The only (and I mean only) plus to this to it is that once your around level 20 of the season, you get a 4x (Catalyst Quest Boosts Alpha and Omega) boost on kills.
I got 48 points (12 kills) in my first Crucible match of the season and I'm level 26 of the pass.
The Step 3 is more of the same too - guess they ran out of ideas, cause "Originality is Hard"...
