I completely understand that sometimes you pay for something and later its free. I have no issues with that at all. I do have issue with buying something to then have it made useless very soon after. It was sold saying we could use it on permanently relevant armor. Who would have bought the glows knowing that they can only be used on soon to be useless armor?
IIRC, it was about 15,000 BD for the 2019 glows that are unusable and 18,000 BD (6k each class) for 2018. Also, those that spent actual money (silver), yikes.
They said it could be used on "Any version of Solstice Armor sets" and "Armor glows are unlocked permanently".

This turns out to be completely false. After a few thousand hours playing this game, I should probably know better, but I still expect Bungie to stand by what they advertise and make things right.
I hope you're all safe and well.

No doubt there is language in the EULA that covers Bungie’s liability for things like that. It’s a harsh reality but let’s be real here, if you buy items in a video game, metaphorically, figuratively, spiritually it might seem like property, but at the end of the day you are literally buying nothing. If the idea of throwing money away doesn’t work for you, or if there is the slightest chance you’ll regret it, never buy anything in a video game.
