On twitter a fellow guardian called parisito did the math for transmog...
In its current form it will take guardians a grand total of 33.925 YEARS to unlock every armour set currently in the game baring any new sets the introduce.
He also calculated how much silver it would cost to buy them all outright... $6-12k
Well...
EA Sports
Its in the game
Edit: to the people who are hammering the same points...
"who will unlock all the sets anyways" & "it's just cosmetics"
Just know you are the kind of people EA make this stuff for and you probably would defend bungie if they monotised graphics and sound.
Anyone who uses one of the above points, just know we aren't taking you seriously.
FORTUNATELY Dylan made a tweet saying he was taking in all feedback so...
Remember this is bungie.
We are listening.
Will they take the headphones off for a second and actually listen?
We can only hope.

Did they ever reply to the feedback? I think I know the answer 😂

So just an fyi this the number of years is wrong. They took the collection number, tripled it (for all three classes), and didn't remove duplicates or eververse armor that has since been turned into universal ornaments. The quickest time is 10.25 years, with what we have and excluding season 14, longest being 20.5 based on armor sets released per year. Not justifying Bungie, but I wanted to clarify the numbers.

1 ReplyNo one is unlocking every armor set Most people are going to be getting pieces from certain sets they like. Let’s not forget how most of the bungie forums complainers always making post each season on how ugly ever set is. This is going to be like all other forum fad complaints forum babies will post about it for 2 weeks and when time comes for the next season people will forget and play. It’s sad that the people here can’t be honest they just want upvotes and attention. You know damn well you don’t want every armor set.

9 RepliesEdited by deltorakid2: 4/25/2021 12:06:58 AMAll this is countered by the simple fact that you don't need the cosmetics. Children whining over nothing
-
3 RepliesNot sure why you would wanna transmog every blue and green armour piece but ok
-
1 ReplyI am sort of wondering if they did this on purpose to keep people from transmogging "all the armor" so it doesn't crash the game when you are on the cosmetics screen.
-
3 RepliesI read "Transmog: someone did the meth..."
-
1 ReplyI still can’t believe there are people out there that defend bungie for all the crappy things they do I don’t get it.
-
People try saying “who would want to transmog all the gear?” and think thats some sort of counter argument when its not, what you said is a FACT not a opinion nothing for cosmetics should take 33 years to get normally and over 10k dollars to buy. They are aware that there is collectors out there who WILL do this and many people in this game are collectors this is a quick buck off them
-
1 ReplyAnd they should buff Tether in PvP!
-
So much cap
-
All earned sunset ones should be free.
-
1 ReplySomeone did the math after Bungie did the meth!
-
15 RepliesAll the armor currently unlocked in our collections tab....should become immediately available for use as an ornament...for....wait for it.....FREE!!!! No grind....No whine....FREE!!!!!!
-
2 RepliesImo all the armor sets the player earned should be unlocked automatically. We earned them so we should get them out of respect for our time. They could make armor sets from the dcv that the player never earned be locked behind transmog. For example the old raid armor sets, you could also make them cost a small amount of spoils of war. Trials of the nine armor should require you to hit fabled in comp. Old destination sets can still only require the tranamog. The EP armor set can require kills with ikelos or seventh seraph weapons. Old solstice gear could require a player to compete legend or higher nightfalls or something else that reflects the difficulty of acquiring the armor.

There’s only 1 set of armour I’d Transmog so the jokes on Bungie!!!

6 RepliesIt's time to bail. Y'all did this. I never wanted microtransactions. I wanted a videogame, not a cashshop. I'll pay for a game, but not microtransactions. You want this system? Then that's what they'll give you. Game has changed. They've made it into a mobile free to try version with microtransactions not associated with the game. I'm just here to play a game. This is not it. If you like it, stay and let them milk you. If you don't, it's time to bail. This game won't change, it's a Milking Cow. I also want transmog and shaders, but not like this. Let's bail. It's time to go.

You are not supposed to unlock all armors. Only the very few you really want your armor to look like.

5 RepliesEdited by TJ_Dot: 4/22/2021 8:45:27 PMSaw on Reddit someone saying 17 years and it being entirely impossible given the inevitability of more armor a season. I mean, either way, Bungie went full EA. I say went because they had months to almost a year to course-correct SOMETHING about the initial distasteful reception of being likely the first MMO to actually monetize transmog, especially on such a ridiculous scale.
-
1 ReplyThere is no goodwill here. Only Greed.
-
2 RepliesI feel like they should just remove the cap on how many unlocks for each piece of armor you can get per season. Sure, it would take a massive grind, but it's much better than putting it behind a massive paywall.
-
We’ve heard your complaint about Transmog and will have decided to nerf your favorite super
-
9 RepliesAssuming you want to play around with all the different armors. Most will just choose their few favorites and stuck with it.

[quote] Well... EA Sports Its in the game EA SPORTS ITS IN YOUR WALLET

Here's the tweet in question...

1 ReplyDoes this include Bungie adding in one or two armor sets every season and at least three every major expansion?
