Darkness in the Light (Malfeasance) quest bug - Kills not counting
I've been doing plenty of gambit lately for the season, and I'm still trying to get my Malfeasance, but the quest steps to have gotten stuck on Step 6, where it requires kills against other guardians.
I'm stuck at 18/25 opposing Guardians defeated, even though I have most definitely kill more than 25 now! I've come close, but so far I haven't managed to get my 4 'Kills as Invader' yet, though I've had teammates get the 4 kills at least twice. Only today did I find that it seems to have counted 1 set of those kills, and it's now showing at 33%.
I've read that apparently this has happened a lot in the past it seems, but still no fix? Any help here would be very appreciated!

1 ReplyWhy does bungie keep -blam!- up every exotic quest with pvp? Not a single person is asking for pvp quests for any gun exotic or not. I have been working on step 6 of Darkness In The Light for more than 3 years... -blam!- this game and quest, my kills as a invader aren't counting, haven't been counting and i don't know why, i have tried every suggestion thrown at me even abandoning the quest and picking it back up. Can they not just -blam!- vault it already, they vaulted the forsaken exotics and put them in the monument to lost lights, but no they couldn't put this bullshit gun that only works on ONE TYPE OF ENEMY in there. Literally soloing the Last Wish weapon is easier than this -blam!-, i wish bungie would -blam!- fix it or make the quest steps a bit -blam!- easier to obtain a 5 YEAR OLD GUN THAT LITERALLY NO ONE IS USING IN PVP... SO WHY THE -blam!- IS THE LAST STEP PVP BASED? THE LAST STEP SHOULD NOT BE RAID HARD. THIS IS ACTUAL BULLSHIT AND MAKES THE GAME NOT FUN. I have a better time and more -blam!- fun when i cut myself from depression.

It's not tracking mine and I rarely ever get even 3 kills in one invade and today I've done it four times and nothing is working I've got the 25 kills and I've been doing this quest over a couple year span and it's very frustrating especially with all the cheaters coming to d2 now specially in multiplayer based activites

1 ReplyI have found a solution to this bug, try playing the game on another platform… must have forsaken. I played on Pc had the bug, then played on my ps5 (which has forsaken) and now it’s working! Hope this helps someone

My friend is still having this issue. It's not even with the 4 kills in one go as the invader. He's not getting higher than 9/25 invader kills. Still no fix to this?

I'm having this same issue...gotten two Army of One medals today playing Gambit and the quest hasn't progressed past step 6 (still saying I need Kills as Invader).

They have to be "army of One" medals. I helped a fellow clan member the other day to get malfeasance. It only counts progress when You personally kill all 4 guardians on opposing team or someone on your team gets either 1 or 2 (all four guardians down during a single invasion, i.e. Army on One medal). Hope this helps!
