[b]Alignment:[/b] “I’ll make sure every nook and cranny has been seen. Are you sure you all will be fine?”

You manage to grab a hold, though—while slowed—its momentum still carries it down, smacking you in the stomach.

[i]Alignment takes advantage of that small amount of force by slightly turning and attempts to throw the monster into the laser it dodged.[/i]
-
As it moves towards the beam, it smacks into one of the orbs, changing the laser’s trajectory. As the beam moves, it wound up grazing across the creature’s back, causing it to let out a cry, and scamper off away from you. Fukua had managed to punch the other one in the face with a hair drill, and it ran off as well. The two creatures moved side to eachother, and ran over to one of the pillars, which they began to attack. Fukua carefully moved over to you, not taking her eyes off them. “Any idea what they’re doing?” She asked.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Trying to bring the place down?”

“But, can’t Aubrey just control the whole tower? Why would she-“ The pillar snaps, and falls to the ground, covering the middle of the hall. The two creatures stand behind it, and strike it with their claws, sending it rolling towards you at high speed.

[i]Alignment retrieves his balls and holds onto one of them as he floats it upwards. He also uses his string ability to grab Fukua so she goes up with him.[/i]

The pillar rolls under you, crashing into the wall you were formerly standing in front of. After you had managed to dodge it, though, one of the beasts ran towards the two of you, vines stretching out from its back, ready to whip you as soon as it got close enough.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Fukua, I’m giving you some high ground!” [i]He throws her above him and splits his ball apart into 10, clustering 6 together and sending them with her as a small platform. He uses the 4 he has left to form a shorter and slightly weaker version of his sword configuration as he drops down and prepares to strike the approaching monster from above.[/i]

Fukua aims her hair, and fires off a barrage of small energy spheres at the beast, knocking away most of its vines, and clearing the way for your decent. With her cover fire, you manage to land cleanly, piercing through the creature’s chest. It lifelessly falls to the ground, leaving you with one left. It growls, and paces back and forth. It doesn’t really seem to know what to do. “I think we have an opening..” Fukua said.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “A cornered beast is a desperate one. I’ll make sure we do.” [i]He throws his 4 balls at the monster to surround it in a laser fence and limit its movements.[/i] [b]Alignment:[/b] “All yours, Fuku.”

The creature looks around for a way out, but finds itself cornered. Fukua’s hair lets off a bright glowing sheen, as she runs towards it. A few locks spread out to form a makeshift set of wings, which give her just a bit of extra lift on her jump. Now leaping over it, she kicks downwards, as hair spirals around her leg to form a drill, that pierces straight through its chest. It wobbles back and forth a bit before collapsing as well.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Good work! Bonus points for style.”

"Thanks!" Fukua said, as the corpses of the beasts began to move, slowly crawling towards eachother. Fukua took a step back, as they began untangling themselves, before weaving themselves together into a single larger creature that took up almost half of the room. What was formerly a vaguely head-shaped stump coming out of its neck was now a clearly defined head, which split apart to form a wide mouth with several thorny teeth. It let out a roar, and three tongue-like vines lashed about through its open jaw. "Great... It's even bigger now.." Fukua said, taking a few steps back towards you.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “On the bright side, it’s easier to hit. On the other side...” [i]He retrieves all of his balls.[/i] [b]Alignment:[/b] “It’s still a bigger pain to deal with. But I think I have a plan.”

The thing took two lumbering steps forwards, and Fukua took a step back. “Oh yeah? What’s the plan?” She asked.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “First things first. I’m a little low on energy right now, so I need you to shoot some of those hair blasts at me while we avoid this giant. Don’t worry, I can absorb them.”

“Uh, they’re kinda like an extension of my soul. They don’t really fire off permanently, but trickle back after I use them. Any extra energy I could give you would start to drain pretty fast.”

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Not good. Have any junk on you.”
-
The beast takes two more lumbering steps towards you. You get the feeling you don’t have too much longer to plan. “Uh, I have a couple of granola bars, does that help?” Fukua asked.

[b]Alignment:[/b] “Deal! Throw them to me!”
-
She pulls three packages of SAYU-brand granola bars out of her pocket, and tosses them over to you.

[i]Alignment swipes the bars with his Conservation ability to absorb them.[/i] [b]Alignment:[/b] “Next step: cut down another pillar while I keep this thing busy!” [i]He uses his string ability to attach himself onto the arm of the monster and swing in the air.[/i]

The beast immediately gets distracted by you, trying to lash out with its tongues. It misses, and after several lashes, gives up, instead lifting out the arm you were swinging on, causing several whipping vines to grow off its surface, ready to strike you. Fukua moves over to the pillar, and begins striking it with her hair. “Oh come on, break!” She yells. “Those monsters made it look so easy.. I’ll be a minute!”

[i]Alignment once again arranges his ball into his sword configuration and slashes at the vines as they get close.[/i]

You manage to slice several of them away, but one manages to strike you, throwing you off your strings and onto the ground. The beast roars, and lifts one of its massive claws to crush you. Fukua had taken to trying to drill through the pillar, but it was a slow process. You’d have to hold out for some time yet.
