with respect, I think that's missing the point. The OP isn't asking for PvP players to have anything taken away, he's asking why include a mandatory PvP element in a quest for a weapon that wasn't initially gained in a PvP activity anyway? Bungie already gives a choice of whether to do PvE or PvP for certain rewards. The stasis quests are one example and the recent Pinnacle Games Platinum rewards are another. So they clearly recognise that people prefer different activities and it seems perverse that for a good number of Exotics and their catalysts that they try to force people into activities that they know many people don't enjoy, especially when many of them drop in PvE activities in the first place. I don't really see the point tbh. Who gains from this? It just makes Bungie look a bit mean spirited tbh

I'm sure they could do that. But Bungie has basically always done this where you may only have a pvp option for things. It's been this way for 6 years, all the way back in D1 with invective and thorn. You basically have to expect it now. At least now, it's only like 10% of quests that need PvP only, like 90% is over only. Except for "the last word" all are progressive and don't have any negative progression. So eventually anyone can earn them. Don't expect to get all the loot if you don't play the whole game. Why play a game that has done this for 6 years if you hate it so much? The reviews are out there...

  • because not everything has to be a binary choice.. If you like much of the game but don't agree with a certain aspect, then why shouldn't you be able to voice that? If a lot of people complain about things, there's a small chance Bungie will listen: they did it with sunsetting, after all. Even if the chance is small, it's 100% certain nothing will change if nobody says anything

You can have your opinion, I'm just stating how things are. If the game wasn't where I liked it, I'd be playing something else, rather than struggling so much I have to complain on a forum. People don't need to collect everything, if they need to, that's on them for forcing themselves to play pvp. I'll leave the get development to the experts. If you know game development so well, just make your own destiny killer, I'd love to play it. Bungie looks at the numbers, if not enough people do the PvP quests, they will change it so more people will obtain it. Must be ok if they leave it...

  • Unclear to me why you would think I'm an expert on game development from my comment, but OK. Pleased for you that you like every single aspect of every game you play, but I'd suggest not everyone is that fortunate. And if a game developer creates a forum then I'd have thought at least part of the reason would be to gauge feedback from the player base, so I'd argue they're inviting people to comment by having this place open in the first place. Yes they look at numbers, but they also look at mood. Numbers didn't tell them to change their sunsetting plans: player feedback did
