Right now clans are mostly a cosmetic thing, and a small cosmetic thing at that.
We get a clan tag, a banner, and some extra (often low tier) loot.
I feel like clans could be more. Right now clan owners don’t have a lot of tools to organize larger clans (with only 3 ranks they can assign), and banner customization is extremely limited. We often have to take our operations to third party websites to organize clan activities.
Bungie needs to implement new activities for clans, and rework the existing system. Some examples:
Clan wars - battle a clan and see who can complete the most <activity> in a season, month, week
Clan emblem flag should drape from rally banners - I feel bringing that physically into the game makes clans feel more legit
Add more moderation and ranking tools for clan owners and admins to keep things more organized.
And many more possibilities.
I love my clan, but I think Bungie should really improve upon it because it’s so bland. It has so much potential and could increase player involvement with the game, and with other players if it was better.

Clans could definitely use a few things to encourage Growth and community across the board, on top of more options for larger clans, boosting small clans is important; - Remove the weekly cap for smaller clans - More buffs, smaller bounties and incentives to play with clan mates - Messages between clan members & like consumble gifts or whatever

Edited by CorsairBadger: 5/26/2021 11:51:41 AMCrazy idea. Why don't they turn the H.E.L.M into a Clan social space? It's already a seperate instance to the Tower and can take fireteams there. There is a door behind Crow that could go to a Clan hall/hub (which unlocks when in a clan) where you could earn trophies as a clan, i.e. Kill 1000 Fallen Captains collectively for a statue to be displayed in that room, as well as your banners. Using the Rabbit and Penguin collectible thing, they could hide loads of clan collectibles around destinations, Strikes, Raids, Dungeons etc. to collect and display for exclusive shaders and emblems. They could even plagiarise Warframe and let us decorate with our shaders, at the cost of an Ascendant Shard (or three). Plus, people could gather there, collect their bounties etc. from the seasonal vendors, decrypt Umbrals, access their Vault and Postmaster, so there's a reason to being there. Additionally, if Bungie did this, they could do a public event where we push Hawthorne off the Tower and we could watch her go splat on the streets of the city below as she shouts "You just never quit do youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu *squish*" . This is a genius idea, admit it. 😂

They should require that clans participate in all fire team required content, only within there assigned clan membership rosters. What is the point of soliciting for members to join and grind your clan in order to advance that particular clans status to get the benefits of season rewards but at the same time play on fire teams that don’t include your own clan members? I’ve been a member of 3 different clans and have never been invited to or by the clan leader let alone members to do a nightfall, raid etc.. Rework the clan experience by including rules to encourage real rewarding clan team participation. Right it’s clan member in name only. How were we having clan wars under dead orbit and the like, with the entire membership each receiving the clan winners rewards ? Yet these clans we are part of could have similar incentives to reward each member the spoils of nightfalls and raids to all members when other members attain them based on an average of that clans members participation in said events.

1 ReplyHow long have the Clan perks been exactly the same? I don't care how much you try to push Trials. I'm not playing that toxic mess.
-
Rework Destiny and Bungo. The game could me amazing but their leadership needs to be in front a firing squad
-
6 Repliesalso, since no one in my clan is ever on anymore and I am the leader, I am unable to promote anyone, which means I can't leave to join another clan.

2 RepliesEdited by pacificdune: 5/25/2021 3:17:00 PMI feel like the clan system is just treated like some lame requirement to get a few engrams per week. This only encourages low involvement players to join, and continue playing solo. I spend hours recruiting, maintaining, removing, moderating, and trying to make my clan a strong community, and nobody plays together. I end up spending most of my time on lfg.

I said it once and I'll say it again: Clan halls and clan vendors. Armor and weapons that displays our heraldry. I only joined a clan for the group activities- raids and trials. I otherwise see no point to them.
-
"some extra (often low tier) loot." Clan engram is pinnacle even though it says Tier 2 powerful and you'll find the activity engrams from her can actually be quite useful to have for when the game is screwing you on a piece of gear you need. But otherwise yea, they're just cosmetic and need an update. They need to be more

having a mesage board in game would be good enought lol

4 RepliesWe need a spot in the last City where we could furnish our own room in a huge building. Allow us to hang up our personal items as trophies. Allow us to put our titles on the wall as if they were medals. Give us a fireplace and a chair so we can sit and listen to lore. Give us a shooting range so we can test abilities and guns. Think of better perks in terms of leveling up and finding rare items based on the level of the clan. These simple things go a long way.

