Heres a few tips that, hopefully, will allow you to win more games.
1. When you can bank for a primeval, BANK. Don't go around looking for 15 motes, just BANK.
2. If you keep failing at invading, STOP INVADING. If you're struggling, it might be best to let someone else try.
3. Kill the envoys. If they're up, stop tunnel visioning the boss and kill them instead. It can only help, I promise.
4. If an enemy invader is sniping your team, DONT rush out into the open with your 15 motes.
5. You generally don't want to bank first, unless you have 15 motes and you need to. That gives the enemy team an opportunity to get an early drain on you.
Via Rodog1973
IF you bank first, the entire team should bank
Then invade.
The other team was most likely to bank as well.
They are most likely at the bank clearing it..
The best time in the entire game to invade first if possible is this scenario.
6. Adds are stronger in this gamemode so play it safer than usual.
Via Max
7. Clear Blockers as fast as possible. 15 Motes won’t do much when there are 4 Blockers at the bank.
8. Keep an eye on your teammates motes. There is nothing more infuriating than a teammate with like three motes collected stealing the last two motes that you needed for a large blocker.
9. When you get invaded - protect players with a lot motes collected. There is no penalty to dying when the Boss isn’t up and you barely have any motes, so you can try to kill or distract the invader
Edit: I edited the post to be less aggressive. I really was trying to be helpful but the tone was definitely clashing with that goal. Hopefully this fixes that.
Also, btw, you can complete bounties and win at the same time. I don't know if you guys knew that so I'm just gonna drop this here as a #10. A secret boss tip, if you will.

Gambutt is a broken shit-mode. Caring enough about it to write a novel on forums is sadder than anyone playing it badly.

9 RepliesThank you for the advice. A question, What am I supposed to do when I'm holding 15 motes and, as I'm clearing the triple blockers on the bank, all of sudden there's an invader that perfectly timed its invasion and is now target locking eyes of tomorrow over me and my team mates??? Thanks in advance.

2 RepliesDude, you’re preaching to the destiny community. There is no such thing as team play. It’s every man for themselves. In crucible, no one is playing the objectives what makes you think they will do the same for Gambit?
-
2 RepliesUhhhhh, this is less advice and just being rude to noobs who could use advice. Most of the time, Knight blockers are bullet sponges with warp, telling a noob to "go fight them," is just ASKING to waste time. And sure, I don't enjoy seeing 3 motes for primeval and rest of your team mates are chasing after 15 motes, maybe they have a podcast on and are just chilling out. If I were to recommend anything, bring an exotic, ANY Exotic! If it melts primeval, that's perfect. Use heavy and supers on blockers, it's not worth it longer than needed. Apply mods to have heavy ammo drops, there's more ammo than camping at the heavy ammo spot. And, Don't waste super when the Primeval comes in, if it doesn't do 1/3 then you're facing a bullet sponge. AND THIS APPLIES TO EVERYTHING DESTINY: if you don't know what to do, just take out adds.

1 ReplyGet a team or stop whining.

I'm sick of getting dragged down into the mud because gambit blueberries are so unbelievably bad at the mode. So, heres a few tips that, hopefully, will allow the average intelligence of the blueberry pool go up. 1. When you can bank for a primeval, BANK. Don't go around looking for 15 motes, just BANK. 2. If you keep failing at invading, STOP INVADING. Maybe, just maybe, going in twice and coming out with 0 kills should be your wake up call to let someone else try. 3. Kill the envoys. If they're up, stop tunnel visioning the boss and kill them instead. It can only help, I promise. 4. If an enemy invader is sniping your team, maybe DONT rush out into the open with your 15 motes like a headless chicken??? 5. You generally don't want to bank first, unless you have 15 motes and you need to. That gives the enemy team an opportunity to get an early drain on you. Via Rodog1973 IF you bank first, the entire team should bank Then invade. The other team was most likely to bank as well. They are most likely at the bank clearing it.. The best time in the entire game to invade first if possible is this scenario. 6. Stop dying to dregs, you hopeless idiot. Via Max 7. There is no penalty to dying when the Boss isn’t up and you barely have any motes, so you can try to kill or distract the invader Now get out there and stop ruining streaks.
Making a snide lecture post won’t actually improve the play of blueberries. You will find more success as a player by finding a team, or playing with your blueberry team mates while solo queueing. You can’t expect them to act a certain way with no coordination so play with them instead of trying to carry them. You will win a lot more games.

