The heck are you thinking with Armor Synth

Are you and EA in some form of competition for worst monetization model in the history of gaming or are you just that greedy and inept Bungie. I mean honestly, this is ridiculous and blatantly so. You took something we as a community begged for since Destiny 1 and butchered it. Cleaved it right to the bone and sold us this grotesque thing as what we always asked for and expected us to be alright with it because you gave us what we wanted. But the thing is, this isn't what we wanted, this is a horribly corrupted and malformed approximation of what we wanted. I was genuinely optimistic about Armor Synth when it was announced. I became weary when 3 weeks prior to its launch we hadn't heard much. Only for my skepticism to grow when information was released and it was mentioned that it would be another bounty based system, I got even more worried when it was revealed there are limits on it per season, not week, and that there would be motivation associated with it. Anyone who has played a live service knows that anything with monetary value tied to it is going to automatically be a nightmare to aquire through in game means. Now my fears have been fully realized. A MANDATORY FIVE HOUR grind to get enough currency for a single bounty that may take another 2 hours depending on how unlucky you are because of course the bounties are random FOR ONE ARMOR PIECE ORNAMENT. What is genuinely worse is how you blatantly advertise the alternative, the eververse. Did you honestly think this was good? Did you really believe that this would make us happy. A community that is already so angry, so bitter, so disillusioned, that some of your most iconic personalities have left the game indefinitely. All you needed to do was give us this one thing, this one thing needed to be perfect. But you had to, HAD TO prioritize the marginally higher profit. I hope you are proud Bungie, I hope that few extra dollars per whale was worth it. You are no better than Activision now. At least back then we could give you the benefit of the doubt and blame it on Activision, but maybe it was just you all along.

  • I don't understand the problem. Like someone said, it's basically just to make your armor look like some other older armor. It has no value to you, you only see your character in cut scenes and the Tower. Yes, Bungie is about making them dollaz. It's kind of a requirement for them to stay in business. People complaining about paying for stuff with real money... how else do they keep the lights on? I don't know how big the player base is these days. If the game is F2P and everyone except the whales just play for free, that's a terrible, TERRIBLE business model. It's interesting that video games are the only industry where everyone gets hacked off when the developers try to actually make a profit. They may be recycling older content, but are there enough players paying enough money to justify introducing grand new content? The video game industry is one of the most volatile, unstable, -blam!- industries in the world. Development houses can go bankrupt almost overnight. Unless you have some insider insight as to how their specific company is run, how decisions are made, what their revenue is, how that drives the decisions they make, what can be reasonably included from a financial and architectural standpoint, et cetera ad nauseum, might I suggest just... you know... playing the game they give you? Or stop playing. Or make your own.