7 RepliesWhenever I see posts like this I have the same reply. It’s not that you don’t have an alright idea it’s just living in reality. Bungie currently can barely produce content. If you love what’s been coming out all the more power to you but if you think it even approaches the level we received during forsaken (last time bungie actually tried) your insane. During a time when they came barely make content asking for things that are basically cosmetic in nature is a waste.

There used to be a third-party event called "Clan Warfare" that focused on different activities (Iron Banner, Gambit, Strikes, etc, and extra points for using certain weapons). There were three classes based on clan size. My old clan came in first in our class most of the time and it was a great clan-focused activity for us. It was easy to weed out dead weight based on members who never showed up for Clan Warfare week, too. It seems like a no-brainer that Bungie should add something similar to the game.
-
Clans used to mean something in Y1 you would see your selected banner when you landed in a crucible match, clan engrams helped people get low level rewards for activities they didn’t play (5 power level item was a fair trade at the time). Its just with Activison gone the game is going towards lukes fantasy land (basically WoW, can you believe a guy who got the most exclusive title in the game didn’t do jack shit and was handed it by people who did all the work, and he has the gall to put that on his resume)

3 RepliesEdited by chickengoujohn93: 5/26/2021 8:56:09 AMI was kicked from my previous clan for “leaching rewards”. Even though I played all 3 player activities with same 2 guys, probably one of the most active members (or at least appeared online) and facilitated many clan engrams. I don’t think clans need anymore elitism than there already is. There are some people with some serious superiority complexes out there, think they are the gatekeepers to good loot. I got kicked for “leaching” 4 engrams that can drop loot from anywhere in the bloody game and a few enhancement cores that I can obtain by levelling two Blue Armor pieces to Level 8, dismantling them and profiting 3 enhancement cores. It’s my way of getting rid of Prisms without wasting them when capped. Created a new clan, my buddies joined me and I am still getting the engrams I supposedly “leached” from my previous clan in my now 3 man clan lol.

10 RepliesThey should remove clans entirely so players get to play the content they want to play when they want to play it instead of being forced to play the content their clan overlords want to play when they want to play it.

I like the idea of raising the limit from 100. Other than that I think Bugie needs to focus on other things before they decide to monkey with clans... Undo the sunset weapons.
-
2 RepliesMake the limit higher than 100 members.

1 ReplyEven just a better way to communicate with our clan members would go along way . This app is terrible half the time the app wont send the msgs or even notify us that someone responded to this or that. It is frustrating to miss a raid or pvp lobby because it took an hr for me to even get the msg. There should def be and in game clan chat.

2 RepliesI'm just curious, is there a legit reason Bungie can't create something without having to always have in the back of their mind. "we need to change this multiple times", and they end up doing just that? Who here liked how the system was set up before Bungie changed it? I'm asking because isn't the idea of a game when creating content is to improve that content?

Edited by DJ Professor K: 5/26/2021 11:55:42 AMSo as someone that has been the leader of my clan for YEARS, but only recently actually started getting a good amount of players.. I feel like I have a unique perspective. #1 Everything they can add for clans, when you're someone that isnt in a big enough clan, or in a clan at all.. sucks. The clan night triumph that's required for every raid seal, SUCKS BIG TIME. The clan raid challenges? (Thank God they made em non clan challenges for later raids) Sucks big time. It is ABSURDLY disheartening to have things in the game that blatantly and arbitrarily alienate you as a player that isnt in a clan. Now, as the leader of my clan? I want an upgradeable clan hideout like in runescape, I want a clan based activity. I want pvp clan fights. I want clan ornaments, I want clan titles, etc. So, at the end of the day, while I would be thrilled to see this stuff, I understand why they dont. Theres also honestly a laundry list of things I would prefer get upgraded first in game.

Clan is worse, i rather play with my friend instead of clan
