Back in D1, exotics felt so special. There was a sense of mystery behind them. Now, it’s just so easy to get them that they’re kind of meh. I’d love to see exotics go back to how they used to be. Where the second it hit Friday at daily reset people would flock to Xûr in hopes of getting an exotic you didn’t have. Now Xûr is nearly irrelevant unless you need a Cipher. It’s sad to see because it takes away from an aspect that made the game amazing. Obviously there are bigger issues at hand but this is just a thought.

3 RepliesIt WAS a more exciting feeling to get an exotic to drop and it finally being that weapon you don't have...but it also sucked at the same time. New content comes out and I either get the exotic right away or months later started to get pretty old.

Well most of them are simply not special enough or don't do enough damage. Especially the heavy ammo ones. I expect from every heavy ammo wwapon to be a boss melter. I want variety. Not always the same loadouts like have anarchy or xeno blah blah...
-
I played d1 a reward weeks back and noticed alot of the exotic armor has 2 bonuses to their perks but you come to do and they've taken the secondary bit and given it to another exotic lol
-
True, to me is the fact that most Exotics now have a gimmick to them which just makes them weird, I don't want gimmick weapons, gives the simple yet powerful Exotics we had in D1 and in D2Y1

1 ReplyI disagree to an extent. I think (most) exotics are unique and interesting to use. Yes, some could use some updates to make them more potent, but they're mainly exotic in the sense that they're different. I will say that getting exotics no longer feels "good". We haven't had a pool of random drop exotics in forever which takes that exotic engram drop from exciting to just "what roll is this armor". Armor drops from the lost sectors, which are cool for farming purposes, but aren't interesting in the least bit. I had a guy get Eyes last night after 72 runs of DSC. Was it frustrating to run it that many times? Hell yeah. Was the moment that sweet sweet drop occurred a moment we won't ever forget? Hell yeah. I don't remember what my first exotic was in D2, but I remember when my first exotic dropped in D1 (Thunderlord in Crucible) and my first exotic from beating Aetheon (Monte Carlo). We don't have those moments anymore because rarity is non-existent, but we should.

1 ReplyYou should keep it down. I enjoy loot. The loot is what keeps me playing and coming back for more. Don't listen to this guy, Bungie. I don't know him. Give me more stuff, please and thank you.

1 ReplyDestiny players: "Exotics are too weak. Make them great again." Bungie: "Okay, we are buffing a bunch of exotics." Destiny players: "Waaahhh.....they are too OP. I can't compete in the Crucible. Nerf them!!!" Bungie: SMH! Yeah, to say Destiny players are buffoons, is an understatement.

6 RepliesThe -blam!- are you on? I just played Destiny 1 a few weeks ago and the exotics there are hot garbage (Universale Remote or Plan C anyone) and don't come @me with the classical "I used them in certain scenarios and therefore they are absolutely broken beyond belief!". One thing I also never got was why everyone thinks Gjallarhorn was the most broken dps weapon evur. I've played some D1 strikes and I must admit the the D2 strike bosses die way faster, regardless of modifiers.

1 ReplyTicuus Divination is what a Exotic should be, unique and strong in his own way, but it’s so underrated

Yes they do.

5 RepliesSorry, gonna call rose tinted glasses and nostolgia. Lament anyone? Witherhoard? Anarchy? One Thousand Voices? Duality? Bastion even ffs. I can keep going. Yea sure the D1 exotics are dope but as far as genuinely special and unique, there weren't anywhere near as many and they weren't as unique.

2 RepliesEdited by Grey Death Storm: 5/3/2021 8:34:20 PMWell guys you can blame all your over the top cry baby players for statement "Its to frighteningly OP it melts bosses" "Wahhhhaa Wahhhaa my Crucible experience was ruined because I stood still I kept getting shot in the face by that exotic weapon, that said exotic need nerfed"
-
16 RepliesLol you use jade rabbit and wonder why exotics don't feel exotic lol that's the plainest janest weapon out there 😂😂😂
-
1 ReplyI don't consider obtainability as a good hallmark of something worth being exotic, rather, how effective it is and how you revolve your playstyle around it.
-
1 ReplyThe exotics do feel special still. However, the need and use for them in activities are not in high demand. Nightfalls now require certain mods in order for you to complete. This reduce the variety of exotics that can be used in these types of activities. Most people will either run anarchy, exotic bow, or riskrunner. The rest are filled out with relevant legendaries. I think this is the problem with this type of limitation. People can’t really experiment without being punished.

4 RepliesThis is why i quit playing. Game didn’t feel the same with everyone running around with the same weapons.

1 ReplyThe excitement you got from seeing an exotic engram lying on the ground was awesome. Does that even happen anymore?
-
7 RepliesNah. Players got screwed out of exotics in D1 all because the game's RNG simply decided you couldn't have it and Xur would refuse to sell it. We don't need to go back to that. I like D2's method of tying the powerful exotics to quests. Divinity, Xenophage, Hawkmoon and Dead Man's were done just right.

2 RepliesVery true In D1 exotics were hard to get, you had to do raids and nightfalls hoping to get what you want , with a low chance of them dropping from strikes and crucible Three Of Coins made them a little easier to get , I got Telesto farming Draksis , but they dropped either a primary, special or heavy or armor engram , so it wasn't garaunteed to get what you want, is it was up to that sick bleep Rahool But in D2 they throw at exotics at you, so much they are almost has common has blues , exotics in lost sectors is a good step in the right direction though

1 ReplyAh, the joy of knowing the future! If only you knew the power I would grant your people once I return to this doomed planet! All I have to say is... Be patient, my dear friend. Opulence awaits you. ^This transmission was dutifully delivered by a Shadow of Earth from the Great Emperor Calus.

I agree, I miss early d1 days where legendaries were hard to come by, and exotics were super special
