used very much). But please if it's not breaking PvP (haven't seen a single BotA warlock in PvP since they come out beside me), and not breaking any raid (healing noble seekers are not the same thing as being inside the Hrift at all and never seen a single BotA warlock with Erift in any activity even though their seekers give such a good buff) do not deprive us of our power fantasy.

    Because of this nerf- I shall now use my AC130 TTDawn and Mid Tree Arc (Chaos) to wreck havoc in the Crucible even more so now. I shall become a hard counter to stasis titans and hunters- and will do my best to out primary peeps. They want warlocks weak af? Well, ill show them mastery. They're baby sitting titans and giving hunters good stuff. Warlocks meanwhile have the hardest skill set and neutral games to master. Once mastery takes place we become the best class for both modes. I hate being a warlock main.

    • I uninstalled D2 after seeing this nerf. Not even joking. I doubt I’ll be back either. I wanted to play Warlock but apparently Bungie doesn’t want anyone to play Warlock.

        Lets be real the only reason they nerfed the warlock boots is so that hunters wouldn't be too upset about the star eater nerf even though we don't care and knew it was going to be nerfed immediately it was outright broken. The excuse they came up with was borderline lazy because you can litteraly do the same thing with sanguine alchemy and nobody uses it since it can't track through walls no more. Hunters would not have care if it was just us that got nerfed this was an unnecessary appeasement that wasn't even wanted. Sorry you got an unnecessary nerf.

          I'm actually taking a break after these got nerfed. I actually felt like a healer and finally made a build I could stick with and have fun in PvE and PvP. Now I don't want to touch anything. I spent around 120ish hours within the past 2 weeks grinding. And I just feel like it's a waste. If this was seriously done to have other exotics compete or be viable vs these legs like sanguine alchemy. I'm going to be pissed. That's a solo exotic at best. I've also noticed that the rate and number of noble seekers were reduced while standing INSIDE the rift.

            The excuse with "being able to crash the game" I find to be super lazy, as if they needed to come up with a bs reason to have the nerf. They could easily just limit warlocks to placing down one rift at a time per person. No one ever uses sanguine alchemy anyways. No one did before these boots existed, no one will now. So that logic is also messed up.

            • Yeah, I’m pissed that an Exotic I never wanted to take off I now never want to put on again. Nerfing something to make something else seem viable is the absolute worst choice that could’ve been made. Still NEVER going to use Sanguine Alchemy.

            • The nerf seemed unnecessary. It messes up the game play loop for rifts and there were many different ways they could've avoided the rift problem for game crashes. Despawn the previous rift if you summon another one. It's not that hard, but they gotta take that away instead of, you know, buffing sanguine. If they wanted to balance it out, nerfing the boots was the wrong approach. They should've buffed sanguine because the effect it has by itself is worthless as an exotic piece. Maybe make sanguine also increases rift size, have the rift be connected to the user instead of the ground to be mobile or have something else to make it more than just, "stand in rift for a very long time, leaving you vunrable". The big issue was sanguine was never really used nor was it useful both pve and pvp. Nerfing a good exotic because an old one sucked and still sucks is a horrible approach to balancing a game.

            • I totally get the nerf for abusing the “on and off” glitch that caused a shitton of orbs to appear, but saying they wanted to keep sanguinge alchemy relevant when literally nobody uses that is beyond any kind of joke.

            • I cannot beleive that they didn't just rework SA. Instead, they removed the one reason that I liked the new boots: Always have a rift, because you have a new one by the time it runs out.

            • Oh, it’s not that bad. Icefall Mantles (for titan) does the same exact thing. You can’t gain barricade energy when you have icefall mantles perk active. Tl;dr: no infinite overshield, no infinite heals

                Bungie logic - Instead of buffing an underpowered and underused exotic, we’ll nerf a new one that didn’t really need touching, and nobody was really using it anyway. Smh.

              • I was set to farm these boots today, until I saw the nerf :( Didn't get the chance to own them, or use them :( Thought I'd be helping my VoG team once I get them, but oh no "healing is bad!!" because of PVP (hello Trials) And here I thought we would get a season where healing matters. Guess I was wrong. Back to out-shooting yourself out of a jam...as usual smh

              • They could have at least made the ability energy diminished while the rift is extended, the fact that they went so far as to have it stop completely sucks.

              • There are two things Bungie should’ve done to keep these boots worthwhile: 1) Despawn your previous rift as soon as you place a new one. 2) Buff Sanguine Alchemy so people actually want to use it. Personally, I’d like to see Sanguine Alchemy damage enemies who enter your rift. Make the damage type match your subclass element and you’ve got yourself an interesting exotic. Maybe even extend rift duration for each kill it gets? Perhaps even health/ability regen per kill. Who knows, the theme is “blood magic” so incorporating buffs from enemy death would be right up its alley.

                  • Yeah, nerf didn’t make sense to me. Either of them really and the reasoning for both seems backwards. Scales made night hawk useless so reasoning that it was to preserve the other makes more sense for the scales. Meanwhile I don’t get their logic with the assembler nerf. If they’d said it was to make it in line with the new titan gauntlets and hunter helmet I’d believe it more but their reasoning seems odd to me.
