Complete Rat King Masterwork upgrade
This task needs to be changed, no one uses the Rat King anymore, a fireteam is needed to complete this upgrade, please consider changing this upgrade so a single player can complete it, thanks

1 ReplyI know it sucks, but keep in mind the entire concept of the exotic. Stronger with a Fireteam. So it's going to encourage you to use it in a Fireteam. While it is frustrating for a solo player to do, it fits the weapon's theme and concept.

They should make it doable on your own but much more efficient with a fireteam, so if you use it a lot solo you can still get it but it would still fit the rat pack theme

Get fire team load up shattered throne. Kill adds that respawn on steps. Job done. And no point having it solo it’s meant for a fire team run.

Next: Make Firing Line and Powerful Friends work for solo players. Seriously, try LFG if you're not in a clan. Nearly everyone has the gun so they can help and it doesn't take too long to grind out at Shuro Chi or similar.

A little PSA here. Fireteam member kills count for YOUR catalyst, but your kills do not. The most effective way to get it done is load up Shattered Throne in the Thrall Hall and you each smash out the others kills. 1 player at a time.

Or post to LFG to get it done. I use Rat King frequently for a variety of purposes. A gun that makes any guardian invisible after a kill....yep!!!

2 RepliesThe whole point of the gun is to be used with friends even the quest asked that. The older catalyst actually have requirements that make sense instead of “get X kills”

1 ReplyThe Rat King is built around the idea of a team. It’s main perk is does more damage when other team members have it equipped. So it makes sense that the catalyst leads on from that and it’s kind of good that it’s different to all the other catalysts. I feel your pain though. I had to get a few friends to help me complete it too. If you need help and your on PlayStation give me a shout.

Get a friend to join you on the thrall section of the Shattered Throne Dungeon... added, I completed most of my catalysts there, easy kills for weapons such as Sunshot and Graviton Lance which can be a pain.

I've seen a fair number of posts in the Find Fireteam section where people are looking for others to complete this catalyst - so you can always go this route as well. My take is if any one wants this catalyst for a weapon that designed around playing in a team should be willing to do the objectives.
