I feel for you. I've helped a few people earn "The Last Word", get trials wins, get wins in Competitive to earn Luna's howl back when it was harder to do so. Destiny will always have PVP and PVP parts to some quests, its been this way since Invective and Thorn in D1, 6 years now. You cant get all the goodies if you dont play the whole game. You basically have to expect it nowadays with that track record. Do you want PVP tips?

I don't think people wan't all the goodies, i passed off the Ignious Hammer for once, i could have crashed some trails just to get it, jump of the ledges for a while. But i think that is the wrong method to get something. i have no problem with earning the loot. Not just the way things are now. PVP should be of choice not forced like Bungie seem to want it. No people want the possibility to earn loot in different ways and heck most of us have payed money for it so!

Edited by Novoca1ne: 5/12/2021 3:18:36 AMYeah I understand that. A lot of people like/love PVP. I understand the concepts and see why people enjoy it. I just don't have the eyesight/reflexes required to compete and like someone else pointed out, a crap player trying to get steps/catalysts is unfair to the rest of the fireteam trying to get good scores/ranking. I've watched a ton of vids and have a clan that has provided some good tips. I just don't have what it takes to play PVP. D2 is the first game of this type I've ever played and I only started 3 months ago. I usually play Assassins Creed or other games that don't rely on a lot of PVP lol.

3 months? Wow! Welcome! I'm 44 and been gaming almost my whole life. PVP is very much a different animal compared to PVE. I've always been the "older" gamer when playing with most of my current gaming friends. I've had to adapt and use my knowledge of the maps and ranges to my advantage when people can out shoot me. Here's my list if tips, just in case they can help. The videos are some of the best i've found for beginners. Go into private matches to learn names of map locations (name is on the left side of screen), good for callouts when you play in a team. That can help with map knowledge and then you can also practice jumps and how to travel around the map. Sometimes you will have an experienced friend that can join you and show you all of their favorite places to stand, to hold down zones or guard pinch points or maybe heavy. Playing in the mornings can be easier than in the evenings. My favorite is weekend mornings. Using meta weapons and a strong offensive super definitely helps. Use what works, use what Bungie gives you that is strong and don't mind what people say about "cheap" weapons. Take what's yours! If you cant find good people in LFG to play with, its probably because their skill level is better than yours (no offense meant), I also run into this issue. I have an approximate 1.2 KD and 1.7 KDA. I try to use solo matchmaking help me find friends. If you play some matches and you like one or two people you played with, send them a "GG" good game, and ask if they would like to party up and play together. Why I think this is a good idea, Bungie matched you up with them, they probably have a similar skill level and are in a similar spot in grinding glory. Use bonus points to your advantage. If you play 3 games a week, you can get a 120 glory bonus. If you play all 12 weeks, that’s 1440 free points. You only need 660 points to get to fabled. Practice in Rumble or QP new weapons and supers Practice in Rumble your one on one skills. If you cant kill one person by yourself, it will be much harder for you to help out your team. Maybe invite other people you see struggling in PVP and invite them to play private matches and work on one on one skills, 4 vs 4 or whatever. Then grow together. Probably common knowledge, If you are the only one with a super, that can be a great time to use yours. No one around to counter you easily with a super of their own. Also you start generating orbs for your team mates so they can get their supers going. Watch Youtube strategy videos from Coolguy, True Vanguard, CammyCakes, Aztecross Gaming. Some of these guys even have their own Discord channels where you can LFG with their fans. I had good success with Coolguys. Some videos to improve game play. https://youtu.be/74e3mByi0d0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRCQ1XuqIis&list=LLjRe6uitkqC3_8OJD4ttVvQ&index=18&t=0s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPZuCj132Cg The #1 way to improve at Destiny PvP (ft. Sidezz) - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHqiawMXHtI https://youtu.be/3lkQ5ovg4t4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3RXO22ct2w https://youtu.be/hRrLSbizeKk https://youtu.be/oEqrWYQMoAM Super Mods, weapon scavenger perks, targeting Mods, Reload Mods, Dexterity and resilience Mods. On console, I use jumper controls. It allows me to punch and jump without having to take my thumb off of the look stick (practice new controls in pve, try doing a jumping punch (or shotgun) on someone's head). I also use an Elite controller, it allows me to put a button on the bottom of the controller so I can crouch or slide without taking my thumbs off the sticks. I recently started putting a button under the controller for the action button so I can shoot while I revive or disactivate a bomb and not be a sitting duck. The elite controller allows me to play other games and make the button layout identical to destiny so my buttons don't get mixed up in my head.

Without communication PVP is dead if you do not play Free for all and kill whatever comes up in your scope. I have been playing games since the 80's and on a competitive level in the 90's and to the early 2K After that i had other matter to attend to. Now i just play games for kicks and giggles, and as of late i feel that commodity is lacking. Both solo players and casual gamers are hanging in the wind. That is a big chunk of change for Bungie. I'm certain that PVP players do not spend even a fraction of the money that Bungie earns every month. Even with Gfuel and Youtube as big PVP supporters. If that part were to be so big and beautiful. Destiny 2 would never ever had gone F2P It sure h3ll can't compete with Fortnite or Warzone anyway!

Awesome. Thank you very much for this content. Will spend some time reviewing over the weekend. I also use a Elite controller and probably need to use the under-side triggers a lot more. It's a shame Bungie doesn't allow you to host PVP with clan however as explained to me, people would more than likely milk the system to progress their rankings etc.

What's the problem, let them as long it's on ranked servers. I don't care!

Don't forget to buy a Chronus Max so you can wipe PVP behinds til your heart content. I think i might try one out on another account just for the fun of it even if it's considered cheating.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 5/12/2021 4:29:16 AMElite Controller. Yeah, you paid for that advantage, put it to use. You can switch them up a bit, use the short one in the long slot or the long one in the short slot, up to you. Dont need to use all 4, you can start with just one or two. Fixing games. Yeah, you can play private matches, but those dont count. You are new to PVP. Your age might be showing, but if you put some work in, you will improve. In the beginning, the gains in skill can come faster. There are a lot of mechanics in the game that are second nature to most PVP players, the videos can teach you all of that. Trust me, you'll find it much more rewarding to earn it the old fashioned way. Improving your PVP skills will also make you a better PVE player. Good luck!
