Changing it to have tonpop oracles in order is lame. Hate it

2 RepliesLol did I pass the raid yes, did I get vex mythoclast on 1st clear yes... were the changes to the raid from d1 cool no. If i want nostalgia then I want it to be what I remember. Theres enough other super crappy content for me to not enjoy on this game thanks. BTW bungie.. 600+ days since a new crucible map.. your reminder of you suck at your job

Edited by Hawkeye: 5/27/2021 12:28:36 PMHaters gonna hate. If they don't add anything people call them lazy. If they do add something people will complain about it being different than the old thing they remembered and expected. What CAN they do, then? No matter what they do, there will always be many people who are unhappy about it. That is all I wanted to say. Have a good day y'all! :D

You know what's kinda weird? There are actually players here that did play the D1 version of VOG. They knew the strategies and knew the raid well. Bungie changed mechanics around and such to give these players more of a hard time and less of a speed run. Sorry that you were expecting an EZ GG raid run and actually got a challenge.

Wow you actually gotta be awake for the encounter now smh

1 ReplyOh no you have to have to use brain for once

It’s easy. Everyone stand by an Oracle. Listen for the tones. Number your Oracles as they sound off Shoot your Oracle in the correct number you heard the tone. And done. It’s not rocket science.

I feel that most true PvE players welcome the challenge. The ones complaining are the PvP players who can’t count or distinguish between left/middle/right. The raid is fun and the changes are fun and make it a little more difficult. All these PvP players knock on PvEers who -blam!- about doing PvP for weapons and such. Oh how the tables have turned. Maybe you PvP players should stick to PvP and leave the end game PvE to the PvEers. I’m sure I’ll get a “I’d destroy you in the crucible remark”. Which I reply with, I’ll see you and the final boss chest, oh wait no I won’t.

51 RepliesI F***ING CALLED IT I called it, that they would destiny 2 the raid somehow... You know, add mechanics that are unwelcome and change the original raid. Do you know why I'll always consider d1 raids to be far superior? Easy explaination. Mechanics that are simple, fun and easy to learn. Good boss fights. Fun encounters with good loot. D2 raids. Overly complicated mechanics that can tedious, unfun and hard to learn depending on various things. Boss fights that are hectic and damage phases that suck. Unfun encounters with decent loot. Its odd, bungie kept on the tradition of having fantastic set pieces for raids... They just made them overly complicated. That was until DSC... That raid was fun, easy to learn and not overly complicated. I assumed bungie would have learned and taken feedback from that. Why am I not suprised they didn't.

Just assign everyone to an oracle. Someone will have to cover 2 and everyone help with ads. Once your oracle pings and comes up, that’s your order number to kill it.

5 RepliesBungie once again changing what doesn’t need to be changed.

Very easy

I agree, counting is hard.

So counting is to hard for you?

Edited by DeathPony07: 5/24/2021 7:36:16 AMI'm so excited to be pissed off and deal with bugs, and stupid mechanics to get weapons I already have in my D1 vault. Plus, all the challenges I already completed for Age of Triumph, so I can earn a title I should already have from being a veteran player. Don't bring back any more legacy raids if you're just gonna ruin them like VoG.

1 ReplyEdited by parallelish: 5/24/2021 6:06:14 PMthere were a lot of ways to cheese oracles and templar in D1 and they wanted to fix the issues even back then but the raid was already old when the issues came up and the shield needed to be reworked which would have been a lot of work for old content. fighting templar and ignoring oracles because everyone could just group up and get cleansed by shield bearer was not challenging or how the content was intended to be played.

Edited by Wicked_Winnie: 5/24/2021 2:25:19 PM
Changing it to have tonpop oracles in order is lame. Hate it
Easy mode strat: Assign everyone an oracle (some get 2). Back left takes L1 and left snipers Front left takes L2 and L3 (L3 is also called pocket) 1 Mid player takes mid and ads, 2nd Mid player helps with middle ads and assisting cover with both Left and Right snipers on back platforms (this helps the back left and right players focus more on the forward snipers). Back Right player takes R1 and Right snipers Front Right player takes R2 & R3 So with players assigned their oracles all you have to do is count up when you hear your the ding and see your oracle. They show it to you twice, count it out loud BOTH times to confirm. Example: L1 dings 1st (my oracle) - I call out "1" R1 dings 2nd, back right player calls out "2" Mid oracle dings in 3rd. mid player calls out "3" Pattern repeats and we repeat callouts to confirm order. Oracles start coming in: I shoot L1 and call "1 clear" Right player shoots R1 and calls "2 clear" Mid player shoots mid and calls "3 clear" The beauty of having them show the order to us TWICE is sometimes we are busy killing ads when the dinging starts so the first round can be your cue to get back in position and get the order callouts on the next show. It is actually a VERY easy method to clearing this quickly. In fact the ONLY way you should have a wipe here is if team gets marked (for wrong order) and a greedy player jumps into cleanse pool without waiting for others. TL;DR: Don't try to "memorize" the order. Assign oracles and when they are showing you the order have players count up as they ding in confirming their shot. Confirm Clear (ie, 1 clear, 2 clear.. etc) after oracle shot.

1 ReplyCounting hard, Grug sad

Really! Counting to three and repeating the order is so hard you had to rant about it! Poor you!

BLACKxRIFLE You make some valid points and I agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

3 RepliesMy deaf team finally beat VoG today We find Oracles encounter way too difficult it’s take about 2 hours Final boss not too bad keep practicing and practicing We use in game chat
-
I at first didn’t like it but after doing it a few times I don’t really think it’s that bad. I am however extremely happy that they brought vog back by far my favorite raid. They should bring all d1 raid back have them on a weekly rotation.
-
Git gud it's not that bad after 50 wipes you get pretty good at the oracles especially at atheon
-
2 RepliesOracle change does not suck. They show you TWO times what the sequence is, and small changes like this were necessary to Improve the classic. In a week or two everyone will have adapted, and it will not be a problem.

7 RepliesEdited by Phyromancer: 5/23/2021 2:48:27 AMI've been out enjoying beautiful days outdoors lately. I missed this by several miles.😂 So, is this a permanent change in VoG now?... If it is, then what a way to screw-up a well beloved raid, huh?... Well deserve slow clap! 👏 👏 👏 Didn't gamers asked for nostalgia?... 😂😂😂 They gave you the finger instead. 😂😂😂 I'm starting to understand what they mean by "Evolving World!" It morphs into something the loyal fans would eventually hate. 😂😂😂 Logic! (By the way, Who won world's second VoG?...) Did the regular babies who cry, win?...So much for giving handouts, huh?... 😂😂😂 Logic!
