• WoW - go to transmog vendor, pay gold/silver (in game currency easily obtained (destiny’s version of glimmer)), you are done
• Assassins Creed games - go to start menu, change appearances (for free..), you are done
• Destiny 2 - farm a new base currency for hours, convert it to obtain a quest to go grind for more hours for bounty progress, finish and turn this in for one material to convert one item..
Your move Bungie

Don’t you have to grind for currency in AC Valhalla? Or conveniently purchase some from the Ubisoft store? I remember playing Odyssey and being able to transmog anything but noticed it wasn’t a thing in Valhalla.

37 RepliesDo those other games give 33 free transmogs after a 10 minute quest too?

Assasins creed isnt transmog though. Its the same as ornaments or just equipping a different armor.

3 RepliesWhile I agree with you about Transmog, D2 is not an MMO, It's a mess of a FPSRPG that doesn't know what it wants to be and usually goes about anything they are trying to do the wrong overly complicated way for absolutely no good reason. Bungie used to be one of the best, now they're one of the worst.

1 ReplyEdited by CyberVVolf: 5/19/2021 4:27:38 AMUbisoft added Transmog to The Division 2 this past summer and it's a complete system that is simple and free with no grind at all. This is how their Transmog system works (a real Transmog): Inspect item, click on apperance mod and pick from any item you have unlocked to create the Transmog. Done, simple and easy with no grind or push to spend real money. Bungie is just a greedy, pathetic, garbage company who only cares about their own earnings. Here is a growing list of articles discussing how terrible Bungie's Greedmog is! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/258838192?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 I think it's time to get #Boycott Bungie and #Season of the Greedmog trending on Twitter

1 ReplyThis needs more upvotes. I’m glad transmog made it to Destiny 2 but the way it functions is freagin slimy.

I reinstalled d2 quick to check it out and its amazing how they made it a grind. Division 2 didn’t have transmog for a good while and they added the option and that was it nothing special to it, you just needed to get any gear piece and it was automatically transmog option just doesn’t work on exotics...but no option to hide gear and most of the outfits are mostly all pretty bad but either way simple transmog

I know mobile gacha games that have a better transmog system than destiny...

Edited by VegetativeST8: 5/19/2021 10:45:03 PMThey could have respected players who have been grinding all along. They didn't have to introduce a new material and time gate it. They didn't need to introduce a bounty on top of that. Bungie: We recognize we have too many bounties and the game shouldn't feel like a series of chores. So what do they introduce? Another grind/ bounty. Cap it to 10 a season post "un-sunsetting" - Not great, but OK Cap it to 10 AND make me regrind - Not OK. New players don't care. They don't have the "collection" or tons of material. If they had offered a material exchange in lieu of the grind it would have been infinitely better. Looks at 3500 Gunsmith Mods and 35K Gunsmith materials...7500 vanguard tokens, 5K IB tokens... used to be 32K crucible tokens. If they simply said resetting ranks in Crucible/ Gambit or 20 levels at Vanguard/ Gunsmith/IB / Planetary vendors unlocks a transmog piece... that would have gone over way better. And been a ton less work. Maybe then they could have concentrated programming assets on fixing existing problems... Like PVP.. go play PVP. Like Strikes - knock yourself out. A simple drop for playing. Still lots of time in game. A level of effort that the average player would do in a season, and that the hardcore base has already done and would do anyway. Bungie continues to miss the mark. Instead of an easy victory and tons of goodwill, they got greedy. Edit: I don't even care about the ornaments. My characters always look like Hobos. The only reason I even have a shader on is because of the intro for ADA's fashion boutique. I am responding to bad decisions that are driving players away needlessly and hurting performance in every game mode. Things that are costing Bungie current and future customers.

Transmog is 100% free in Diablo 3. As long as you have received the item you can transmog it.

1 ReplyFinal Fantasy 14 - Buy glamour prisms on the market board for at most 80k gil a stack, use those glamour prisms on a glamour dresser to place gear as transmog you are done

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 5/18/2021 8:21:30 PMLol, I'm sure they already know all that... No sunsetting, so no more grind for armors. The new grind is transmog...

1 ReplyArguably this idea of making any non-exotic a universal ornament could and should have been implemented like 7yrs ago, and could/should be as simple as the current shader system, BUT really, I only used enough for a few helms and chests, and maybe 1 each gloves/boots, so in reality it’s ok….just ok not great but not terrible either

12 RepliesAren't you comparing pay to play games vs. free to play game? - WoW - Pay 15$/per month, go to transmog vendor, pay gold/silver (in game currency easily obtained (destiny’s version of glimmer)), you are done - Assassins Creed games - buy game 59,99$ - go to start menu, change appearances (for free..), you are done - Destiny 2 - Go to store, pay 10$ get 5 pack, go to transmog menu, you are done. Prices might not be right, but this is the way I see it.
-
Diablo 3 will still have the superior transmogrification system of any game that has implemented it.
-
Honestly, I don’t mind the grind to much. Don’t get me wrong, ide rather have a transmog system that works like W.O.Ws but it is what is is. However, I do take issue to the fact that they put a seasonal cap on the grind. That’s E.A. levels of greedy right there. So despite our differences of opinions, I think we can both agree on one one thing. The transmog system in its current form and a bad and needs change.
-
3 RepliesSo go play them if you are so worried about dress up and how they decided to go about it.
-
8 Repliesnot sure if you noticed, this isn't those games...
-
You forgot the just buy the materials part for real money. This is how they want it and it’s not going to change.
You forgot : - Dropping the base item to pay for the bounty that will give you the intermediate item that will give you the item for ONE transmog is time gated. To the point that for your 10 transmog on a class you'll first have to play more than 48h. - You can only do 10 transmog per class per season.
-
All I see are familiar cash grabs, cosmetics, and more money

I liked Everquest 2's system. There was a separate appearance equipment section, drop in the item you want to show into the appearance slot and all done. Bungie, farm uncommon material, buy bounty from Ada, complete bounty, return to Ada. I don't care what anybody says, that last step was just them being Bungie and making us go back again for no real reason.

2 RepliesFFXIV Shadowbringers: 1. Aquire armor. 2. Fast travel to inn or house that has a wardrobe. 3. Put armor in wardrobe. It is now a universal ornament. Transmog should have been a simple quality of life change.

Terraria: place armor/clothing in the vanity slot That's it