1 ReplyLol most people understand simple strategy. It seems it is you that does not understand that people prioritise completing bounties over winning. Hate the game not the player...or find a group on lfg if winning is so important to you...
-
2 RepliesEdited by NVMYGT: 4/9/2021 6:26:13 PMYou may not be ready to hear this but not everyone is playing to win. There are some pretty ridiculous requirements for Triumphs, challenges, and bounties ect so if you see people using certain weapons that are not efficient or effective its for a reason. That guy that sucks at invading is desperately trying to work on Malfeasance or Ace of Spades... you dont know. Don't assume peoples skill level, my 7 year old son plays occasionally for example. People with handicaps or disabilities play this game. Must be nice to have your hearing, both eyes, both arms, both hands, all 10 fingers... ect. You didn't know what people are going through. Try not to be so judgmental.

1 ReplyTo speed up the game. Collect as many motes as possible, steal as much as possible. Then die. Speeds up the game completions and get you out of the hellish game mode quicker
-
2 RepliesMate it’s just point and shoot. You’re not better than anybody else.
-
I found that if my team doesn't seem to want or know how to play strategically, it's better to not collect motes, smash adds and blockers, and deal with invaders yourself. Let them bank and invade.
-
TLDR a true dredgen does not whine about teammates. A dredgen plays gambit to the death whether its a L or W.
-
You are overlooking 1 major thing. You are assuming people want to be good and win at gambit. People are there for their bounties and pinnacle 3 match completion. This is bungie's chaos creation - single player objectives in team based mode.
-
Being viable weapons to kill shit. These enemies are tankier than your average red/yellow bars. Dont come in with 2 specials and a heavy and then go punchy boy the whole match because you don’t have Ammo. Don’t deposit 14 motes unless your situation is dire. Don’t waste all of your invades before the primevil. Those can save your ass if the other team is far ahead and you need to pull close.
-
2 RepliesHonestly if it wasnt for the pvp(invasion) part of gambit it would a way better mode. Then it would just fall down to a teams ability to destroy adds and keep the pressure on the other team.
-
1 ReplyAnyone ever been stomped through the portal while clearing the bank while carrying a lot of notes.
-
2 RepliesOr just don't care do the bounties during the 3 match for the pinnacle then not return until next week 😂
-
Edited by Lumis: 4/7/2021 4:41:04 PMKeep in mind that Bungie added in bounties and challenges that encourage you to compete against your own teammates and play in a way that basically sabotages your own team. Most players in Gambit this week won't care at all about winning. They want to get that challenge for killing enemy Guardians completed and get the heck out.

Guardian,Archon Of LightRIP Destiny 9-14-2014 to 2-18-2026 - old
Also ,the bank can kill you has it comes back up , it's a really stupid way to lose motes -
Step 1: Be a Titan. Step 2: Top tree Striker. Step 3: Equip Dunemarchers. Step 4: Max out Strength, Resilience, and Recovery. Step 5: GIANTS. GIANTS. GIANTS. BECOME UNSTOPPABLE.

I need five wins for Dredgen 2.0

I miss dropping 20 motes

Edited by Casper - 77: 4/8/2021 4:05:16 AMRandom tip from me that I do; If you have no motes and someone invaded, bum rush them. Best if you can get close and jump around distracting them. I have done this a few times to help other teammates get away or hide.
-
Sound advice hope the blueberries get to read it I can agree with it all
-
2 RepliesAnother one to add: When you have 15 motes, bank them. Don't walk around an open bank for a few minutes until an invader kills you.

Well, at least I don't hate my life like those poor souls known as Reckoners, to any Reckoners out there your resiliency at hating life is outstanding, if you never played Prime and Reckoning then Gambit should be way better for you new blueberries, now go get you a Bottom Dollar, trust!-(A Dredgen)
Guardian Advisory: Gambit is a gamble mode and is a voluntary mode for people like me that hate their life. If you don't want to end up like me then avoid Gambit entirely, the loot does NOT outweigh the minimal rewards, go do some dungeons, those are way better!
