With Luke Smith saying, “Just delete that shitè” I started realizing that Sunsetting was a thing and to make room in my vault deleted a bunch of 65+ stat armor at the beginning of this season that was expiring at the end of this season. I know I was not alone as I’ve had multiple clan mates tell me the same thing.
Low and behold Sunsetting was sunset but now I’m out a bunch of god roll armor. Feels bad man.
As a gesture of good faith I think Bungo should give us a way to reacquire season pass armor that isn’t sunset.
Edit: they didn’t announce the removal of Sunsetting until 4 weeks into the season. They should’ve announced it at the beginning. Hence my dilemma.
Edit 2: for everyone doubting that Luke Smith said what he said here is a link for all you Bungie Defense Force players: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kotaku.com.au/2020/11/destiny-2-director-to-players-delete-all-that-shit-taking-up-space-in-your-vault/amp/

1 ReplyEdited by TheShadow: 4/6/2021 2:56:36 PMI've learned years ago to never listen or trust anything Luke Smith has had to say. It has saved me from making dumb decisions like deleting all my stuff. In fact, knowing this company since D2 released has never been consistent with the game I don't trust anything this company says. They abuse the license agreement (subject to change.) The best way to deal with this company is to pay attention to their actions (never their words) because as most can see, things constantly change.

All hail the scarab lord.

5 RepliesLuke Smith is an overpaid idiot one trick pony who copied everything from WoW, and should have been fired long ago
-
4 Replies“Just delete that shite.” - Luke Smith, apparently. 2020
-
Hahaha! only not useable in high end pve and trials or iron bannor. Shoulda kept ’em....
-
1 ReplyOld sunset gear will not be upgradeable. You have to grind to get the gear you once had again.
-
Meanwhile I just found Crimil’s Dagger with Rangefinder, Kill Clip, and Range MW from like 3 seasons ago because I was too lazy to do that.
-
I have friends that deleted dire promise god rolls or true Prophecy god rolls.
-
2 RepliesWhy would you dismantle gear that you could still use? That ones on you🤦🏼♀️
-
7 RepliesI don't get why you'd dismantle "god roll" armour that was still viable this season?? Sure, stuff that was capped at 1260 - go ahead and delete that shit. But why dismantle god roll gear capped at 1310? Were you drunk?
-
Edited by Double07: 4/7/2021 2:41:55 AMWorst “update” in Destiny. I bet Bungie will do it again like groundhog day to make old players have nothing in the end.
-
Why did you delete it an entire season early? Thats kinda on you.
-
3 RepliesWhy did you delete stuff before it was sunset
-
Welcome to Bungie. I didn’t touch any of my stuff, I knew it would happen.
-
You and me both. I accepted the fact that sunsetting was happening and did the same. I needed the vault space as well. Unfortunately if this season is any indication the stat rolls on armour are noticeably weaker just like the perk combos on the guns. We got Bungied! That’s what we get for listening to what Bungie says instead of waiting and watching what they actually do. I’m glad that sunsetting is reversed but yeah, all my 1260 and 1310 god rolls were dismantled for the materials. Let’s hope next season’s gear is up to par and better than this season of the chosen Prafectus garbage.

Your first mistake was listening to Luke Smith
-
Smh 😄
-
I deleted all things dreaming city...just to hear that it’s being reissued. 🤦🏽♂️
-
Nobody made you delete anything, your vault, your choice. Also Luke said that in reference to Transmog and not sunsetting. I deleted stuff too, but it's my own fault, not Bungies, not Lukes, not my neighbours, all my own fault.
-
Edited by tonycawley: 4/6/2021 6:17:35 PMThat's definitely your fault. The only stuff I've deleted that I otherwise would've kept is stuff that's actually been sunset, not stuff that I thought was about to be sunset. This definitely makes it your error, not Bungie's and they owe you absolutely nothing based on this.
-
boo hoo, sounds like a you problem
-
I did the same thing at the beginning of this season...whomp whomp...
-
1 ReplyIt wouldn't matter if armor dropped with good stats, but anything 65+ has become incredibly rare.
-
9 RepliesUnless you were actually out of space in your vault,...you did it to yourself.
-
did the same. It is a shame that good stat armor is so hard to find that it bothers us.
-
No he didn’t but ok.
