Potential Palindrome Problem

After doing research, this gun not only can roll with better range, stability, aim assist and recoil direction than all hand cannons but it demolishes even the next best in all categories. I am salty that I don't have one to be honest but Adept Palindrome's are about to make all HC's in the game look like garbage when compared. Just came back from a small break and wasted my time grinding Hawkmoon over this thing especially since it's going away. I do feel like a nerf to the gun will be a slap in the face to those who grinded it so I dont think a nerf will be fair although it is coming im sure. I hope this gun doesn't get all 140's nerfed but the only downside is that it cant be paired with a soon to be slightly nerfed felwinters. I also don't know how a range cap works but if there is no range cap, I imagine people will have a solid 8 meter advantage with a god roll palindrome than a god roll anything else. Add that with it being able to get an insane amount of stability, we might be seeing the most powerful hand cannon to ever be in D2 Reign Supreme for a little. Curious on others thoughts on this. I am not asking for a nerf, I am simply bringing up potential concerns and eager to hear feedback of other players.

  • It’s your average 140 that has nostalgia powers, nothing else about it. All the 150s who were made 140s are the problem they still have 150 stats

  • Yep. I grinded out a ton of GMs when I heard that Pali wasn’t going to be coming back for a while. I think it makes sense for them to put new loot in to the rotation, but to do it with only 4 days left in the week to get Pali... that’s kind of short notice. I don’t think it will be too bad of a problem as long as the new weapons are actually worth going after. Would like to see a fusion rifle or sidearm that has some unique perk, similar to the messenger.

  • Idk what research you used, but that isn’t really the case. I briefly looked at some handcannons on d2gunsmith.com, and Palindrome definitely doesn’t seem to be that much better than most handcannons. Palindrome doesn’t even necessarily outshine all other 140’s, and if it does, certainly not to a game breaking extent. Obviously stats will differ based on the roll (and Adept Palindrome’s have an inherent advantage), but Waking Vigil, has more handling at base, the same recoil direction, and is better in reload and aim assistance. The Old Fashioned, another 140, has the same advantages, other than a worse recoil direction. 180’s appear to generally be worse in terms of stats, with reload and being the only real advantage against Officer Revolver and Posterity, but they just need a buff, as I personally think all 180’s do. Against 120’s, like one might expect, Igneous just blatantly has more impact and range. Pretty much everything else is worse, but that’s because those two stats already put 120’s like Igneous in a place that breaks the Crucible. Bottom dollar is pretty much the same story. In short, Palindrome appears to be in a similar class with other 140’s, with some advantages and disadvantages. Palindrome is better than 180’s because they need a buff (but they also have better RPM and reload), and is outclassed in range and impact by 120’s. I feel like I’m seeing a pattern here…

        ??? Palindrome only has a slight impact advantage over something like Hawkmoon while Hawkmoon beats it in EVERY other stat especially with the catalyst. I’m not saying palindrome is bad by any means, but it’s not going to completely shatter the game. Light.GG has all the stats and you can directly compare weapons there.
