Legendary Lost Sector Bug?
Is there a cap on the number of times you can run the legendary lost sector?
I ran it in attempts of getting the new boots, and on my third attempt I got the Lunafaction boots (yes, exotic), and as I already had them I thought it was weird because it's supposed to be a checklist, right? I should be getting the new boots before any other exotic boot drops. But I ran it several more time trying to get them, and this last time I got *nothing* when I opened the chest.
Is this a bug, bad rng, or what?

Well I saved one lost sector exotic engram at the postmaster, from the previous season, and got it today that the master one gives legs. It was a longshot, but guess what... I got the new titan legs without ever doing a lost sector 😀

1 ReplyI had the same thing happen on my hunter. 2 runs I just got glimmer, 1 run I got a single core then finally got an exotic for it the be the gemini jesters :/

Cool, I never get any of the new lost sector exotics... Why? I honestly don't even know. Like I am grinding for them at extended periods and keep getting exotics that I already own instead of the new ones.

If I’m running one for boots the new exotic is in the pool but so are the old ones.I ran 4 this morning and the new one dropped so I moved onto Gambit to grind the new fusion rifle quest.I use the legendary lost sectors to farm better rolls on all exotics.

Bad RNG. Last night: Warlock, new exotic on 3rd run Titan, 1st run Hunter, nothing for first 3 runs, psyched out by Bungo with Frostee5 on 4 (no idea why, i have them already), and then got new on #10.

1 ReplyBad rng. I ran it yesterday and the first 3 times I got absolutely nothing from the chest. Like literally just air came out. The 4th time gave me the new Titan boots yay.

Did that grind last night after I got home for two hours. Dude in party with me got it first try. I got nothing but enhancement cores and a random purple armor about every third run for two hours. Never got an exotic much less the new one🤦♂️ Had it down to 6-7 minutes per completion that last hour so I ended up with around 15 total runs.

I don't know if it's a weird bug or what but I've been doing them off and on since beyond light release, not really hardcore farming them, but I'll do about 5-10 runs every now and then. So far since beyond light I've only managed 3 actual new exotic drops and a dozen or so old exotics I already had. Mask of bakris, necrotic grip, and athrys embrace are the only new exotics I've obtained since beyond light, and all three were below 60 stat rolls 😑

3 RepliesI think something weird might be happening? I dunno got the new boots for my hunter and titan just fine but I’ve spent hours and hours and hours trying to get the warlock boots. Then I noticed it wasn’t telling me if I hit platinum or gold or whatever until I reset my xbox. Plus BUNGIE’s tracker didn’t seem to properly tell how many times I did the lost sector - sometimes it would just read “Exploring EDZ”.. So now I keep restarting my Xbox after every completion just to be safe. 🤷♂️ Could just be terrible RNG but who knows.

1 ReplyIt's all RNG, just deal with it. If it drops in one run, perfect, if it drops after your 150th run you should celebrate! When it comes to Bungie nothing is for certain besides the grind! You'd better dig in, it's going to be dirty!

I usually have this happen on my first exotic reward for the season. When BL launched I got shards of galanor instead of the new one. Last season and today it happened as well.

Got my new Titan exotics after SEVEN runs. Not too bad at all.

It's RNG. My Titan and Warlock both got their new pants after two runs. Meanwhile it took my Hunter two and a half hours to get his.

Man I had some good luck with this. First run on Titan and boom got the new legs

It took me quite a few runs on each character to get the new boots on each class. At first, even after clearing the lost sector, the Legend icon (and ability to run it as such) did not appear until I restarted the game. Many runs just gave me glitter. The more I did, I started to get gear and eventually some cores. It seems progressive in that way but i could certainly be mistaken. Hope this helps.
