Hey Guardians, I gotta be real with you. This is kind of a rant, but I would encourage you to read the full extent of what I have to say. Also, This is for the most part, A PVP STAND POINT. Yes our opinions matter also you toxic people out there, and even though I didn't really mention it, similar logic could be applied to PVE also, but for them its more: lack of new weapons devoted to PVE since recent weapons are good for mostly PVP such as the bottom dollar or the Igneous Hammer. [b][i][u]Chapter 1, This Season's Meta and Weapons:[/u][/i][/b] This season, there have been a lot of really, really solid energy primary and energy special weapon options. I.E Frozen Orbit, Far Future, Igneous Hammer, and Bottom Dollar just to name a few, but there is a lack of solid kinetic options. Steady Hand: its good, but you need to grind your butt off to get a decent one, and Iron Banana only comes around once a month. True Prophecy: So insanely rare this season, you're better off not going for it. Now you could say "just don't use 120's" or "go off meta then" which is valid, but there really aren't too many ways to counter the range on a 120 and I and many others, like the 120's. Now like I said before, some of the best/most meta weapons are in the energy slot, with fewer meta options in the kinetic slot. Lets look at the kinetic specials people might pair with their meta energy primaries: Astral Horizon: not as good since quickdraw was removed so most people won't opt for an astral and it is disregarded and called TRASH. Chaperone: A good option for sure, but most people prefer the one shot to the shins ape playstyle nowadays so it's also less popular/good in the meta. Eye of So- oh. yeah. its not available anymore... Succession: A good sniper for sure, but most don't like sniping or 50 zoom, so its also not that great of a choice. Don't even mention Toil and Trouble to me... [b][i][u]Chapter 2, Next Season:[/u][/i][/b] Second, lets look to next season's: VoG loot. It's all energy weapons. Not a single kinetic to be found. Now Bungie could counter this by adding in new kinetic weapons, but I doubt they'll do that. Remember, they copied and pasted the Cosmodrome into D2. Think about it: This lack of kinetics to pair with your meta VoG weapons (i'm looking at you fatebringer) will cause players to become dissapointed, and leave the game, which hurts your numbers and the amount of eververse money that's coming in (and we all know you cant let that happen). [b][i][u]Closing Remarks:[/u][/i][/b] I think most of us can agree, that this season was definitely the season of the energy weapons, and If nothing (or not much is done about it), Next season will be also. I hope that better options for 120 RPM handcannons, shotguns, and snipers (or whatever will be meta) come to the kinetic slot, to balance out the 10 "new" energy weapons coming to the game next season. TL;DR: Most of the the meta weapons are in the energy slot, and as far as we can see, that really wont change much next season. I hope that Bungie adds some Future meta weapons, snipers, shotguns or 120's to the primary slot [u][i][b]A final Message:[/b][/i][/u] If I see any comments along the lines of "PVP opinions don't matter" or "I hate this.
