I completely understand that sometimes you pay for something and later its free. I have no issues with that at all. I do have issue with buying something to then have it made useless very soon after. It was sold saying we could use it on permanently relevant armor. Who would have bought the glows knowing that they can only be used on soon to be useless armor?
IIRC, it was about 15,000 BD for the 2019 glows that are unusable and 18,000 BD (6k each class) for 2018. Also, those that spent actual money (silver), yikes.
They said it could be used on "Any version of Solstice Armor sets" and "Armor glows are unlocked permanently".

This turns out to be completely false. After a few thousand hours playing this game, I should probably know better, but I still expect Bungie to stand by what they advertise and make things right.
I hope you're all safe and well.

A big "Thank You" to all those that supported this and other threads regarding Solstice Glows. It looks like we're going to get them now! Not sure when, but it's coming. Thanks again.

Edited by TheShadow: 4/22/2021 9:56:19 PM
but I still expect Bungie to stand by what they advertise and make things right.
Yeah, after seeing how they have been abusing the license agreement "subject to change" for the last 4 years, especially in D2? You should actually know better by watching their actions. Actions speak louder than words and boy does this company love to talk a hell of a lot...

2 RepliesEdited by Doctor_Roidberg: 4/23/2021 1:40:50 AMBungie owes it to the playerbase to fix this. Not only did they invalidate the 2018 glows with the introduction of random rolls in Forsaken, they then promised us that the 2019 glows would be perfectly useable in Shadowkeep. News flash: they f***ing weren’t, with absolute worst possible stat rolls of 46 total. And this is before they were even sunset, just to cement that fact. Now comes the opportunity to fix all that and let people use shit a lot of people PAID MONEY FOR, and their response is to shrug and say oopsie? Hell no. Rework the glows so that the glow changes according to what subclass you have equipped like the current glows. Hell, throw in a Stasis glow, or just make it have no glow when using Stasis. I don’t care. DO SOMETHING.

3 RepliesBungie, if the old models for this optional paid content aren't compatible with the new system - please take these old models and glows and remake them, then re-release them.

2 RepliesBump. Aint letting this thread die

2 RepliesThis pissed me off the most especially how they kept telling us we don’t need to worry about it

Man, bungie...
-
I dont even want a refund. I just want it to work. Solstice y2 is my favorite armor in the game and the only set i wanted to transmog. Now the entire point of the set is unusable.
-
-
5 Replieslmao would you be demanding a refund if there was no transmog? Such entitlement. If bought the ornaments in hopes they would be supported by a future, yet unknown transmog system that’s on you, not Bungie.
-
Bungie please find a way to give us our old solstice armour w/glows, it feels like you have had nothing but contempt for the old sets, brought them back with 48 rolls, please already.
-
2 RepliesIf y’all get a refund, I would like one for tribute hall 🤷🏻

-
1 ReplyYou got what you deserved, you should have known better.
-
9 RepliesI could find 50k bright dust down the back of my sofa...it's nothing.
-
2 RepliesYep. Either make it work or give me a -blam!-ing refund. I bought ALL THREE GLOWS FOR THE 2019 SET BECAUSE BUNGIE TOLD US WE COULD USE THEM. Yeah -blam!-ING right we can.
-
13 RepliesThe solstice armor was rendered useless within a week of acquiring it twice. It was a scam rivaling the bad juju catalyst.
-
1 ReplyArmour 2.0 wasn’t even a change worth making Why not allow scope for an extra slot next to ornaments ? Call it Glows/Effects & this can be where Solstace Glows/Trials Glows etc can be placed on ALL armour Any Ornament & Any Effect Seems the Bungie UX/Engine isn’t flexible at all!

Better take screenshots and save the webpages. Guarantee they’ll take it down when the complaints start rolling in.

1 ReplyThey really have raised hell upon themselves again.

14 RepliesLook, I don’t mean to be a downer but you’re not going to win this one. The key is “permanently relevant armor”. Solstice armor is Arrivals, therefore it’s not sunset. All Bungie has to say is: Can you wear this gear in the endgame? Right now that answer is yes. Even with sunsetting, all they’d need to do was reissue the armor set again the next year and have the glows work with it. You bought a glow (or earned it) with the specific notion that it’d only be useable on one set of armor. Now that Bungie is providing transmog afterwards, they have no obligation to give it to you. It really sucks, but there’s not a whole lot you can do. I’d expect them to fix it at some point as it appears to be an issue with the specific set. Either that or just wait for the new set that was designed to work with the transmog that is most likely coming in July. It’s a tough spot and you can feel salty all you want and I feel for you, but unfortunately Bungie is a business first these days.

lol imagine doing solstice. even The Splicers’ High Priest has crews pushing further underground in the Plaguelands. Looks like a large-scale mobilisation against a Hive nest. [Ghost:] An army of Hive controlled by the Splicers would be the end of Old Russia. [Shiro-4:] Could be the end of everything. The Devils are evolving. Neutralise them before this goes any further, Guardian.

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 4/22/2021 9:52:46 PMAt this point anyone making a purchase with silver (actual money) should know that at any time any item can be taken away. No doubt there is language in the EULA that covers Bungie’s liability for things like that. It’s a harsh reality but let’s be real here, if you buy items in a video game, metaphorically, figuratively, spiritually it might seem like property, but at the end of the day you are literally buying nothing. If the idea of throwing money away doesn’t work for you, or if there is the slightest chance you’ll regret it, never buy anything in a video game.

4 RepliesI'm surprised that more people aren't talking about this, what bungie did is straight up bait and switch
-
3 RepliesCan I seriously demand a refund? Because I'm really pissed off. Year 1 armour will also be updated again... Why not the solstice too?!
