So once you hit 1325, you can enter grandmasters. Anything above that doesnt matter. You could be at 1400 light and *enemies would scale 25 levels above you. Why not let players at 1300 light join and let them face 1325 light enemies? This arbitrary 1325 number has nothing to do with the activity itself. The only thing this is doing is driving away players who dont have time to grind or are coming back to destiny late in the season. You can over level other ordeals such as legend or master to make the content easier. There is no over leveling gms so why should my friends be locked out of the content at 1323.
Part of the problem behind the elitist attitude towards grandmasters is hitting this meaningless threshold. Its like the game is saying, "Eww you dont grind out 3 characters each week. I guess no grandmaster for you."
*Edit: i now know that enemies dont scale above you and it just pushes players back down to 1325. Still, why doesnt bungie just drop everyones power to 1300 and put us against 1325 enemies? Functionally the same experience. All the challenge related to earning your Conquoror title would be identical. This would just let more players access gms. I am NOT asking for content to be made easier.

I agree with the heart of your point, but I think bungie wants it to take significant effort to be able to access the content. It's kind of an entry cost.
-
That's.... actually a very good point lol
-
Yeah i think its funny that the reward is an adept weapon that you probably wont use in the GM activities ......because you gotta use a relic perked weapon.....but you still wont use it🤷🏽🤦🏽
-
I’ve been rambling on about this to my buds for a while now. I don’t get it. Just scale it accordingly to everyone. Just like yourself, I don’t have every friend able to drop hours into the artifact

1 ReplyWhy put the hardest endgame content at a lower power level then the Master NF's? It's supposed to be high endgame content that you need to work for, not just given because you don't feel like working for something. Plus why do you care? You are well above the min power level anyways. I have been playing super casual this season and was 1332 when the GM's dropped, heck was 1300 before the first week was over and I didn't play much that first week of this season.

31 RepliesEdited by Necrogen: 4/12/2021 12:03:46 PMIt's a pinnacle activity. If you can't understand that, there's nothing more that can be done in this conversation.

Because it’s one of the only incentives for people to grind to max power level. Sucks, but it’s kind of a necessity. I doubt many players that aren’t max light are the type to do GM’s anyway.

Edited by Emurinus: 4/12/2021 10:40:29 PMI never understood the point behind it either; it just seems arbitrary. There shouldn't be any difference between a 1350 activity scaling you to 1325 and a 1325 activity scaling you to 1300 aside from more player accessibility, which doesn't seem like a bad thing. It already has no matchmaking and none of the modifiers or seal challenges would change; it would still be a challenging activity in its own right.
-
61 RepliesYou are conflating 2 completely different things. Just because Bungie added a GM modifier that caps you at 1325, that does not somehow mean that they can just change the top number to anything they want. It is a 1350 activity they are making you run at 1325, which for now, is a GM specific modifier. It would be no different than if the added that modifier to the master and made you run a 1330 activity at 1305.

Ding. Winner.

They can make it work just like how pressage does it. The enemies will always be higher no matter what
-
Couldn’t agree more. Cause it’s the truth. Anyone one who disagrees it’s only because they feel that them being in the top 1% of people who have adept weapons gives meaning to their lives. And they don’t want to share that. Cause it’s all they have.
-
3 RepliesThe 1325 is the recommended level as it's the lowest you can be to do damage. If you go in under 1325 you will legitimately not be able to do damage. You need various things to actually do one. Recommended or above light level. Decent weapons... You can't just run crap weapons. Run the mods that are necessary... Some knowlage of the strike. So what I've done over the time is learn the spawn points for the higher rank enemies and determine what champion they would be. Once that's done, you should be good.

Kind of entertaining how all the comments defending the power cap have been downvoted into oblivion
You may share your salt now
3 RepliesMan, reading alot of these comments and a good chuck of you guys really lack basic reading skills n common sense 😅

This is a great idea 👍

Edited by Machine_DNA: 4/13/2021 7:02:49 PMTotally agree. The difficulty should be in the activity, not in finding the time to grind the artifact.
-
Remove the 1325 requirement for GM’s. Keep everything else at 1350.

Edited by QuaLiTy: 4/13/2021 3:44:23 PMThe reason they CANT do that is because there is also a 1300 nightfall Playlist and a 1330 version as well.. Grandmasters being 1300 will become a moot point because if thats the case, people wouldn't do Master at all and will be thinking Grandmaster is a piece of a cake because it's 1300.. That false sense of security will lead to constant failure and then MORE whining about why the Grandmaster at 1300 is more difficult than Legend and Master.. which are both 1300 and 1330 this season... But don't worry.. Next season should be much more easier for people to get their light up to be able to run Grandmasters
-
1325 is more than achievable after 2 months, if you're not there yet you're not playing the game. In any case, next season power lvl will go up 10lvls, grind will be a thing of the past (at least for mid year seasons), just go for the pinnacles as soon as the season starts.

Edited by MySilentGas: 4/14/2021 11:19:25 AMHow else can they get players to raid who usually don't . High light . How else can they get players to play crucible who usually don't . High light . Same goes for iron banner and gambit . The more time players spend in game the better it is for them . In my opinion they don't care whether you enjoy it or not thats why we see no big changes only small changes to activities or loot . I'm not trashing Destiny , I have played since the beginning .

Edited by l HyperLethal l: 4/13/2021 3:09:47 PMWho cares about the requirements for GM? It's basically a LASO story mission with fairly consistent drops. Speaking of drops, the nightfall weapons don't make much sense to me. Wasn't the palindrome, shadow price and the swarm destroyed during the city attack? How'd end up in some bad guy's chest. And how do they count as nightfall specific loot? They're good weapons, don't get me wrong. They just feel out of place. Stuff like the D.F.A, Mindbenders or Treads Upon Stars should be there instead. That's just me though.
-
I just don’t get why it’s locked to the 1325 mark anyway. Couldn’t do it in the first week due to my fireteam only being 1322 and 1233, why not let us run it anyway?
-
6 RepliesEdited by steamrollin76: 4/12/2021 1:43:41 AMThe whole light system is a joke. They will increase the light by 10 but increase all the activities by 10. It only makes people grind the pinnacle rewards again. Even if there is a lower light activity the game will scale you down to that light level. You will never feel strong and powerful, you will never feel like you are finished. Just grind more. It has worked well for them so maybe they are right.
-
Power levels don’t have a purpose in this game. They are only an artificial barrier for players. Luckly next season they will reduce the power level grind but it will still hold no purpose.
-
First off. The light system is dumb, and Destiny should seriously just have difficulty selectors for missions. But that would remove the only small piece of "progression" that this game has. So. Yes the light level should be lower. But Bungie has made the change that seasons only go up 10 light levels now. Which is way better than 50. I think people should catch up soon. Even though it still is annoying.
