So one of the upcoming cutscenes for the season got leaked and its rather aggravating constantly hearing all these Eliksni conplaints about evil murderous guardians and whatnot like they never did anything bad at all. Its obvious as hell Bungie is doing this with IRL parallels in mind and I'm really sick of it.

1 ReplyTbh this only made me like Saint even more. The Fallen Saint killed deserved it. They started the Human-Fallen war, attacked first without provocation.

1 ReplyThe "white versus black versus gray" story has been blatantly apparent since the trailer for Beyond Light, and honestly even since the lore of D1 if you actually read it... not that I did, but still it's there. This perspective of Guardians being immortal killing machines is nothing new. We've always been frightening as all hell. The story has just finally evolved to the point where we're seeing that perspective in-game. With Crow's own tales and now with the Eliksni. Yeah it sounds preachy. Whatever. It's not affecting your gameplay any.

1 ReplyIts almost as if war brings out the worst in people. The important thing is that now Saint has the opportunity to atone for past wrongs, and I'm sure he will do.
-
2 RepliesIf anything I'm surprised and rather disappointed that they're not more afraid of US. Ours was the Guardian that: -Tore apart the House of Devils' lair, killed their Prime Servitor Sepiks. -Ripped House Winter to shreds, waltzed into their home Ketch and killed their Kell and all his bodyguards. -Obliterated the House of Wolves. -Did a rather good job of dismantling the House of Kings, though outside of their Archon Priest I don't know if we took out any of their leadership outside of some top lieutenants. Really feeling sidelined here.
-
It’s been canon for a while that saint went on a massive eliksni killing spree. Hell, the finisher we got from season of dawn was supposed to mimic the time he caved a kell’s head in using just his own head

How dare they provide another viewpoint
-
Ding døng, ur opinion is wrong
-
Look man. Do you really think all eliksni are murderers? There are literally baby fallen in house of light they are innocent, they do not represent the actions of their predecessors. There are innocent fallen all around. The world isnt black and white man, things are very nuanced in this game and in real life.
-
The guardian has also killed hundreds of thousands of Eliksni(something I have grown tired of) , but Mithrax still works with us If we are putting what they did behind us, then for this to work Mithrax needs to do the same Variks more or less told him this in the Titan mark lore , he also said he is not coming to the last city , I guess afraid he will be put on trial for his role in Caydes death, but that would cause conflict with the awoken 🤔
-
I'm pretty sure Destiny came out before whatever IRL stuff you are referencing.
-
1 ReplyYou do realize that many eliksni never did anything wrong. We have killed innocent fallen before. So ya, they’re gonna be upset.
nibbles crayon
-
Well, in the cutscene it mentions that Saint didn't stop at the hostile Eliksni, he killed everyone, even the innocent ones. Also it mentions that both sides need to work together to survive.

8 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 5/14/2021 9:50:05 PMKnew a post like this was coming. Knew some people would see it as this in only a negative way. You’re only further illustrating the point and why fiction tackles things like this in the first place, but sure act like it’s some “woke” BS instead. Woke has become a scare tactic buzzword for the ignorant more than anything else.

3 RepliesThis has to be bait, right? Nobody is actually built like this, right?

14 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 5/14/2021 9:32:39 PMMissed the point, completely. Monsters never see monsters in the mirror....and history is written by the winners. Yes, there are IRL parallels, because what you’re looking at is TRIBALISM at work, and how it distorts people’s view of events. Just like the Elliksni forget that they invaded this system and started killing its inhabitants and strip mining the bones of their civilization..... ....certain people forget that there was a thriving culture here in North America when colonists came here 300 years ago. The whole point that the is being made is that good and evil reside in every society and every group. No group is definitionally good in all things, nor definitionally evil. Some Eliksni are good. Some are bad. Some Guardians are good. Others are not. The Iron Lords dealt with the first batch of evil light bearers. Ikora, The Praxic Order and Shin Malphur are dealing with any that fall off the wagon currently. The point is get people to see beyond the tribalism that is tearing the real world apart right now. The pint is to get you to see others as individuals instead of members of a group. To see a “you” instead of one of “them”. They are trying to teach an important lesson here. Actually the criticism that Eido leveled against us about how we take the Traveller’s Gifts for granted and use them for sport was a legitimate one. While Guardians use the Crucible for training, City Dwellers treat it like dog fighting. A blood sport for their entertainment.

6 RepliesThey will need to address that both Guardians/Humans and Eliksni have done wrong. Nobody is perfect and in times of war, a LOT of bad things will happen. To make it seem like Saint is awful but then act like Eliksni are perfect just because Misraaks acts like they are doesn't mean they are. This better end up being written better, because I definitely think they're forgetting the murders that Eliksni did to go alongside with the lore of Guardians murdering.

Edited by Spooky_Ari: 5/15/2021 5:46:32 PMOh yes, because in game stories don't have any sort of conflicts within them that aren't relatable struggles of real life.
-
I’d deport all of them -blam!-.
-
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. That has always been the case. Nothing new in this. Does it hurt your brain or something?
-
That's because you're hearing their side of what's happened to them. Which is obviously going to be very biased towards them and against us. They're not going to talk about how they've eaten humans (A new lore book mentions it can't remember the name, has the drifter in a bar with some fallen) or anything bad about them

I stopped caring about story/lore & whatever else bungo try to shoehorn in, I skip any skippable dialogue now; maybe you should too!
-
Saint is a monster. His dialogue says it all.

Edited by mikeyrox1234: 5/15/2021 1:51:52 PMThey get killed! We get killed! EVERY BODY GETS KILLED!!! We come back though 😁
-
Not a single comment about the badass looking helmet ornament!?!?! I could care less what he’s done, GIMME THAT HELMET!

2 RepliesJust to clear something for you. Fallen=the bad guys that came from the collapse and started trying to kill us Eliksni=peaceful people of the Fallen race that only want their gif back. Mithrax is saying they’re peaceful because they’re Eliksni, so Saint killing them is unjustified.
