The legendary void AR from D1’s VoG was my first legendary weapon I earned. Just curious why it didn’t make the cut.
-
My guess is because its archetype doesn't exist in D2. The High ROF Low impacts from D1 where pretty much replaced by SMGs in D2.
-
Best grape marshmallow machine gun ever. Remember scaring crucible players, thinking I had heavy with the elemental glow on the bullets.
The legendary void AR from D1’s VoG was my first legendary weapon I earned. Just curious why it didn’t make the cut.
honestly, it wasnt that good. the only thing it was even decent for, was oracles, which there are better stuff: fatebringer (which i actually still dont have legendary version 😢) the found verdict shotgun from vog. i understand why they couldve brought back all the weapons but there was no need to bring back the not very good ones.
-
It is unfortunate, not that I actually used it. A good alternative if you have one is Reckless Oracle from Garden.

6 RepliesI remember preatorian foil was just as rare as the crux of crota...and the guys who had them were dead during every encounter.
-
9 RepliesProbably because there's no 900RPM archetype of Autos anymore. They might not have wanted to make it a 720 because then it'd be different to how people remembered it. Bringing it back at 900RPM is also a problem because then it's basically a 900RPM SMG but with better range, stability, and damage, so why would anyone use a 900RPM SMG anymore?

1 ReplyNo Atheon’s Epilogue No Praedyth’s Timepiece No Praetorian Foil Corrective Measure is the wrong archetype 😐😐😐
-
Muh baby is not coming back :C
-
I’m bummed about that too. One of my favorite raid weapons from d1
-
8 RepliesBecause there are tons of void ARs in the game right now that are better than that gun ever was.
-
1 ReplyDo we need another void AR in the game? Gnawing Hunger is still everywhere.
-
22 RepliesCurated gnawing hunger is better.
-
12 RepliesI used that to finish the Thorn pvp quest back in d1
-
6 RepliesThe first legendary weapon you earned was a VoG weapon? You went into VoG running blues?
-
8 RepliesSame type of Auto that were converted into SMG archetypes. Sad, I'll never get to see Soulstealer's Claw in D2 for the same reason.
-
Praetorian Foil 😭💔

1 ReplyEdited by faust: 5/13/2021 2:41:20 AMYeah I'm bummed. Was looking forward to Atheons. This season is seriously lacking in auto rifles imo. Atheons was an awesome raid auto rifle. It looked sick too. I dont get why they would leave it out but I dont get 98% of their whack ass decisions.
-
I assume it due to being a 900 rof which is smg territory. Wonder how they will do necrocasim
-
I reckon it’s because it’s a 900 rpm autorifle, which is an archetype that no longer exists. Making it a 720 wouldn’t make sense because there’s already a void 720 in Reckless Oracle. In any case, it was a pretty bad weapon so if something f had to be cut, I’m fine with it being the epilogue
-
What? 😫 Bungie why?
-
If thats true then that really sucks, was looking foward to farming Vog in the hopes of getting it :(
-
I loved that auto rifle. Sad it's not coming back.
-
I’m a little disappointed to see Atheon’s Epilouge be excluded in the VOG weapon loot pool as it was my #1 favorite raid auto rifle in D1. Although Reckless Oracle makes up for it’s absence, it’d be greatly appreciated and I’d be happy to see it alongside Pradeyth’s Timepiece and Praetorian Voil be added into VOG soon.
-
I'd have been happy with it being a 720RPM. There's just something about the old Destiny 1 auto rifle non-foundry frames which are just satisfying to look at and listen to.
-
Maybe because it was a 900rpm

10 RepliesEdited by michael: 5/13/2021 4:53:07 PMI already replied to this but upon further thought I am pretty sure it is because destiny 2 did away with complete weapon sets from raids. In D1 there was a weapon of every type for every raid, I would list them to prove it but I don't remember some of the names but I guarantee that if you looked at the old D1 database every raid has every type of primary, secondary, and heavy in the game. In D2, raid weapon sets are partial, only having 7 or 8 weapons. Think of garden of salvation with only 2 kinetic weapons and no heavies, but FIVE energy weapons. Name three raids in D2 that drop a machine gun. To keep the loot table consistent with destiny 2 they had to cut a few pieces of loot from what existed in d1. It is ridiculous, and I don't know why they made this design change going into d2, but that is probably why atheons epilogue, praedyths timepiece, and praetorian foil got cut. They were the least popular guns in the pool so at least they chose the right ones to drop.
