I made a post on the first week of this season detailing the absolute unit of a buff to rocket launchers (Which is a good thing! Keep them this way) making them feel like a true heavy weapon. But, with this change it has shown a shift in heavy weapon preference and performance e.g leviathan's breath. The TLDR of the post was: "(in the context of boss units) a regular shining sphere with impact casing and homing rounds deals about 19k impact and 61k AOE totaling ≈ 80k damage overall. Leviathan's breath, which is strictly a single target heavy, deals ≈ 79k damage on a headshot and almost half that on a body shot with a 5-6k minuscule aoe". This means that an aoe non precision based heavy is almost outperforming a st precision one. Slap on a reload perk or two and rockets start doing even more sustained damage while ignoring the time to aim a headshot. As a solution, either give LB a stronger critical multiplier, or just make it's intrinsic Big Game Hunter grant hidden Vorpal Weapon so that it hits 15% stronger so both precision and non-precision damage is elevated to just shy of 99k damage on bosses just so it makes up for how leviathan sized that reload and draw time is(Since wouldn't the biggest game be bosses?).

or, nerf the damage by 10% and make it a "Special" weapon instead. now before you grab the torch & pitchfork hear me out! its total damage output fits in that segment of weaponry (say for some pvp tuning, perhaps only a headshot will kill, just like a sniper would.) as for pve, LB having roughly 12kdps with 240k total damage (w/cat) just a small 10% nerf would put it right at the Average of "Special" exotic damage range. Or a give it a 50% buff to up that to 18k/360k total to get in in the Average of the "Heavy" slot range. Heck- some special ammo weapons already out-damage LB, like the Heritage has 13k dps with 200k total damage (w/ shotty reserves) its an older post, but i had to speak my mind about this, i really like the weapon but its a waste of an exotic slot and useless in anything but trolling gambit.

Its an anti champion heavy...not a DPS weapon. Though bows by themselves could use a buff to their crit damage.

Its been awhile since I've used Leviathans Breath but I thought it was pretty good. Did something change or was it just the modifiers that made it good? Void Burn + bubble + melting point +2 shots of Leviathan's Breath = insta-kill Pyramidian strike boss

10 RepliesBro what Rocket Launcher can get up to 15 rockets Levi is just fine

10 RepliesYou have to factor in magazine size. Levi's breath does percision damage and a small extra aoe damage. With 15 shots you get more total damage compared to 8 rocket's. I think all it truly needs is a draw time decrease.
-
Leviathans Breath primary uses are only in Gambit and maybe if you’re willing to give up that exotic slot for unstoppable champions other than that it’s a dead exotic.
-
i think precision heavy weapons all need a damage buff. whisper is only good because its crit multiplier is higher from its perk, while all linear fusions just do normal crit damage. you should be rewarded for getting headshots, not doing less than say a rocket. a headshot multiplier for levis breath, and linear fusions as a whole, would be great.
def not trying to relive sleeper vs templar next season
It seems like it would be best as a utility weapon for dealing with unstoppable champions. Only problem is that it doesn’t have nearly enough ammo to fill that roll.

7 RepliesI disagree. With the last buffs, levi breath is amazing now. It does a great deal of damage and has a good amount of ammo. If they added more damage and/or decreased draw time, it would border on op, which is not needed.
-
It’s real benefit is the automatic stagger on anything that has a stagger mechanic. Something gets hit with it. It will stop shooting for a second.
-
2 RepliesLevi's damage would be more justified with either a shorter draw time or even more reserve ammo (+5 arrows on its catalyst wasn't enough; +10 would've been much better).

Leave the bow alone!

A Vorpal-like change to the perk sounds like a good idea.
